Family/Relatives
-Greisha Dao (Father, Dead)-
-Nadja Dao (Mother, Dead)-

Appearance

-Qarinah, despite her old blood, has an appearance undaunted by the passage of time. She has soft, olive colored skin that is cold to the touch and covered in scars that refuse to heal. One in particular being the gash across her neck.

She has beautiful, lustrous eyes with slit pupils that shine like pearls in the moonlight. Qarinah is fairly tall with firm, shapely limbs and short black hair fashioned into pixie cut that coils slightly over her left eye. She also has tiny black horns that slightly pertrude through the crown of her head.

As a Vampire, Qarinah's beauty and longevity is tied how much she has fed, or needs too. Her canines are naturally elongated and razor sharp, but should she begin to starve, her body begins to decompose and rot.

Attire

Qarinah's apparel almost solely revolves around her fear of being caught in the sun, otherwise she'd happily walk around bare.

She wears a black, fullbody battle suit, accentuated with armored plates around her sleeve and collar. The inner components of the suit are made with Azarite, a powerful and coveted resource native to the Astral Chaos. The suit is not designed to aid or protect her body from battle, but it does refract sunlight.

[Biography]

The First Astral Year
*Several Million Years Ago*

Long ago, there was s tiny continent built around the an enormous volcanic mass known as the Primordial. Its first eruption occured long before the civilization of man, after a mysterious meteor landed in the mouth of the Volcano. The otherworlrly radiation from the UFO ignited catastrophic pyroclastic surges that decimated and teraformed the landmass into a cluster of surrounding islands. Rivers of raw molten naten spilled from the mouth of the volcano, bubbling with a spectrum of colors that carved valleys into the islands' surfaces. Thousands of years passed and the pure resorvoirs of naten dissolved into the soil, the sea, and even the clouds. These vectors of energy became catalysts to a rich dichotomy of flora and fauna that was thoroughly evolved from the cataclysmic event.

The now dormant volcano had been surrounded by vibrant jungles with trees tall enough to hide cities, and an ecosystem of animals large enough to quake the surrounding seas with their bloody battles for dominance.

Second Astral Year
-20,000 Years Ago-

Upon the arrival of man and technology, the tropical chain of islands became known as Al'ldier, and the value of the Primoridal's resources were quickly harnessed.

Colonists, conquerors, travelers, and refugees were all drawn to the mystical island in hopes of taking advantage of the arcanebresources offered in its soil. Soon cultures were born, ethics were conceived, and civilizations were built. But there is no peace without war, and Bhal'iia didn't offer enough fossil fuels to share.

Four Kingdoms were born from the struggle of power. The Northern Islands were home to a tribe of mostly women whose ancestors harnessed Aldier resorvoirs of pure Naten into arcane teachings. They were governed by Zhurtr, the Grand Magus of Yorvania. The East were comprised of Alchemists and Scientists who followed Eldric Durhma; The Commander and Chief of Vullnua, and a supposed immortal. He existed when the technological metropolis was conceived, and saw to it his eyes would see it to fruition.

The West Isles belonged to lengthy dynasty of warriors; swordsmen and shinobi who drew their strength from the surrounding sea. They charted practically every geyser of natural energy and used them to fuel their imperial floating city. Their hearts and swords were sworn to Zheta Wuyon, the Emporer of X'hou.

The South Isles were an oddity. Despite the equatoiral biomes of its neighboring Kingdoms, the South Isles were caught in a perpetual snow storm that blotted the sun, and any outside visual. It was native to a congress of devout monks who worshipped ancient beings from other realms, charted in the night skies when the storms calmed. These deities were called the Dao, and Griesha was Prime Minister of the Icy Temples of Kaiiro.

Xenophobic Age
-15,000 Years ago-

There had always been a permanent divide between the kingdoms; battles over territory, conflicts in trading and political deceptions. But everything shifted after the prediction of Greisha's most trusted Oracle. She claimed the stars had warned her of a future she could not stop. An Omen.

"A great evil will swallow the four kingdoms, an army of corpeses will rise from its ruins and darkness will march on Vescrutia."

