Primary Objective - Investigate the radiation emitting from the Verano Mesa

Lore Primer - The Verano Mesa juts out of the cracked landscape of the surrounding desert like a tree felled before its time. Its high altitude, flat top is a frosted landscape, covered in a thick layer of permafrost. So far away from any cities, the nights are often perfectly clear above the mesa, a permanent hole punched in the clouds stretching into the stratosphere, through which meteor showers grace any observer lucky enough to scale the sheer cliffs. Lately, water streams down the cliff faces of the mesa and rest in pools on the surface of the stone desert floor, what once was an arid, cracked landscape flourished into a mangled mess of vegetation never seen before in the region. The vegetation has brought a rush of adventurers, sightseers, and inquisitors to the region, most noting a distinct amber glow coming from the top of the mesa at night and a mesmerizing attraction to it the longer they peered at it. The experience leaves them perturbed, feeling like a moth to a flame.
