The great outdoors! The sky, the fauna, the flora! It was all so beautiful! So majestic! So Free and natural!

Bhumi ralphed whatever rancid stomach juice she'd been carrying with her right into the soul at the base of a pretty little sapling. "Ugh... shouldn't have passed on that food buddy offered, the trek almost fucking killed me." She maoned with a heavy groan. Weakly, she rested her forearms against the trunk of the tree before her and looked up to survey of her surroundings.

Had she any idea where she was? Nope. Nothing looked familiar to her, and everything just looked like wildlands.

Did she care? Not really. This was just the kind of place she was trying to find. An isolated area of free land that she could live off of until she figured out what she wanted to do with herself. It was comforting, being far away from normalized civilization, and reminded her of home... even if there were no other sisters around and nothing looked even remotely the same. It was the principle of isolation itself that was comforting, especially useful for sheltering the weakness she was feeling from less than peering eyes.

She'd just have to... survive. Bhumi hadn't any idea what that actually meant, thoroughly spoiled by the ease and availability of resources in the modern world, but she woouldn't be an amazon if she couldn't figure it the fuck out. She didn't have much time either, considering just how weak and sickly she probably looked.

It was amazing that she hadn't just dropped dead already. Tenacity and Pride refused her the notion.

Bhumi took deep and calming breaths, holding the air for as long as she could before exhaling fatigue and doubt. She flexed and contracted her fingers, focusing as hard as she could to muster up the minuscule amount of magic she had left and bubble it to the surface. While roughing it, old school style, sounded... exciting, her magic was will suited to survival in the wilderness.

With eyes shit tightly, and magic as honed and charged as it could be, without maximum exhaustion, she whispered a...

"Guren... Uda..."

And her eyes flared open with the marigold embers of Terra Forma's activation. They smoldered with aggression that matched Bhumi's unnatural determination, or was it stubbornness, to survive on her own. For as strong as the activation was, Bhumi wasn't foolish enough to forget that her time was less than limited. She clenched her fists tightly.

"I... I only have enough magic to search for a stream.... I can find food there..."

For sure, a stream was a fresh water supply, and there was bound to be fish somewhere along there. Those would help to build her strength and from there... larger prey was definitely on the menu.

She moved, trusting her magic not to lead her astray.

Bhumi rolled 1 6-sided dice:

Her trust was well placed. Terra Forma, at it's core, was originally used by the people of her tribe to mend any ailments in the surface of the Mother, usually caused by awry witches or those wily shinobi. Her trust in it was like putting her faith in Vescrutia, herself, not to allow one of her children to perish.

As she walked, Bhumi shed her clothing from the modern world. The blue and white vestments, labeled to be militia issued, meant nothing to her now. They hindered her staggered movement through the trees and brush of the wildlands, and without them she felt more at one with her magic and the nature around her.

The simmering in her eyes began to dim, but she continued forward, hungrily. A pleasant trade off was the growing symphony of rushing waters. Sweet music to her ears.

"WATEEER!!"

When Terra Forma's spiritual leading came to a close, Bhumi found herself exclaiming without meaning too. Finding clean water was a scarcity on the street, if it wasn't raining, and recently it NEVER rained. Even without food, water would be enough to remedied the severe dehydration she was probably suffering from, not that she knew.

The magic in her eyes was snuffed out as she collapsed to her knees next to the stream of fresh water. She breathed heavily, clenching at gravel and tiny rocks around her, before dumping her entire head into the stream, without any reservation, with her mouth open wide.

She sucked in as much water as her cheeks could hold and her throat could siphon without experiencing discomfort or choking. She rose her head, flinging her re-gilded locks beyond her head and running her fingers through them to wring the water and dirt out. It felt good.

"This feels sooo good!!"

See?

Bhumi couldn't resist the urge to dip her head back in the water and slurp up as much as he stomach for hold! Rotten milk and rancid fruit juice had nothing on the refreshing taste of fresh water. Not to mention the longer she kept her head under, the cleaner her hair got, restoring her sandy brown mop of matted locks back to their regal golden hue.

She tossed her head back with deep, satisfied inhale of fresh air. She could wash away all the dirt and grime of living off the street in this stream. A total body cleanse was something that she hadn't experienced in a really long time and she knew that she needed it.

She exhaled, unable to fight the quivering in her body that forced her to stand and wade as deeply as she could into the water. It was a pretty shallow river, probably streaming from a waterfall deeper upstream, but Bhumi didn't want to go searching. Not yet. This was good enough.

She splashed around, rubbing the waters on her dirty skin and scrubbing away the mire of city living. Metaphorically, and literally, she was abandoning it all here, in the stream. Self-sufficiency was the goal.

"Have I gotten taller?"

Bhumi asked, looking over herself after her vigorous scrubbing. Thoroughly cleaned and refreshingly rejuvenated, Bhumi looked over her shoulder briefly before looking down. It could be her imagination, and it probably was, but she couldn't help but feel like she'd gotten taller for the last couple of months, despite the malnutrition.

Speaking of which.

Bhumi's stomach grumbled her need for meat, which no amount of water gorging could satisfy. Tightly she grasp at her stomach, shaking her head. She'd been so preoccupied with sucking down water and cleaning that for a brief minute she'd forgotten her hunger.