The Horsemen were coming..

No one in either Kingdom had lived long enough to remember when Ruin first descended upon Vescrutia but The Oracle's vision ushered a new era of fear across Aldier that ignited full scale war on all four fronts. The arrival of an imminent danger drove out the darkness dwelling in hearts of each Kingdom that dissolved any thought of an alliance. There could only be one Kingdom to inherit all of Bhal'iia's acutely limited resources.

The Bhal'iian War began on the frozen ouskirts of Kaiiro, when the Grand Magus deployed her personal elite, The Vishanti, to slaughter the Monks and salvage their temples. The icelands of Kaiiro were known for their occult reserves of knowledge, their propensity for non-violence, and their devout belief in their clandestine deities. They were easily considered the weakest of all the Kingdoms but the Vishanti would ensure no resistance would prevail.

Greisha was warned by his Oracles of the preemptive attack days in advance, and would be waiting for them at the crest of his frozen tundra, alone.

Unbeknownst to The Grand Magus, The Monks of Kaiiro had long forgotten their amicable path toward enlightenment. It was on their blackest night that The Prime Minister of the Temple of Dao was rewarded for his faith. The stars aligned to illustrate simple instructions; a sacrifice would be made and victory would be certain. The higher the price, the more potent the results.

Greisha greeted all three hundred mages of The Vishanti the second their magics penetrated Kaiiro's perpetual storm. Each of them stood unmatched in their respective disicplane of the arcane while Griesha brandished an Axe large enough to wield him. The blood colored tool was dark fruit of labor, and the key to his future regime. At the will of the Dao, Griesha gutted the life from half of his entire Kingdom as tribute to the forces beyond the realm and they gifted his devotion. The souls of his devout were smelted into an artifact that would reflect the power of the deity they worshipped.

Set', The Shogun of Conquest, The Body of Entropy, The God of Death.

With the enchanted weapon, Griesha laid waste to the Vishanti with barely any effort before quickly making his way to the Northern Kingdom. The magical fortress was felled overnight and the Temple of Dao grew stronger. After conquering the magics of the North, it was only a matter of time before Griesha set his sights on the neighorbing Kingdoms. He conquered them all, uniting every corner of Bhal'iia under The Temple of Set' and integrated all of the teachings and resources of the four kingdoms. With his stalwart arsenal of defenses, Griesha's anxieties of encroaching doom all but faded. He was a fabled conquerer and emissary of the gods. He allowed peace to humble him, despite the whispers of Set'. He allowed himself to wed. A mistake. All of it. One that the Ravagers; deformed hellspawn of the Horsemen Ruin made sure he'd never forget.

The Alider Massacre
-Several Thousand Years Ago-

The Ravagers arrived when Griesha was at his weakest. He and his Queen were expecting an heir, a daughter who was only few days from being born when his country was literally set ablaze. His armies were obliterated and his tactics were crushed. No weapon or attack he could muster against the savage monsters prospered. Desperation herded him back to the Dao, where he pleaded to Set for a salvation. The Dao responded in kind, this time with a far more specific demand of tribute.

"With your blade, bear your child and present them to the cosmos. Swear to me your firstborn and this world shall know my wonders."

With his heart sunken, Griesha abided his Lord and slaughtered his pregnent Queen in the name of Set', ripping his child from her belly and offering her at the temple alter. As promised, Griesha was rewarded for his fealty, but it was daughter who inherited the power of Set'. Her spongey skin and tiny bones were graphically mutated she could resemble the Body of Entropy. Her monstrous appearance was derived directly from the fuel of nightmares; she bore a hideous row of fangs, razor sharo arms and talons, all connected to a grotesque body unaffected by any method of assault. She fended off the harbingers of the Ruin, but not before draining the blood of her father.

In the same night, the wrath of Set' rolled over Aldier like a tidal wave. Hundreds of thousands of the people Griesha sworn to protect, were mutilated in their streets and even their homes. The demon sucked the life from their flesh until the sun rose.

