History: The Fosfe Incident

The Highlands of Jaida, named for the tribes of people who inhabit it, spanning rolling hills with sparse tree coverage. The hills, while beautiful and peaceful looking, hide fearsome creatures unique to the grassland. The Gafren Tribes live closely entwined with the fate of the land, and as such, revere their pace in its natural order.

History: The Fosfe Incident

Post by Ves »

Many centuries ago, the Fosfe region was targeted by the B’halian Empire for their next annexation. Active volcanoes and magma flows make it rife with unique and high quality mineral resources and the Gafren, Denkou, and Titanians have worked together for centuries to mine and manage the resources without much conflict. When the B’halian Empire discovered the wealth of resources here, they concluded it would serve best as their first colony on the Madeira continent with it being shared among tribes of Man and inherently a possession of the elven Empire itself.

The Empire quickly gained control of the mines in their invasion and settled in quickly, leaving the Humans to retreat to their homes. While there weren't many casualties resulting form the invasion, the Tribes of Gafren and Titanians acknowledged the imminent danger brewing on the horizon. The B'halian campaign would begin with the mines, but surely continue to stretch beyond Fosfe and directly across the Jaida Coast. They needed to be stopped.

Some time passed and the B'halian Empire mounted their much anticipated campaign to crush the humans living in the highlands south of the crags, the next step in unifying the continent under their control. Garland Gafren led a team of the most capable of his tribesmen and some of the Titanian's most elite to face the B'halian vanguard in the defunct Spiral Mine, and forcing them to retreat from the region altogether.

Though victorious, the Jaidan infantry suffered massive losses, including their leader, Garland himself. The story has been passed down for generations in the Tribes of Gafren.