Carefully, she waded out of the water and searching the grounds close by for the clothing she shed on her way here, in her spiritual trance. Finding just the top was enough for her, as she ripped it apart and tied part of it around her upper body and the rest around her waist as a loincloth, of sorts.

"Upstream, there was to be some kind of waterfall. If there is... then it's probably run off from a lake."

Stream linked to waterfall linked to lake linked to fish. It seemed like a perfectly logical outcome and a sound judgement call. Bhumi nodded her head in agreement, smirking a small amount to herself.

"This probably won't be as hard as I thought."

She began the trek, upwards, to find the waterfall.

Bhumi trekked lightly, or as lightly as a woman of her stature and build could. Even if she had been able to drink as much water as she needed to, she knew that the amount of magic that she had on had was minuscule. If she attracted the wrong kind of attention, predators, then she couldn't be certain that she could fend them off. She believed in her physical strength, and would relish in the challenge, but not on an empty stomach.

It forced her to fight the urge to invoke Terra Forma and let the small amount of magic she'd replenish lead her in another spiritual trance, too. She couldn't abuse the ability, or she'd become reliant on that and she didn't want to. If she abused it, she'd become addicted to it, and wouldn't be able to control herself. Just like turning down drugs... easy.

Bhumi hung as close to the stream as she possibly could, but remained hidden in the trees as she hiked upward bound. Predator creatures were a concern, but so were other people. She couldn't be sure she wouldn't run into other people that he the same idea as she had. Predatory creatures were easy to read and upfront about there ferocity, people were trickier beast, she'd experienced it first hand with her so called friends.

They leech off you and wait until your weak to stab you in the back. She wouldn't let anyone do that to her again. Reflexively, she clenched her fist tightly and continued the voyage.

People weren't the only thing on her mind about why she didn't stick like glue to the side of the stream and decided to hide herself in the brush. Smaller animals! If by any chance she came across some smaller, more easily overcome, herbivores then she didn't want to spook them.

She... didn't see any though. Not at a single moment while she walked and watched the river to her right did she ever see any small animals of any kind. No bunnies, no deer, no foxes or whatever things that would offer very little threat to her. There was never a single instance in which there was one drinking from the stream, the closer she got to where she thought the waterfall could be.

*Groooooowl*

The sound was low and guttural and it... hadn't come from her gut. She stopped walking, seized in her tracks by the sound of the unknown. It sounded large, definitely predatory and Bhumi wasn't sure where it had come from. She didn't want to move around careless, especially with the sun beginning to descend and the night falling.

*Groooooowl*

She heard it again. This time she slowly began to look around her surroundings. Nothing particular stood out besides a cluster of amber veins accenting a wall of black right before. She saw the stripes first...

It saw the entirety of her, and had been slowly stalking her ever since she took her first step into this forest. Her sour smell attracted itself attention more than anything else about her, and once she washed away the dirt it stayed for the crown of gold adorning her head. She saw no other animals because they knew this domain and who ruled it; Elyon the Black. The only reason he didn't pounce before it enjoyed the hunt, but she got to close to its home.

Bhumi's sapphire crystals locked with the golden orbs of the large cat, about twice her height in length with a body that probably weighed more than she could lift, and she swallowed... hard. She breathed, hoping to lose some of the tension that built up in her body. The worst possible scenario had dropped in her lap, but it was no sweat. Bhumi tussled with ferocious giants in the ring before, except she was well fed and rested, but this really wasn't that different...

Fuck

Elyon shifted himself, rising from his crouched position to stand at full majesty under the light of the setting suns. It made his golden eyes gleam with the murderous intent he's general presence oozed with, and his amber stripes glisten like rare treasure. He was a worthy find, and a spectacular trophy if he could be overcome.

No one had ever overcome him. Measuring about 30 ft in length and close to a half a ton in weight. He eyed Bhumi with all the weighted haughtiness of a proud predator who was able to end the hunt, since his prey looked well replenished and ready to be killed.

Bhumi didn't move besides clenching her fists as tightly as she could, and hoping that her "Tenacity and Pride" hadn't just written her obituary. She breathed easy, regulating herself and steeling her nerves like she did every day back in the cage, especially when she'd been first starting out. Bhumi had always been large, but there had been some women that trumped her in size. She overcame them and she could do this too!

*Groooooowl*

He growled one last time before...

*Rooooooooooar!*

He was already on her, jumping from his perch on higher ground to push this gargantuan woman to the ground and rip her apart!

"LETS GO!"

Bhumi roared back, happily, strafing to the right and dashing through the trees and into the stream where she turned around and squared off. She planted herself steadily, ready to become a wall against this massive beast's brutal assault. Fighting him in the water might not be the best idea, if his fur got wet then he'd just become that much heavier, but Bhumi figured it'd make it harder for him to move.

She really only had that amount of time to strategize before she could see his gold orbs pierce through the shadows of the trees and trotted out of the woods to stand against her. Just as quick as he'd done that, he was already pouncing again.

She braced herself and locked bodies with him, meeting his massive neck and jaw with her hands to stop him from chomping down on her face. She felt her feet sink deeper into the gravel beneath the river, but it only planted her sturdier in her place and asserted that she refused to be moved. Not by him. Not by anyone else.

