The tragedy that had fallen upon the Veritas had, like most things, a silver lining. Aura, very much not wanting to be swept up in either her Father’s or her Uncle’s mess decided that she would take after her Grandmother and find her own piece in isolation. Unlike her Grandmother however, who like the ice and cold, Aura had taken to the sunny tropics of the Fauste Archipelago, its largest island in fact.

Erecting a large iron tree amongst the Island’s jungles, Aura had made her home. The inhabitants, of course had taken a notice of her, the Horse-Bear creatures often seeing her gathering fruits and hunting amongst the jungle taken note of her swift kills and unmatched skills and while it was clear they had come to respect her presence, if not maybe fear it they had made a bad habit of showing it.

Aura, wearing a bikini, or rather wearing that of the Susano’O that resembled a bikini rested a hemic that hung down from her tree’s blade like branches, slowly swung side to side as she took in the sun. Looking up at the few clouds that came by her eyes protected by the shades she wore, enjoyed her day till, “GRYARYH GRYARYH!!!”.

*Sigh*

There they were, the Horse-Bear inhabitants coming to show their “respect” to the Alpha of the island…They had come with fruits and other foods, putting at the base of the Iron Tree they knew Aura called her home. On and on they screeched, did their little ritual really require some much…Annoyed Aura rolled around in her hemic, covering her ears trying to drown them out, to no anvil however. For a lot longer that she would of thought she’d last Aura finally cracked..

“Yeah, GRRYAH~ and all that, please LEAVE now!!”

The creature, having finally finished with their offerings began to leave and Aura, at least would have her peace back. With a heavy sigh she went back to her sun bathing, the day still young and well within range of redeeming.

Even in life when you succeed, there should never be a time that one forgets about their roots. In Mana's case, the single most important person in her development had been her sister. The moment Mana had realized that Aura had so easily surpassed her, not only in rank but also in terms of straight-up maturity and life experiences, she'd been driven to push herself further and become someone that her twin could see as an equal, instead of a little sister that needed protecting. But now... Mana could see that Aura was stuck in a rut. Since their last visit, Mana had achieved more than she could have ever dreamed of, but she couldn't be content while Aura existed without purpose, just another one of those hermit witches that someone had to quest for.

With this in mind, Mana set off from Kunishige's residence with no set destination; she navigated solely on the faint tug that she'd always been able to feel. It took days for her to set her feet on the right path, avoiding all sorts of terrors on her path along the Veritas' borders more than she had to quell the disturbances, thankfully. She hadn't realized how rusty in actual combat she was until she emerged with a few cuts and bruises.

Resting at an inn one night, Mana stared at her reflection with a frown, hating how a couple would likely become the first scars on her new body, and there weren't any real stories to go with them; just stupid mistakes when battling Insanity-plagued wildlife. Like the one there, on her shin from a wild boar that charged from the undergrowth and took her by surprise. Mana had only just managed to skip out of the way, but its giant tusks had grazed her leg. Though it had been nearly five times her size, she didn't deem it a worthy enough story, considering her new Ascension.

The longer Mana continued on, however, the stronger that inner tug became. Orianthi Aquatica forced her to the sky on a cloud of stardust, giving her time to rest her sore, blistered feet (it wasn't that the pain bothered her, but it certainly was pleasant, the relief). The smaller islands intrigued her at first, but she was absolutely certain that her sister wasn't there.

It was as she approached the largest island that Mana began to wonder why it was that her sister would be here at all. A brief glint of metal caught her eye as she sailed overhead, and there was something that just told her that Aura had made her home there. Drifting steadily downward, she peered over the side of her own construct, catching glimpses of strange creatures departing from the base of the tree. Their gait seemed to be the strangest of all; a brisk, yet lumbering trot carried them into the more natural trees with little effort, as comic as it looked.

Slowly, the girl with the star-clad mane drifted in lazy circles spiraling downward around the tree to avoid the sharp, bladed leaves that threatened to slice her up good if she strayed too close until she came to be level with her twin. Strange, then, how Aura could swing from a hammock so carelessly from the thick, strong limbs of her tree, clad in skimpy clothing to soak up the sun's rays.

"Aura?"

"What's that?" she wondered, taking note of a small dot fly overhead. It was up to high to be any bird from this habitat, and it was so rare for this place to receive visitors, especially ones who could fly. The dot began to grow larger as it descended, growing ever more shocked as she began to make out just who was coming her way, Aura rose to stand on her hammock, her balance still as sharp as ever, as to greet her....her Sister Mana.

