[[This is a semi-private topic! If you have means to get to Luxerion, please PM before joining! It's time for a Tamura family Thanksgiving!]]

While Mana was a great deal more Vescrutian-bound than her adoptive extended family (for the moment), it didn't mean that she liked to spend a good deal of time on Her surface. Most of what she'd known her whole life was gone, and the Labyrinth seemed so empty and strange since her extended absence. Even the Wind Sprites had relocated, drifted off without their mistress, leaving the grand halls more spooky than inspiring.

Before she'd departed, Mana had set a gift for both her father and sister in their respective haunts (Maze's study, and Aura's sleeping quarters (though the latter lay heavy with the stale air of neglect)). For Maze, she'd left a card in her very much improved handwriting, and a plate of warm cookies, with a thermal null-sphere to protect and preserve them that would pop upon breach by the intended recipient. Within the card, she expressed her desire for a family dinner sometime... A sentiment shared with the letter she'd left for Aura.

Knowing her twin would not likely return to their childhood home any time soon, she left a spelled display of fall flowers, including within the bouquet a myriad of leaves touched by jack frost. The lovely orange and red and yellow hues would keep by very much the same magic, while the oils within the leaves and petals would grow into fascinating new formulas thanks for the lack of oxygen and other external stimuli. Eventually, they'd be positively mindblowing... But that depended on when Aura decided to pay the family a visit.

At any rate...

It's thanksgiving! While Luxerion itself didn't possess greenery to change to the whims of the season, the satellite had its own way of celebrating fall, in the form of brilliant auroras that danced for hours every night. It was something that Mana had yet to see in person, and she found herself growing excited at the thought of tonight's festivities. It was only afternoon as the star-clad woman appeared not far from Koudo's home with her arms filled with all sorts of goodies. She'd brought a couple side-dishes and a couple desserts, recognizing that it might have been a little difficult to go grocery shopping way up here. At the same time, Mana couldn't wait to discover what the Tamura family had discovered up here to live on.

The crystalline structures vibrated lightly upon her initial arrival, as if it could remember her last visit. She grimaced as she set her bundles on one hip and knelt down to touch the shimmering ground, seeing her celestial mane reflected in the trembling plantlife.

While she was out here, away from the planet of her birth and surrounded by heavenly bodies of her own creation, her magic positively surged forth in an effort to make her as glowy and strange as it could. With a softly glowing fingertip, she touched the nearest fern-like plant to share a brief apology and explanation. The satellite's simple collective consciousness was slow to respond, but Mana knew that it wasn't so afraid of her by the way the tiny vibrations quieted, and shifted instead to sipping from her magic reserves as tribute for the wrongdoing. This left a slight glow in her wake as she shifted her weight to rise, and highlighted her footprints as she made her way to the building she'd once called home.

It was, honestly, just a normal day for the people of House Tamura. Odea sat at the bar, entertained by the sounds of a beautiful piano sonata flowing out of the jukebox in the front room and the taste of the red wine in her wine glass. Yui found joy in resting in her room while bothering Okami with tales of wondrous exploration the wolf had been company to in the first place. Lastly, of course, was the man of the house who sat at his desk in the front room, lulled by the piano play while he read over documentation about various unimportant things.

While the world of Luxerion was a fantastical treasure trove of unexplored secrets and mysteries, it wasn't often that the family bothered with exploring it. They were taking their time to get settled, comfortable in this new environment, and Koudo had suggested they take that time so he could study the fauna and flora to know what could and couldn't be hunted. The sage in him refused to allow huge disruption in the cycle of life on this juvenile world.

The more pressing fact of the matter was that they weren't aware of Mana's sudden approach, well a few of them weren't, or that today was some sort of holiday for her. To them, it was just a day of relaxation in preparation for more crucial events later down the line. What made this autumn day so special?

Well, Mana had absolutely no idea that her surprise drop-in would be foiled by something as obscure as cultural differences (her father was Reality-native, and thus technically of a different world than Vescrutian-natives!) as she marched up to the front door. She found it strange how the plethora of animal friends she'd grown so fond of didn't even find it prudent to investigate her scent, or her magic. While she'd toned her magical signature down to a bearable level, for any aware of such things, she was still pretty unmistakable.

Thankful for her superior strength, she balanced her parcels on one hip as she reached to knock at the door carefully, not wanting to splinter it into itty bitty pieces or anything. Knowing Koudo, he likely had the structure reinforced, but it was never nice to be careless with someone else's property.

Drawing back, she cleared her throat in preparation for the little 'happy thanksgiving!' jingle she'd prepared for whomever was summoned by her knocking.