Bhumi rolled 1 6-sided dice:

"CHEEEEEES!"

Bhumi screamed, successful in holding this massive tiger at bay for the moment. She flexed, straining all of her muscles and drawing out any and all amounts of physical strength that she could muster. While she was still weakened, the adrenaline of being in the moment, trading blows with a foe, arguably, more powerful than herself gave her all the energy that she needed!

"TO!"

She cried, taking her hands on his neck and jaw and pushing against him, lifting a foot to step forward and toss him to her left and into the stream. She took a second to catch her breath before she turned and squared off again, slighter lowered to the ground than she had been before and waiting expectantly. He looked proud, he was definitely mad now.

Elyon found himself, momentarily, overpowered and tossed to the wayside like a common tiger! He scrambled to recover as he hit the dirt, finding footing before anyone could find an opening in his defenses. This wasn't the first time Elyon had encountered someone with enough physical might to overpower him, but he was still alive, so that meant they hadn't been successful in killing him.

His gaze sharpened, and fixated on this woman before him, who wore a mockingly smug smile. He didn't growl this time, nor roar. The time for being boisterous was over. He stalked for a few slow, menacing steps, before pouncing!

Bhumi rolled 1 6-sided dice:

He bore down on her with the entirety of his weight, not one to be pushed aside again when he ruled this domain! Savagely, he closed the gap between them in one single bound, just as quickly as he recovered, and charged with the full intent to topple this wall!

She clenched her teeth, expecting a frontal assault, but not one of this magnitude. She wasn't at full strength, she couldn't flip him over her, and they met bodies... hard, just for her to find herself losing her footing and falling to the waters below with a splash.

He snapped and gnawed his massive maw at her, as she feebly held him at bay. She kept one hand firmly planted against his neck so that he couldn't lower it, and the other against the bottom of his head so he couldn't look down, but she could sense the blood lust in him. If she submitted this and doubted she could overcome him even for a second, Elyon would capitalize with all intent to end her.

It took most of what she had just to hold him off like this, and she couldn't hold her magic anymore! If this wasn't he exact situation to use it in, then she didn't know what was!

"GUREN... UDA!"

Bhumi rolled 1 6-sided dice:

Her sapphire eyes flared with the marigold smoldering of Terra Forma's activation. It calmed her down, and allows her to assess the situation at hand a little better. Elyon was a massive tiger and gargantuan size. He weighed much more than she could lift, even at full power. She couldn't deny that she still would have struggled against him, but she would beat him!

"Koha Balto."

She whispered quietly, taking her hand from his neck and slamming her fist against the gravel beneath the both of them. Just as quickly as she accomplished that, a slab of earth, not much taller than a Frisbee but about as thick as a 45 lb weigh, popped out of the ground. She rose her free hand to just about the place that it appeared and pushed against it, slamming the slab against the side of Elyon's head with extreme prejudice and force. Enough force to push him off of her, so that she could roll to her front side and pop up to her feet.

With eyes still brimming the marigold embers of her magic, Bhumi stayed resolved. She couldn't beat him with physical strength alone, total bummer, but at least she had her magic as the perfect back up.

For the second time, Elyon was pushed aside, but by the solidness of a boulder this time, something Elyon hadn't been expecting. He heard her strange words, she'd said them before, and shed her clothing, but he hadn't an inclination about there meaning. It didn't matter, he was staggered by her assault, but not put in the ground again. Unfortunately, he had been staggered enough to step away from her and free her from his ferocious death body press just as he felt her beginning to give way under his weight.

He recovered, a small amount of blood trickling down from the side of his head that had been hit by her rock. Elyon hadn't bleed in a long time...

Bhumi rolled 1 6-sided dice:

As clear head as she was right now, in tune with the nature around her, Bhumi didn't decide to take the defensive this time. Elyon had allowed her the time necessary to seize the offensive, something Bhumi excelled at doing, and she pressed her advantage. Happy to turn the tables.

She rose her hands about chin level and lowered her knees, only slightly, before tightly clenching her fists. She didn't move her feet at all, beside planting herself deeper into the ground below her, but her hands were an entirely different story.

"Koha Balto... Shis."

She called out, throwing her hands like she was throwing punches, the motions calling slabs of earth to liberate themselves from the ground around them and assault Elyon without reservation.

Those smoldering eyes of amber... Elyon couldn't help but relate them to the stripes across his raven fur. He wasn't sure what the connection was, if there even was a connection, but he really didn't have the time. Her magically slabs of earth pelted against him before he could move, and bore down on him to the point where he couldn't move, being staggered with the ferocity of her assault.

Bhumi rolled 1 6-sided dice:

ENOUGH!

A masculine voice bellowed, Elyon's amber stripes glowing to life much like Bhumi's burning eyes of magic. He wouldn't be outdone, and defeated in his domain, and not with the earth that belong to him. He roared his defiance, his eyes shooting open and looking with Bhumi's, sharing the smoldering quality of her Terra Forma, of course his ability had no such fancy title.

With her defiant roar, he repulsed the slabs of earth that had not yet made contact and recovered from his stagger, renewed in his drive to finish the hunt. She showed admirable skill and strength, but he'd played with her food long enough. He didn't pounced, but roared again causing the earth immediately around Bhumi to rise and seize her hands and force her to kneel.