Instantly Aura began to radiate feelings of joy and happiness, and for the first time in a long time Aura had reopened that sort of "Twin Bond" they shared, the bond that would always connect them to one another, she had been so scared to keep it open, too afraid at if she did...she'd feel nothing. The fear that Mana may have failed in her battle with Crux made Aura shutter at the mere thought, but now...now....she could feel Mana, see her alright and right before her.

"M-Mana..." Her words a bit broken up as the tears began to flow now.

"Mana!!"

He cried again as she lunged to her in midair, embracing her Sister in a tight embrace made toasty by her warm bare skin. Not giving a thought at all about the fact that they were floating several meters up in the air, Aura simply held on to her sister and got her tears out…it was always rare for her to show this type of emotion and right now…she was truly overjoyed, remembering that she wasn't alone…

Mana wasn't entirely sure what it was that she felt as her sister wrapped her up in a warm hug, contrasting with her wind-chilled skin. Of course, there was a sense of relief that accompanied being able to hug Aura so tight again, and a profound pleasure of the renewal of their twin-forged bond, but there was also a hint of guilt mixed with disappointment. Technically... Mana wasn't sure that she'd succeeded at all. Their aunt was dead, Mana had never the heart to check on the motherless child, and Isaac, the poor man... He had lost a woman that he had helped bring back to the light. Back in the last astral plane before death, Mana had seen just how much they meant to eachother, and she had added her own tears to Crux's loss, even if due to previous actions, there were far fewer than there had ought to be.

So it was a rather bittersweet reunion on Mana's part, and perhaps Aura could feel that in how stiffly Mana held herself. She'd thought that maybe she'd be able to forget after Koudo's birthday, but the young woman seemed glutton for self-punishment, as all her negativity came flooding back nearly the very same day she'd parted from his company. Would she always feel this way?

"Yeah, I'm here."

The small cloud bounced a little under Aura's added weight, but held firm. Mana herself smoothed a hand over her sister's back, with her chin nestled comfortably between Aura's neck and shoulder.

"But why are you still out in the middle of nowhere?? It took me days to find you!"

Pulling away slowly, Mana looked at Aura with perhaps the first frown that the very slightly older twin had ever seen on the younger's face. It was a mix of puzzlement, disbelief and disappointment... Hadn't they agreed that Aura had stuff she needed to do, just the same as Mana and her battle for survival? Did she really mean to say that she had just bummed around like this through everything going on?? While Mana hadn't expected her to go help out Koudo with Kage things, she should have at least helped out with threats to the village, being such an important person and all.

Aura’s expression had almost completely changed as she and Mana let each other go, her face almost instantly dry, as if she hadn’t just been crying at all and there was a small smile on her face. She had felt something; a quick peek into Mana’s heart, filled with sympathy and regret? Aura had almost forgot just how much their bond truly kept them connected, and open with one another and while she did feel a bit guilty about having use their connects to sort of spy on her Sister’s feelings, it wouldn’t be like Aura to simply forget and move on…

Now floating, or rather more simply like stand on the air in front of Mana, sparing her cloud the burden of carrying two Rituke Daughters. She began to descend walking pass her sister as she spoke, down stairs that weren’t there to the closest branch of her tree she could land on, her attention still fully on her freshly arrived Sister.

“What do you mean? I’m not in the middle of nowhere, I’m at my home!”

She gestured back to the large metallic tree behind her. Things like this had always interested Aura, even back when Aura and Mana actually acted their age she had always taken a fancy to either their Family’s Golems or Hakku’s inventions, frankly it was only a matter of time before she’d go off and make something like this, she was puzzled as to why Mana was so surprised…but she knew that wasn’t what she meant.

No…Mana was talking about their home, the Veritas. And while her more childish side wanted to spring forward and throw Mana’s “intentional” question back at her, Aura had long since outgrown such things, and from what she felt from inside her sister but a moment ago….so had she and besides, there would more than enough time for them to get this all out, she was sure of that.

Placing her hand upon the surface of the Tree’s Iron like trunk Aura, flicked for a second at the heat the metals had absorbed from the hot hot hot sun that day, a bit sad that clearly her Tree had gotten more sun time then she had but that was neither here nor there now that Mana was her, and so Aura had won this day…not her tree.