The quartet in the building all remained relatively still, locked into their various activities as if they were oblivious to the knocking on the front door. Yui didn't hear it, but Okami turned her head to the door of their shared room with ever intent to move. Yui, however, forbade it since she was in the middle of a story. Koudo and Odea both knew who it was, whether by energy signature, wavelength, or because they could see her approaching from the window. Regardless, they knew Mana was waiting outside the door with parcels of some kind, but neither of them really wanted to get up from what they were doing. Being relatively stubborn individuals, they would remain in a muted deadlock for seconds that felt like eternity between the everlasting partners. Eventually, however...

"I hate when you do that."

Koudo grumbled, bowing out of the competition before it got too intense. Mana would have been forced to wait for weeks on end if Koudo really thought challenge the stubbornness of a centuries old treasure. He stood from his chair and crossed the room to creak open the front door. While Autumn had probably come to Vescrutia --he was unsure of the seasons were even allowed to change with the Horsemen STILL polluting the air and darkening the skies with their miasma-- and cool breezes along with it, Luxerion remained rather temperate, as if locked eternally in spring. His hair, still long and dark as obsidian, was tied up in a ponytail whose end reached just below the collar of his beater and his lower half was covered by a pair of dark blue jeans.

"Yo, welcome."

In all honesty, if Mana had to wait a moment or two longer, she would have most likely just let herself in and faced the awkward consequences later. It was all that she could do in her excitement to shift her weight from toe to toe in a bouncing display or eager enthusiasm. Her senses weren't as in-tune with sounds and whatnot as Koudo and family, and her sense of the air was much more finite than her mother's, so at one point, she'd even seen prudent to knock again, most likely just before Koudo rose from his seat.

When Koudo opened the door, Mana did falter for a moment, taken aback first by his simple dress, and then on closer examination, Koudo himself. A blush lit her cheeks before she averted her gaze, her thoughts indistinguishable so long as she wasn't forced to meet his gaze again.

Mana herself wore a soft, off-white blouse beneath a rather autumn-themed red sweater with a faint pattern, and a nice pair of beige trousers that hugged her curves. Around her neck, a small pendant of what appeared to be diamond lay nestled in the hollow of her throat, and her star-studded locks twisted up in a messy sort of bun in a charming way.

In short; she felt way over-dressed.

"Uhm! Thanks... May I come in?"

She shifted to proudly display her assorted goodies, still completely oblivious that somehow her visit was perhaps ill-timed.

"I brought desserts and a couple other things!"

Koudo wasn't going to keep Mana out in the mild temperature of Luxerion just because he wasn't sure about the reason for her visit. As it stood, there wasn't any need for her to have a reason to show up for a visit anyway. This was the planet that she created, after all, they were just living here.

"Right sure, but I have no idea why you have those."

He stepped to the side, out of the way entirely, and left the vicinity of the door to return to his desk where his readings remained. Koudo didn't really like sweets, he couldn't say whether Odea did or not, and Yui as such a picky eater that he had no idea what she would and wouldn't eat.

Mana blinked slowly. Once. Twice. Her lips parted, and confusion was written all over her face.

"Don't you know what day it is?"

She asked, tilting her head to the side. All of her excitement had left her in a rush of disappointment as she suddenly clued in. She felt stupid, suddenly, and as if she was being a bother by imposing herself upon the Tamuras. Koudo had already retreated to his office, but she hesitated in the doorway, clutching her bundles close.

Okay. Okay. Just breathe!

Gathering up all that confidence she was supposed to have, Mana stepped in and closed the door behind her, quickly resuming her mask of excitement to conceal her momentary blunder.

"Haven't you ever heard of thanksgiving?"

She glided to the entrance to his office, her large number of parcels still balanced on her one hip. Koudo knew they weren't heavy for her or anything, but the least he could have done was offer to take them to the kitchen for her as they made conversation. Or something. But nah, the bum decided to resume his reading like she wasn't even there. She hoped it was because he was just that comfortable with her presence, not because he'd begun to draw further away from her.

"Mmm."

Koudo thought on it while he pulled out his chair to take a seat. If he remembered correctly, then today was... just another normal day! They weren't dating anymore, so it couldn't possibly be an anniversary thing and as far as he knew no one's birthday was coming up. No one that he cared about anyway.

"Can't say that I have, no."

He replied, sitting down in his chair, propping his feet up on his desk and scrapping up the papers he'd been looking over to continue his reading. The phrase 'thanksgiving' didn't sound like anything that had ever been mentioned to him before. He knew that he'd had gaps in his memories, but he liked to think he'd remember whatever this was. Honestly speaking, it didn't sound like anything he wanted to be a part of either.

"Well, today you're gunna learn."

Stubbornly, Mana turned right around and left for the kitchen. It wouldn't be easy, but she knew she could do it. After placing her parcels down in some sort of order, she pinched a bit of magic out for thin air in the shape of a tiny sprite that she'd known all throughout her childhood... Except hers was a lot more sparkly, made out of stardust and all. The tiny creature shook herself out briefly, before she looked expectantly toward Mana. Of course, she wasn't really living, but she could convey messages just fine.