Bhumi was shaken, even in her trance like state, by the look of his eyes, the fact that he'd been able to repulse her attack and that she'd heard his voice! That was the main thing that shocked her. In her stupor, the earth betrayed her, seizing her wrist and pulling her down to her knees, with her arms spread wide.

"W-what!?"

In that moment, the orange glow of her eyes burnt out and Bhumi was left with nothing but exhaustion and a hungering beast.

Bhumi rolled 1 6-sided dice:

Elyon couldn't believed that he'd been pushed to such an extent by this... girl. He growled lowly, slowing pacing over to her, knelt and afraid. There had never been one that forced him to use his earthen abilities during the hunt, but then this girl hadn't been as much of an easy kill as he initially thought that she would be. In fact, he was surprised she was so easily captured.

Girl... can you hear me?

The words fell on deaf ears. Without her magic active, Bhumi couldn't hear anything besides the vicious roar of a hungry tiger. She hardly quivered in fear, but the fear was there regardless as the tiger began to pace around her. Probably wondering from where he wanted to dig in.

She could feel his breath on her next and hear the rumble of his throat as he growled close to her face. She tensed, struggling against the restraints that this tiger had, somehow, created. Whenever he passed her front side, she could see that the glow of his stripes and eyes hadn't died down.

He was purposely making the restraints unbreakable.

"If you're gonna eat me, then do it you stupid tiger. Ain't nobody gonna fucking miss me anyway."

Bhumi yelled, defensive, just wanting this damned tiger to stop torturing with the wait time. It was nerve racking to see this tiger pass before her gave and then disappear behind her, just waiting and expecting when he would final sink those massive teeth into her flesh. Regardless, Bhumi never flinched whenever she heard him roar in defiance and in triumph.

Bhumi rolled 1 6-sided dice:

Elyon was thinking about it, more than that he wanted to. They fought, she lost and she was the most scrumptious looking morsel that had wandered into his domain in a very long time. He could practically smell the magic on her, and it made his mouth water even more than it usually did when he had the ripe meat of a fellow hunter before him.

He restrained himself though. The amber glow of her eyes and ability to manipulate the earth just didn't sit right with him, and so he couldn't bring himself to tear into her. No... she was different.

Girl... can you hear me!?

He stopped in front of her face and roared right at her, his mouth big enough to fit the entirety of her head inside and crush her skull with the closing his jaw. He close it and looked at her, searching for any sign of recognition besides the defiant wishes of being eaten that she spit at him without hesitation.

"Tch. Just do it already, damn!"

Bhumi spat, aggravated at not being eaten yet? She stared him deep in his golden eyes, recognizing that he was searching for something, but she wasn't really sure what. Perhaps why her eyes had been smoldering with magic before, but weren't now? She didn't have the magic necessary to activate Terra Forma again, and if she did then she definitely wouldn't still be sitting here.

Elyon narrowed his eyes before slamming her forehead against Bhumi's. The collision was loud and meant to hurt... her, but it was also Elyon transferring chakra to Bhumi in order for her to activate those eyes again. Whether she wanted to refuse or not, the resonance between his magic and hers, through the connection of their heads, forced her eyes to awaken with Terra Forma again.

Girl... can you hear me?

A male voice boomed in Bhumi's subconscious. The same male voice that bellowed in the middle of their fight and distracted her long enough for her magic to run out. Now her magic was back, thanks to this tiger and there was a voice.

Elyon removed his head and looked at her.

"Yeah, I can hear ya, fuck is this?"

Uncultured. I am Elyon, and you're my food.

Bhumi scoffed, clenched her fist and focusing on the earth around her wrist so that she could break the hold. Unfortunately, Elyon's grasp and magical power outweighed hers currently. She huffed, frustratedly.

"I don't think so, Elyon, once I break these restraints I'm gonna go back to kicking your ass."

She offered as a spirited rebuttal. She had him on the ropes once she'd been able to activate her magic. She continued to struggle against his restraints, but without making any actual headway.

You come onto my land, you fight me, you lose. You are food.

It was simple as that, and Elyon hadn't become comfortable enough to seat himself. He remained standing, pressing the weight of his size and victory over her. Despite her words, her struggles were in vain.

"Yeah, well, whatever. I was only lookin' for a place to stay. I didn't think it'd be inhabited by a fuckin' magically lion, alright?"

Bhumi replied saucily. Whether her struggling was in vain or not, she wouldn't know until it was actually all over. Elyon wanted to talk, so she'd let him and get the time she needed to break his restraints.

I'M A TIGER!

Elyon roared in reply before composing himself.

Aren't you human? If you not hunting me, then why come here? Humans settle together.

Bhumi stopped her struggling and glance at him before closing her eyes and going back to trying to focus her magic.

"Yeah, well, I ain't human and... my settlements all gone now, dig? Humans ain't the fucking best at makin' everyone feel welcome neither, so that's why I'm here."

Elyon pondered her reply briefly. She must have been a member of that settlement that vanished from the skyline that he could see from his cliffside. He'd hailed from there as well, but found it much more peaceful and relaxing here.