Instantly, the metal would warp its self, twisting and folding into the shape of grand threshold, a door giving entry inside to Aura’s fashionable home. Look up at her Sister, still pouting on her cloud, Aura would gesture her sister to come down, her eyes big and sparkling, and her lip quivering, a sort of plead that said “Forgive me and come inside”!

Inside was like a sort of Studio Apartment, a large open space with a kitchen, a living area and bed area to the far offside. As expected of Aura it was all mostly Modern furniture a save a few things clearly inspired by her teacher Hakku, for example her blinds that covered every inch of the walls here, and could project a multitude of background sceneries, such as beaches, the sky, that cute boy Aura saw the other (which she was lucky enough to have changed before she had went out), or its current setting which was a clear viewing of the area around them, the Tropic Jungle of Fauste Archipelago’s Biggest Island.

"Your 'home' is in the middle of nowhere."

Mana stated with a surprisingly no-nonsense tone. Still, she dispelled her cloud of stardust in a burst of magic, which she collected back within herself before the tip of a ankle-boot clad toe touched the metal of the tree. With its heat shed, she didn't have to worry about the melting of the rubber soles, but she did wince a little from the way the heel of her boot clanged against the tree. Making a metal note to keep her steps light, she sighed ever so lightly, feeling at once incredibly old and incredibly tired. Not to mention her feet complained with all their might in having weight upon their blistered and sore selves again.

"It... does look pretty cool, though."

Managing to shake off some of her weariness, the younger sister smiled, advancing along the limb to take Aura's hand with the familiar ease of kinship. Together, they advanced into the space, giving Mana the time to let her eyes roam. There had only ever been one trip that she had taken to Hakku's house, but she could see the similarities. At the time, she hadn't seen what was going on, but her rapidly maturing mind wasn't having trouble distinguishing the feelings her father had for his fellow kage when Mom was dead and gone. It made her think momentarily to the vaguely Witch-like flare she had felt from Koudo's direction when she had been sparring with Maina, but she reasoned that things hadn't seemed any different when he returned, so he most certainly could be trusted. Even when she had died, he had felt guilty about his relationship; there was no way Koudo would hurt her like that.

Impressed, her eyebrows shot up, starry eyes wide.

"The view is awesome!"

Even her growling stomach and parched throat from the journey couldn't distract her from the beautiful tropics that surrounded them. While not entirely sure that the view was true or magically mirrored (as Mana had figured out how to do with water and like surfaces not too long ago), it was nevertheless impressive.

Of course, as soon as she entered, Aura headed for Kitchen to grab her sister some food and drink, not having to hear the growls coming from her stomach, they were twins after all, and even after so long their form was still clean <3

Catching her sister gazing around, her eyes twinkling like when they were children again made Aura a bit giddy that her Sister liked her "In the Middle of No Where" Home. Indeed Aura pour her Sister's Drink with her head held high, and her chest puffed out a little bit more than usual.

"Her you go Mana."

Aura said handing her Sister a glass cup filled with a green liquid....uh Kiwi juice, and gesture her to sit over on the couches that looked outward toward the rather impressive view of the jungle that surrounded them. On the table between them and the window however, Aura placed a bowl all sorts of different fruits that could be found here; grapes, apples, etc. She did have meat but, taking the time to cook it however was a pain....and Aura wasn't very good at it...she wouldn't want to make Mana suffer through her rather...lacking cooking skills.

"So...are you going to explain?"

Aura said taking her seat in the couch adjacent to the one Mana was in, taking a sip of her own juice that she summoned to her grasps from out of thin air.

Her body language was rather nonchalant, and even her words had that sort of appearance but Aura had a way of making her true feelings known through the undertones of her actions. Again...Mana came to her different. The world was made for such a thing, to change people, mold them...but with Mana this time it was different. Even when she returned after dying, when Aura looked at her..she saw her Sister...but now...She looked at her and while she still same the Sister she loved so much, she saw so much more....she saw a person who had gone far beyond that of mortal men, she saw someone who's mere whispers could inspire millions, she saw someone who could weave life, someone who lived in a world far outside of Aura's....She saw her Father...

Place her drink on the table Aura simply waited to hear her answer...Her eyes, not cold yet not warm..it was a blank stare of a women who was on the edge of understanding...and she by all means needed to know.

What had happened with her Sister this time....and what part did their Father have in it.