"Alrighty, I want you to go find Yui and ask her if she likes cooking stuff! I'm going to need a little helper around the kitchen as soon as I get back. And try to get Odea to help too, since there's going to be some grown-up stuff to do with knives and all sorts of things and, OH!"

Mana's quick-pace speech came to a halt as she changed gears, biting her lip cutely, trying to hold the sudden dish idea she'd just come up with. The sprite could barely contain her eagerness, bouncing up and down in the air excitedly.

"Oh, uhm, try to get Koudo to standby for potato and other veggie peeling, that butt. Not even helping me in, sheesh!

"Okay, gogogo!"

With a smile and a poof of stardust, Mana ported herself back to Vescrutia in a shimmer of magic, while the little pink sprite zoomed off to Yui's room in a flurry of sparkly dust. She barely managed to squeeze herself under the door before she laid eyes on Okami, the small girl's loyal companion. The little sprite froze, unsure of whether she'd soon have to run for her life, or if the wolf would recognize Mana's magic at work and allow the intrusion. Her itty bitty face was the picture of cartoonish surprise, all wide-eyed and uncertain.

Yui had been noticing, as of late, that Okami hadn’t been quite as active as she used to be. While the two still shared a multitude of adventures just roaming the landscape of Luxerion, there were times when Okami would disappear for a while before reappearing suddenly, almost like out of thin air. It wasn’t a major concern, Yui expected that her dad needed Okami just as much as Yui seemed to think she did, but she did miss the wolf and was filling in the time with her by sharing stories.

Okami, with whatever was going on with her, was, largely, an independent animal. She could do whatever she pleased because while Koudo allowed her the ability to do so. She knew what Yui was doing, and why, and ultimately she didn’t mind. The companionship and relationship they had fostered between each other was a growing experience for the both of them. Her eyes stayed locked on the young girl sharing exciting stories of the creatures she had seen and the flowers she had picked, but her ears and nose twitched at the sudden… intrusion of a unexpected third party. She made no motions, the thick scent of Mana’s overwhelming magic assaulted her nose plenty enough to know this thing wasn’t a threat to Yui.

“Oh, hello!”

Yui exclaimed happily when she turned to see the floating pixie close to the crack beneath the door. She hadn’t been expecting a guest at all. She’d heard someone at the door and the muffled sounds of her father speaking with someone in his office right below her room, but she didn’t think someone would be allowed to come up the stairs. She’d never seen a pixie, or fairy, or whatever this creature was before. It was kind of exciting!

In a flurry of excitement, the small sparklebutt picked herself up and fluttered into the air. Her path soon had her whizzing around Yui's head, encouraging her attention toward the small nightstand where the little sprite would soon land. Clearing her throat with an adorable little 'ahem!', she posed with her wings behind her and her arms outstretched to her front. Between her hands, a glittery scroll of stardust would soon appear, and she spoke with a voice very similar to Mana's, though perhaps a tad more squeaky and high-pitched.

"Yui~! Mana needs help! Today is thanksgiving, and that means it's time for a feast! ☆"

Above her head, glittery scenes of turkeys and other assorted thanksgiving staples paraded past, and scenes of busy cooks in kitchens whizzed by to introduce the little sprite's next point.

"We gotta gather up Odea to help us, and Koudo-kun too! ☆"

Leaning in real close, the sprite grinned with a giggle,

"Koudo-kun can take care of the veggie station, no worries, but,"

Straightening, the moving pictures above her head and the scroll between her fingers disappeared.

"It's gunna be a lot of fun! Can you help me get everyone else to help, too? Mana will be back soon!! ☆"

Yui’s eyes showed positive elation as she watched the sprite dance around her head, it received less than a noticeable acknowledgement from the old wolf in the room. There was a much larger since of wonderment at the message that the fairy had to portray to the little one, and the images at danced before her eyes only feeling to foster a larger sense of curiosity. While without the foggiest idea about what Thanksgivings was, nor what the meaning behind the day was, it really didn’t matter. Being able to learn more about it was enough to get her onboard. Everything else has highly secondary in nature, both her and Okami knew that neither would bother with the food.

“Umm… Odea isn’t going to help.”

Yui whispered in her quiet voice. The woman had made it quite clear that she was very far for a being that belonged in the kitchen. Moreover, from brief touches Yui had received from the woman, and the emotions she was able to seer, Yui had gathered that she had… less than pleasant feelings about Mana. Yui figured it be best to relay the information she knew, now, rather than risk an altercation later. Her daddy would be a… partially easier sale, but not by much.

“But I can help with daddy!”