Your eyes? What is that?

Elyon inquired, curious about the amber glow than he was about anything else. Her not being human was irrelevant to him, she'd still taste delicious regardless.

"It's my magic, I'm magic. 'Sides, so are you, you can do the same thing, can't cha?"

His throat rumbled with a hum of thought. So that's what it was, and why he felt so uncomfortable with eating her face. He felt a strange affinity with her.

I won't eat you.

He declared, much to Bhumi's surprise. She stopped her physical struggling, but not the focusing of the small amount of chakra that Elyon had shared with her. She opened her eyes.

"Wha? Then could you let these restraints go?"

You are not at full strength.

"Naw, I haven't been. All I've had is water, which... hold a sec."

Bhumi, her adrenaline finally dying down, tossed her head over and vomited the excess water in her stomach out. At that moment, she'd focused enough of her magic to shatter her earthen restraints. It was the perfect moment too, since she lost consciousness and face planted right in her vomit.

Bhumi regained consciousness in the den of the beast, Elyon, tossed across a few scrapes of fabric, of unknown origin, and surrounded by the bones of lesser animals, humans include. She shot up breathing deeply, thinking she was still face down in the water, only to cough and hack after taking in too much air at once. She took a look around, searching for Elyon, but looking for the exit more than for him.

"Shit, indebted to a fucking tiger."

Bhumi cursed, balling up her hand and slamming it against the mound of black fur curled up beside her, causing Elyon to spring to life and pounce on her with intense ferocity and bloodlust. Bhumi was caught between the ground and his massive body, turning her head to the side so that her face didn't end up in his mouth. She rose her hands as best she could, defensively.

"Alright, alright, my bad didn't know you were there."

Elyon closed his gapping maw and looked her over before pacing away, far away, from her and her hands and laying back down to fall asleep. It was the middle of the night after all, and Elyon only liked to hunt during the day. Most times, he allowed the night to be the time that people wandered in, and in the morning he searched for anyone that had been foolish enough to stay.

Bhumi, really was tired, she could tell by the palpable feeling of starvation. She mustered the strength to rise, through determination and pride, and slunk over to the entrance of the cavern that Elyon had made his den. She stared out into the expanse that he called his land, noticing that they were right underneath where the waterfall fell and that there was a path to the right that lead upwards to the lake. When she looked down more intently, she could see where her and Elyon had traded blows, as well as where she'd first come into the forest. He'd been tracking her ever since she came in.

Quietly, she slunk out of the cave and dragged herself up the pathway to the highest point on the cliffside. When she got there, just as she surmised, she saw a river and a miniature forest surrounding it. Like a repeat of before, she collapsed at the edge of the lake, clenching at the dirt beside her and dipping her head deep into the lake, without any reservation, with her mouth open wide.

She sucked in enough water to quench her dry throat and tossed her head back while running her fingers through her golden locks to wring the water and dirt out. She held her hair, turning her head to look up at the moons in the sky. Quietly, she closed her eyes and began to hum.

Bhumi spent the whole night trying to fish. There were fish in this lake, ones that were safe to eat with a little fire, which she'd remembered how to kindle from her amazonian survival training. Unfortunately, Bhumi didn't have many utensils to fish with besides a stick that she'd fashioned into a makeshift spear.

Into the morning hours, Bhumi stabbed at the water, hoping to spear something that she could finally fill her grumbling stomach with. All her grunts and groans, ho's and ha's roused Elyon from his slumber and forced him to join her in her silly attempts at gaining sustenance. He, of course, needn't fish, for her could easily intercept any of the morsels that were roaming her lands below, but he couldn't bring himself to leave Bhumi to her own devices.

"I got it this time, damn it!"

Bhumi grumbled, thrusting her spear aggressively at the water and completely missing the fish that she was attempting to impale. Frustrated, she snapped the spear on her knee and plopped down on the ground angrily. Water had been sustaining her for the most part, but she definitely needed food soon, because she doubted she'd turn into a plant.

Perhaps foraging is more your speed, not quite the hunter.

"Shut it."

Bhumi snapped back to Elyon without looking at the large cat that sat curled close by the fire Bhumi had kindled. She really didn't need his two cents when it had been so peaceful when he was asleep. If she couldn't catch a fish, then she just wouldn't eat. There was no fucking way she was gonna give up on meat.

She jumped back to her feet with a defiant huff. Snapping her fingers, her eyes flared mildly with the amber glow of her magic and she shut her eyes tightly.

Bhumi rolled 1 6-sided dice:

"There!"

She explained, forcing a spear of earth to shoot out of the ground and into her hand, which she thrust into the water at a fish that was unsuspectingly swim across her line of sight. She clenched her teeth, her eyes widening brightly as the tip of the spear grew inches closer to the side of the fish that she was going to cook over the open fire. She was practically salivating already.

Only, the fish swam away seconds before the spear was capable of piercing it and Bhumi was left, once again, fish less. She cursed, inwardly, with a string of curses in another language. She couldn't understand why this was so hard to do. Comparatively, fighting Elyon had been an easier task than this shit. Probably not... but she was frustrated damn it!