The sunlight shredded the beast's impenetrable skin to the bone and baked its charred remains into a husk no larger than a child. Survivors of the Aldier massacre combined their various teachings to confine the creature in its weakest state and bar them from returning ever again. Using arcane magics and alchemic machinations, they created an Acheron that harnessed the power of the sun and bound the creature to it like a tomb. The tomb, built to be just as indestructible as its captive was casted into depths of sea, where the undertow would bury it forever..

Or so they hoped..

The City of Knull

A millenia passed before another being who sought the power of Set' was manpiulated by his twisted influences. It was a sorcerer who studied the stars and wished to a build a connection with the ancient gods. His name was Auberon, and his prowess over the dark arts garnered him a prestige that shook arcane practioners of The City of Knull. Here all sorts of druids, wizards, witches, and other meisters of the occult gathered to obtain knowledge, exchange resources, or hide from their enemies. The territory was enormous, built upon the burial grounds of ancient beasts lost to the tomes of time, and occupied by only the most dangerous collection of egos. Only the will of the strong governed The City of Knull, and his name shook the foundation of the most powerful denizens. Auberon was certain he could harness the might Set'. He mastered Kaiiro's ancient history, he learned about Griesha's Conquest through the Four Kingdom's and even the Massacre of Aldier. Despite the warnings written in blood, Auberon had been entranced by the power the deity displayed when he repelled the forces of Apocalypse. He knew where his predecessors failed to control the deity, and was certain enough to develop another devout following of similar minded zealots to resurrect the Temple of Set'. They called themselves the Disciples of Dao, and their existence was dedicated to resurrecting the child of Set' to defend them from the Horsemen's imminent return.

Before discovering the creature's resting place, Auberon unearthed knowledge of the only force known to be able to curb Set's Wrath. Sunlight, it weakened the deities power and weaponizing it was the only feasible method of herding its child. A staff was forged from that of a dying star, and could generate a supernova's worth of solar energy at a time and Auberon planned to use it as a cattle prod on whatever crawled out of the ancient tomb.

They waited until nightfall to resurface the mystical coffin and dispell the litany of charms binding it closed. Auberon and his disciples were ready to greet their messiah, but nothing could have prepared them for what crawled out. She was released in a controlled environment; a tiny cell built of enchanted metals that harnessed the power of the sun. They knew the child would be weakened from years of slumber, so a score of sacrifices were waiting for her, and the delicate rhythm of their quickening heartbeats were the first sounds she heard when she woke.

She devoured the small tribute, regaining just enough of her strength to regenerate her flesh and bone. Auberon was shocked to learn the identity of his God belonged to a child who didn't look older than his acolytes. But what mattered was her response to the solar powered panels built in the walls. The girl could barely lift her head from the floor, which meant the legends were true. With the power of the sun, The Devil could be manipulated.

Qarinah remained captive of the Disciples of Dao for hundreds of years while they ran experiments to study the extent of her powers and weaknesses. They exploited her aversion to sunlight to manipulate her deeds that benefitted the Temple. They trained her where they could, and conditioned her like an attack dog. With her incredible abilities she spearheaded assassinations of powerful rivaling leaders, she scalped their fortresses of their resources, she was the literal one man regime of the secret council of Dao.

It wasnt long before further research revealed that Auberon could become a vampire himself by ingesting Qarinah's blood and he extended that blessing to only himself and a chosen elite. But upon doing so, Qarinah discovered not only could she influence their thought once they ingested her black blood, she could draw strength from those she turned. There were at least a hundred powerful sorcerers she watched ingest her fluids, and with each one her might magnified. She mastered her thrall in silence, witnessing them descend into voids of their own power and ego. When she saw her opportunity she pounced, forcing them to free her and slaughtered her way to freedom. Auberon escaped with his staff along a small caravan of his most loyal.

Qarinah squatted at Auberon's blood stained temple and used it as her personal sanctuary until the sun fell. She fed on the city during the night and spent her time reading the volumes of grimoires stocked in their libraries during the day. Eventually she garnered and memorized a powerful repertoire of encantaions and used her them to veil her temple from the sight of others, and the blister of the sun.