She was an Amazon, a Cage Fighter, and someone that wrestled with a magical tiger and almost won if she hadn't ran out of magically power for god's sake! How could the simple task of fish be the one challenge that she couldn't overcome. She'd give up and just hunt a small animal down in the woods below, if she didn't have the feeling that Elyon would refuse the notion... heavily.

Bhumi rolled 1 6-sided dice:
1

All she needed was one.

All needed was one success and she knew that she would be able to do it again and again for the rest of her life. There was a saying about giving a woman an fish versus teaching her how to fish right? Bhumi couldn't remember it, she wasn't a proverb type of girl.

She ripped her spear out of the ground again and set herself up for piercing a fish again. This time she took a few breathes, figuring that she'd wait longer to thrust and try to predict the fish's swim pattern. She was always thrust at where the fish was, rather than where the fish will be and that's probably why she was failing? Question her logic, I sure as hell am.

She rose her spear hand to about ear level and pushed her other hand forward to act as a targeting window. She kept a fat juicy looking fish in her sights, just knowing that it would taste the best if she was capable of spearing it. She held her breath, steeling herself as she thrust her spear forward...

And missed!

"Fucking shit!"

Bhumi rolled 1 6-sided dice:

Her frustration couldn't be contained any longer. Her anger was untethered and her rage knew no bounds. The magic in her eyes responded to her very aggressive emotions and spilled out of the corner of her eyes as she lowered her hands, instinctively, and rose them up quickly.

The depths of the rumbled before a hailstorm of spears shot out of the water, all of them with numerous fish impaled all the way through. She used Terra Forma to predict where fish would be used enough spears that it would be impossible to miss. She flipped her left hand over, keeping her right hand rose to the heavens, and pulled it back, which forced the spears to alter their flight paths and stab themselves into the ground around herself, the fire and Elyon. With this amount of fish, she'd be well off for a while, unfortunately, she really didn't have the magically power necessary to accomplish what she'd just done...

The magic in her eyes was snuffed out and her sapphire orbs returned to normal before they rolled to the back of her head and she collapsed to the ground. Passed out again.

Bhumi wasn't out that long. It was like taking a quick afternoon nap. When she awoke, Elyon was gone, but all of the spears and fish remained, and the ones that landed around the fire hadn't burned, but been charred to a decent consistency. Bhumi wasn't a cook, but it damn sure smelled delicious.

She forced herself to her feet and dragged herself to the fire, collapsing to the ground beside one of the spears with the cooked fish. She smirked happily, lift her arm to rip the spear out of the ground and nom on the fish to finally get some delicious meat in her stomach. She'd definitely eat all of the cooked fish. The rest?

She'd figure it out later.

It took Bhumi a couple of days to go through the massive haul of fish that she'd reeled in, without actually putting a dent in the population of the fish in the lake, and recover the bulk of her strength. Things hadn't been exactly smooth sailing though.

On the first day, it was a little touch and go. She came down with a massive fever that took all of her willpower and grit to get over. Malnutrition wasn't a joke and she continually overexerted herself because of her defiant stubbornness. If Elyon hadn't taken a shine to her and nursed her, then Bhumi's life would have ended in his cave.

The week that followed, Bhumi slowly regained her strength and learned to fish more traditionally, without the usage of her magic. She wasn't anywhere never the specimen of physical superiority that she had been during her days in the cage, but out here with Elyon it didn't matter. It was peaceful and she could just live.

She didn't get soft though, not when the week after that she regained the bulk of her strength and put on a few more pounds and a couple inches in not only the height department but the circumference of her biceps. We rejoin our heroine here.

---

"Guren Uda."

Bhumi said, igniting the marigold embers of Terra Forma in her eyes as she stretched her body in front of the lake that she'd made her home. Behind her there was a simple hut, made of rock, that Bhumi conjured the stones for, but placed and hammered into position by hand. She never wanted to become too reliant on her magic, and so building her house by hand was the best way to remain independent when she could probably have just conjured the hut with enough time and concentration. She was much too hands on for that.

Training again, Bhumi?

Elyon's masculine baritones bounced around her head as the mighty ebony tiger, with amber stripes, climbed the path to the lake and nestled himself on a perch nearby. He'd grown fond of her determination, as well as her companionship. Since they were both outcast, of sorts, he found a sense of camaraderie in her.

"You got it. I can't just sit around and get fat cuz life is so easy out here."

She couldn't get comfortable just because she accomplished her goal of becoming self-sufficient out in the wilds. Bhumi couldn't say she was a goal-oriented person, but she always strove to meet challenges and she'd exceeded her own expectations in less time than she gave herself. Training was the only thing that could keep her pushing forward. If anything came to mind, then she wanted to be in tiptop shape to challenge Elyon to another wrestling match and win.

Thinking about it, Elyon never mentioned their first skirmish, nor did he ever mention why he allowed her to live. In all the days that they'd shared company, he left her to her own devices while he hunted like everything was normal. Bhumi tried not to really dwell on it, but could only think that the way to repay his kindness was to give him a fight that he was probably looking for.

"Koha Balto!"

Terra Forma was just as much a spectacle of physical movements as it was mystical conjuration. Contrary to her more... ethereal relatives (other witchlings), much like her physical presence, Terra Forma was more raw, corporeal and fitting to Bhumi. It didn't mean that it couldn't be more airy, but Bhumi was never the delicate type.

She stomped her feet in rapid succession, raising massive slabs of earth as tall as she was out of the ground, numbering four on either side of her. She brought her hands together with a thunderous clap, interlocking her fingers together and forcing the slabs to collide with each other and meld until there were only two titanic obelisks to her left and right sides. Combined, she imagined they were around twice her weight, if not three times, so anywhere between 400 to 600 lbs of solid stone.

"Pentra."

Her control had grown, to where she could just speak the spell extensions and get the same effect as speaking the entire mantra. It wasn't that much of an improvement, she could still fly off the handle and abuse her magic in the process with powerful emotions, but it helped with rapid engagement. Made Koha Balto a more defensive spell, while Shis became much more offensive and Pentra the more versatile of the three.

She pulled her hands apart, raising them in the air, forcing a stick of earth, to act as a barbell for the enormous blocks of earth, to eject itself out of the ground. Once ejected, Bhumi snatched it out of the air, twirling it around in her hands before she slammed its butt down on the ground.

Have you been lifting more, recently?

Elyon inquired, curiously. He stood from his seated position and paced to the cliff's edge in order to peer out upon the expanse of his claimed land. He caught the smell of other creatures and could see them moving about down below. No humans, none like Bhumi, but it didn't deter the hunt.

"More or less. I don't have a way to accurately measure the weight of these rocks. I just lift them."

Bhumi replied, stabbing one end of the pole in her hands into the boulder on her left and then turning to jam the other end into the other boulder. Asfar as she was concerned, it really didn't matter to her how much the boulders weighed, because she would lift them. It they weighted a little more than normal, then she just pushed that much harder to do her workout regardless. She refused to quit.

Once the pole was secure in both the monoliths, Bhumi used her fingers to delicately seal the pole inside of the rocks by running her fingers around the insertion point and smoothing the intersection with a small amount of her sculpting ability and skill with her magic. She cut it off completely when she was finished and turned towards Elyon. He looked as majestic as ever while standing there on the cliff side and looking down at the prey on his hunting grounds.

As the days went by, she began to understand him, even without her trance like state needing to be activated. She couldn't hear him talk, obviously, but she could guess at what he was probably going to say or do. They'd gotten pretty close, despite their initial meeting and she could tell, by his posture and general air, that it was time for the hunt.

She caught herself before her observations because a fit of admiration, turning away with a small smile, finding herself thinking of Elyon as a friend, a genuine one, even if he tried to eat her face on several occasions. She stood, clutching the barbell and lifting it, and the boulders it was attached to, off the ground, without much effort, to begin with some overhead presses. A thousand or so were the norm, and should be enough before she moved on to the next exercise. Business as usual, just like being in gym while training for the next fight.

Bhumi strained to complete her last set. The muscles in her arms and legs bulged and rippled in opposition to the commands of their central control. She grit her teeth and pushed through the monumental wall of resistance that was being pushed against her, breathing heavily, but under control and normal.

"Come on damn it, move!"

She screamed in obstinacy, slowing rising from her squat with her hands firmly gripping the pole behind her neck with practically enough force that if unchecked, for even a moment, she'd snap the bar in half. She refused to be brought down by weight that seemed negligible this morning, but got progressive harder to work with as the sun moved across the sky and began to disappear. Her eyes stung with the salt of perspiration, and her body begged and pleaded for relief, a luxury she refused to grant until she pushed this construct into the waters in front of her.

"This is... the last one. Work with me!"

She encouraged her body to comply, puffing as she rose gradually. With one last push, she stood fully, launching her arms up in the air sending the barbell and boulders into the lake with a booming splash. Finally, she wiped her brow clean of sweat and lifted her head to allow the spray of water, caused by her addition to the lake, to wash over her for a refreshing and reinvigorating shower. Just the cool sprinkle she needed after a day of working herself to the core.

Elyon joined her, perched on the top of her hut to avoid the watery cataclysm she'd caused in triumph. He had been far too busy to watch her the entire time, but he was able to catch the last of the show, after eating his meal, and enjoy the spectacle with meat still locked in his monstrous paws and being ripped apart by his huge teeth.

She glanced at him over her shoulder, but didn't say a word. He was much more preoccupied with eating that conversing, and she still needed to spear her dinner too. She collected her hair in her hands and tied it back in a loose ponytail before briskly jogging to the lake, snatching the spear she kept beside the water's edge up, and diving deep into the waters.

This worked as her shower, cleansing her body of all the sweat and fatigue of a hard day's work. If there was ever a moment were she felt truly relaxed it was lifting three times her body weight and feeling powerful, but also when she had this time underwater to find food. It was a calming experience that she really wouldn't trade and had made her really appreciate swimming more than she ever had before.

It was an exercise in the patience that Bhumi knew she lacked. Also running full speed ahead, fishing was an activity that forced her to slow down and be deliberate with her motions, but far from predictable. In the water, the fish were in charge, and Bhumi was the underdog. They trumped her in everything from mobility to just general awareness and intuition.