Qarinah had been alive for almost a thousand years and had been free for all of a century. And during those hundred years, Qarinah was drunk on her primal urges. The sheer mention of her name shortened the breath of every being within earshot of The City of Knull. She was young, vengeful, and murderous. By the end of the century, her invincible body had torn the massive territory into a corpse ridden wasteland. Her wrath had no formal direction; Auberon may have fanned her rage but Qarinah's insatiable hunger drove her decisions. She only fed on the strong. She turned and infested the rest. Before she knew it, there had been enough of them to build her own Coven that dominated the City of Knull. The dark hellscape was soon renamed The Dao Empire, and Sun never seemed to breech its grisly gates.

Once a month, the massive country moved as one when the moon's swallowed the sky. The Dao Empire rolled through Vescrutia every full moon in droves of quaking bloodlust. Like a plague, in every sense of the word. They left nothing but puddles of death in their wake, but it wasn't long before Qarinah's warpath caught up with her. And the hunters became the hunted.

The XIII Holy Apostles

The Empire of Dao reached the end of its dynasty when the dark army invaded the sacred lands of Shi'aN. There, Qarinah learned of the power of other gods. Angels in particular.

She lead her blood thirsty regime to floating mass of land, centered around a beautiful cathedral that radiated power. Qarinah was a teenager now and more confident in her power than one could explain, but she and her Coven of no less than four thousand, were humbled when they breeched the massive doors of the cathedral by thirteen mysterious figures draped in robes and silver trinkets. They were the XIII Holy Apostles, chosen protectors of Vescrutia and Sentinels of The Ivory Order. Their bodies were avatars of the Holy Animas they worshipped; Ancient, Valiant Warriors who stalked the cosmos In a tireless search for the center of darkness. They were believed to be angels or at the very least envoys of some benevolent, omnipotent entiy, and the citizens of Shi'aN worshipped this legend. Their faith was rewarded and the most devout of these zealots were empowered by these arcane fables.. and they were waiting for Qarinah.

The gnashing sea of vampires were met with blessed axes and swords that seared their invincible bodies and exorcised their immortal souls. Fear swallowed The Daughter Of Set' for the first time in a millenia; she witnessed her entire Coven slaughtered before the Sun rose. She was kept in a coffin, buried at the core of the mighty Cathedral, chained up with the same holy metals that massacred her immortal army. There she would remain until The Horsemen Returned, where the Holy Apostles would use her to defend Vescrutia from annihilation.

Qarinah was known as the Mother of Bloodshed, Queen of Vampires, and she used her hypnotic thrall to beckon the forces of those she had turned to free her from her squalor. But the mighty Apostles rebuked any force forged in the name of Set'. The Apostles starved her, kept her on the verge of death as she had done to so many of her enemies..

The Body of Entropy
*3,000 Years Ago - Present Day*

She spent thousands of years trapped beneath the floating catherdral until the Apostles tried to bend Daughter of Set' to their will. They used torture, conditioning, hypnotism, and every resource at their disposal to rewire Qarinah's ideals. She outlived the warriors who captured her, but the Apostles were reincarnated whenever their physical bodies decayed and their methods were passed down like heirlooms. Enoch was the youngest of the Apostles; an anointed and powerful warrior but a compassionate boy who had never known the spoils of flesh. The touch of a woman. He was tasked with reconditioning Qarinah, but was smitten the second he laid eyes on her. Without her magics, she captured him, and his compassion melted her.

Their relationship would be discovered and Enoch would free Qarinah at the cost of his life. Her rage overcame her, and she unleashed her true form for the first time since she was born. She has no recollection of what happened, but when she awoke the sacred lands of Shi'aN had been reduced to a crater massive enough to basin an ocean. The cathedral, the Apostles, all of it was gone and the sun was on the verge of dawn. With barely any strength left, Qarinah clawed and burrowed her way into the earth and waited for nightfall before she regrouped.

She took her time to pick up the pieces.

Qarinah slept for a few centuries before rose from the saundered ashes of Knull and chose to rebuild. Strengthened from her slumber, she chose to preserve her long, lasting life and sought methods to defeat the horsemen when they arrived. Doing so would honor the memory of the only human she'd ever been fond of, and would prolongue her life.

Qarinah traveled Vescrutia during the darkened hours until she found other powerful warriors who lamented the coming Apocalypse as much as they conditioned for it. She constructed a powerful castle upon the bones of Knull and taught her magics to any being powerful enough. Soon she honed her feedings only to creatures and warlocks who boasted otherworldly might. It wasnt long before her quest for power drew her to the Astral. There she met Zeik, and learned the power of the Animus. For now, she remains a powerful ally to the Hellgate and has sharpened her wits against the forces that swell against them.

Unique Traits/Anthem

-Vampirism-

-Vampires are sentient beings that have typically traded their souls for higher power. Qarinah is undead but she is still sentient through the will of Set'.

-The only way they can sustain their existence is by stealing the life force of other living beings - this includes stealing souls but mostly by drinking their blood.

-Vampiric Physiology-

-As a walking corpse, like all vampires, Qarinah is not subject to the passage of time and has an infinite lifespan.

-Vampires have black clotted blood and necrotic organelles. Their circulatory system and digestive system however had been repurposed and merged with their skeleton. Their skeletons are pinkish in color and work to pump their "blood". They are incredibly durable, stronger than any natural component or element. Her fangs and claws are virtually unbreakable.

-Her body can heal from any wound regardless of severity and is immune to diseases or poison. However, she needs to feed on blood to sustain that life. The more damage she takes, the longer it takes.

-Qarinah possess otherworldly metrics of strength, speed, and agility accumulated from the millions of souls she's drained over the years. Her senses can track someone's blood across the globe and further should she use magic. Her speed can unravel the compound theories of relativity. But Qarinah's physical might is perhaps her greatest weapon.

The Power of Set'

-Set' is a multidimensional deity and keystone to a cosmic pantheon that represents essential forces across the known realms. Set' is The Body of Entropy, the abstract singularity of chaos, destruction, and decay. A God of Death. His power brought her life, and Qarinah can dip into this vast pool of Naten to generate incredibly destructive phenomenon, capable of collapsing space or even disrupting the intangible (i.e. ghosts, spirits, naten, energy constructs, organic or inorganic material) This power source usually manifests as a golden energy.

Skills and Abilities

Suhn Eater
Stage C- Cea
-Qarinah compresses an acute amount of gold, destructive Naten in her mouth. After she collects enough, she destroys it, generating vortex of power deadly enough her to vaporize her target and everything within a vast diameter of the attack. Only Qarinah's skeleton remains, which takes time to considering the amount of energy required to use it. But If completed, this ability can carve gashes across the face of the planet.

-Shape Shifting-
Stage B- Bea
-Qarinah can take on the form or emulate the voice of any creature she has devoured in the past. And by using magic she can transmogrify herself into variety of imaginative creations such as; a swarm of bats, a plume of toxic mist, an enormous spider, a cluster of panthers, a demonic bear, a humanoid twister of fire, or a bird, snake, lion hybrid. The possibilities are mind boggling.

-Blood Magic-

-Feeding-
Stage B- Bea
-As a vampire, Qarinah must drink the blood of her victims with her fangs to survive but she can also drain their life by merely touching them with her hands. She can even drain a person's very soul.

Qarinah has inherited copious volumes of knowledge and abilities that were originally restricted to selective bloodlines.

There is no limit to the amount of blood her body can hold, but her body metabolizes it quickly. Too much at a time can send her into a bloodlusted frenzy. The life-force of her victims swims through her, but utilization of their abilities boils the blood in her reserves. To do so carelessly would starve her in minutes when she could usually last years. So far these abilities consist of:

Telekinesis
Stage B- Bea
-Qarinah can bend matter to her will using her mind(s). She uses this to fly or as an amplifier to her every physical feat.

Teleportation
Stage A- Ava
-Qarinah can rematerialize her body anywhere from memory or in her sight of vision..