It was basically the exact opposite of how Bhumi felt with both feet planted firmly on the ground. She felt weak, vulnerable, and horribly exposed. Even when weakened, she challenged Elyon on land with every intent to slay the beast when they had first met, but in the water the fish mocked her. They needn't speak, or show any expression besides their vacuous stares as they swam in their schools, but Bhumi knew they didn't consider her a threat and at the same time were skillful at evasion when she encroach on them with the bloodlust of a shark.

It was a slow learning process, took a week or a little over, for Bhumi to control her presence. She was used to being naturally imposing, but the fish could sense her as soon as she touched the water like that and they scattered before she was even fully submerged. Hiding from the foreign object while gleefully watching her struggle in her search for sustenance.

Now, at least beneath the waves, she could switch it, flip between nonthreatening and dangerous at a moment's notice. She lulled the fish into a sense of serenity, appearing none threatening, taking the time to watch for the largest and juiciest of morsels. She encroached slowly and calmly, figuring the most delicious were the most boisterous and that was when the flip came.

She appeared like a frenzied shark, striking at fish with her spear at speeds they couldn't effectively evade once she'd been able to encroach on their space. It didn't take long until the most prized when stacked on her spear and she was free to return to the surface. The other fish were safe because the hunt was over.

She resurfaced, her head piercing the water's surface before her hand and spear. At least, at the very least, there were ten fish stab through both their sides and Bhumi's other hand emerged from the deep and she pulled herself out of the surf and onto the earth once again. Gladly she grinned, proud of her hull, and she turned her gaze up to the top of her home where she lifted her spear for Elyon to see.

"I got some good ones!"

She could boast to him, he always did when it came to his own catch. The comparison was never fair. Terrestrial prey would always be larger than the fish in the lake. He boasted because he wouldn't let her hunt the big game, and so she boasted because he couldn't hunt the aquatic as effectively as she.

She pulled herself out of the water completely, resting her spear on her shoulder and walking to her shack where she'd built a fire. Bhumi would never admit to being anything close to an excellent cook. She ate what she could and charring the fish was the easy way for her to get the the food she needed. It would never taste as great as the food she had down at the Tavern, but it really didn't have too.

---

After eating, Bhumi exited her shack and climbed to her roof where Elyon stayed, waiting. It had become ritual for them to sit until one of them felt that sleep was necessary. Usually, it was Bhumi, who burned out quicker than the trained hunter Elyon, but that was because she used most of her energy training while it took him very little time to hunt and eat and the rest of the day was lounging.

Sometimes they'd speak. She'd used a small amount of her magic so that she could hear his voice, but it was never about anything in particular. Most times he asked more questions about the boulders she lifted and why, and she asked about the animals he killed and how. Typical dialogue.

Not tonight.

Bhumi sat with her legs crossed, resting her arms on her knees and staring up at the sky overhead. After spending weeks in this forest, Bhumi figured that it was probably about time for her to, at the very least, make an appearance back down on the main street. She had been one of the resident bums for a long time, people probably thought she'd died. Imagine their surprise when she came back, well rested, well fed, well exercised and most importantly clean! Unfortunately, that meant she'd have to leave Elyon for a while and she didn't really want too.

Quietly, she whispered her magic mantra and her eyes glowed with a soft marigold shine that would give her the ability to communicate with Elyon as normal. If she was gonna leave, there was something she wanted to know.

"Yo, Elyon, why didn't you eat me?"

Why does it matter?

Bhumi huffed, ignoring the smugly dismissive tone of his response. Damn cat. No matter how close they got, he was still a pretty mysterious creature who neglected to say anything of any major important about himself. She hadn't really told him anything about herself either, but the least he could do is tell her why he spared her life.

"Whatever, just tell me already, ya stupid lion. I gotta know."

Lowly a growl rumbled in Elyon's throat, Bhumi finding it amusing to strike at his disdain for being called the wrong time of large cat. He was certainly the king of the beast in this domain, but he hated being called a lion more than anything else. It was almost like a racial slur.

I do not know. Your magic was interesting, and your hide looked too tough to penetrate.

"Ooh. So that's it huh?"

Just her magic huh, and nothing more than that. She suppose she could see why he'd stop himself from eating someone that carried very similar powers to his own. It was still a shock to her that he was also capable of using the earth as he pleased. Bhumi's powers were more for repairing and creating caverns and canyons and the like. Carving streams and closing ones that weren't meant to be. That was until she ran away from home. Now, much like Elyon, she could do whatever she wanted.

"Wait... was that a crack about my weight or somethin'?"

Bhumi yelled, turning to look at the black tiger with a furrowed brow before she broke into laughter. He was definitely quite quippy, even for a conscious magic tiger with the pride of a seasoned warrior and the vocabulary of a studious scholar. She wondered where he got all of his knowledge, knowing how he'd come across his experience, and how he'd gotten magic in the first place. Were there others like him? Was he a mythological creature and she just didn't remember the stories her mother probably never got the change to tell her? How'd he get so damn big?

She guessed those were question for another day, when she returned from her trip back to civilization. She yawned a small bit, lying on her back and resting her head against the side of the tiger she come to love as a friend. He settled in, not going so far as to curl up around the girl he'd come to appreciate the company of, but finally lowering his head onto his paws.

"I gotta go tomorrow."

Good. Return to the humans. I never liked you staying around.

"Ah, shut up."

End.