-Hypnosis-
Stage B- Bea
-Qarinah's most utilized method of blood magic. Using either her voice or her gaze, she can impose her will on any living creature. She tangles the victim's subconscious in an elaborate labyrinth of illusions, thus allowing her will to command their bodies. It takes an incredibly powerful mind to shatter the veil and resist her commands, but it is not impossible.

-Oroboros-
-Stage C- Cee
-Qarinah marks her body with the blood of her enemies, forming a ritualistic seal upon her head and abdomen. Should the symbols complete, Qarinah can utilize a deeper realm of blood magic. Such as progressive motor possession or mental possession of the host.

-Infection-
Stage C- Cea
-By introducing her blood into a victim she has the ability to sire others into vampires. Doing so allows her to draw power from them or influence their will.

True Form
Stage D- Dea
-Qarinah has only transformed into her purest form twice in her life. She doesn't know how, but whenever she triggers this metamorphosis, she blacks out and becomes an entity of instincts, bloodlust, and destruction. She has no idea what it looks like.

Weaknesses

Qarinah's "invincible" body has its fatal weaknesses that she tries to keep hidden from the world. They bypass her bodies unatural defenses.

-Sunlight-
Boils her skin flesh and bone.

-Holy Magic/Enchanted Weapons- Similar Effects of Sunlight. Weapons infused with holy magic or blessed by a devout practioner can deal lethal damage to vampires. They can not heal from these injuries without feeding.

Personality

Qarinah has lived an incredibly long life, and has accrued several different legends. In her youth Qarinah was a deviant; an embodiment of every sin imaginable, driven by nothing but instinct and an inquenchable blood lust. She has ruled as an Emperor, been feared as a Warlord, worshipped as a God, even spent short stint as a lover, but most of Qarinah's life was spent being trapped, captured, or manipulated. Her unending current of enemies has molded her into a cold, rabid monster who personified her grisly monikers. She treated any and every creature she ever encountered as either food or trash.

As she matured, Qarinah's slacked moral code adjusted. She's become less murderous and vindictive of humans after falling in love and even more so since joing the Astral. She's become the leader of her own following of chosen individuals who seek power for incoming Apocalypse.

Still, Qarinah loves to display dominance, and will claim whatever she desires to have without much consideration for how it will affect others. She is also a gourmet, and her Temple is stocked with the bodies of powerful warriors she's killed. Whenever she needs to feed, she cooks herself a meal so she doesn't have to kill innocent people, but when her stocks run low she hunts for other mighty imgredients; be them man or beast.

She is a fearsome god and has a very indifferent behavior toward death. Despite her "maturity", Qarinah cares little to none about death and the millions of lives she has taken over the years. She is far more reserved and patient than her younger self, but she is a conquerer at heart. Her emotions are usually reserved for battle and feeding.

Weapons

Ghavel

A short katana infused with Qarinah's own blood and bone. The blade itself carries decaying properties on whatever it touches.

Griesha's Armor

Qarinah has a crippling fear of the sun and very rarely leaves her temple during the day. But should she ever have to be out when the sun is out, she wears the armor she built as an Emperor. The components are made of some of the world's toughest alloys. When inside, she stands a whooping 6'6 and is immune to the burn of the sun. Her already massive strength allows her to move rather nimbly despite the earth shattering weight of the equipment.

Ninjutsu

Element: Ice

-Cold Front-

Stage B- Bea
-Qarinah's body forces the temperature to drop drastically.

-Frostbite/Petrify-
-Stage A- Ava
-Qarinah can flash freeze objects with just a touch or a gaze. She can touch the ground swallow a vast area in ice that she can manipulate with various hand signs. If she touches organic tissue, its frozen black from the inside out. She can also use her eyes to increase the range of the attack

-Absolute Zero-
-Stage D- Dea
-Qarinah performs a single hand sign that drastically drops the temperature to absolute zero. At this temperature, molecules cease all movement and energy production is stalled to practically nothing.

-Ice Beam-
-Stage B- Bea
-Qarinah can fire focused laser like projectiles that can pierce, pulverize, but mainly freeze her targets. Usually fired from her finger or eyes.
