“..we all have our strengths, huh?”

-She said folding her arms and quirking her brow in mild interest. The fact that Cross’ learning curve and muscular acuity barely needed a glimpse of a technique for her to innovate it was wildly impressive. But from what she knew about the blue haired bombshell, her procedural memory was only a shave of her talents. Deadeye Marksmen, Genius Engineer and Chancelor of Tech, it was no wonder she could throw hands with the best of em should she be cornered.

Genetics gifted Savaj with unique organelles that made her mental aptitude alien to human nature. But Cross’ brain functioned as if it had no biological restraints at all. Her neurons and dendrites shot of electrical signals akin to a super computer, or some encyclopedic data satellite. Savvy never encountered any one whose could process, analyze, and decipher information half as quickly as she could.

And now she was thinking about turning it off..

“..you can do that?”

-She said through slits of giggles. That just sounded insane.. especially for a light spar before their assignment. But Savvy would be lying if she said she wasn’t intrigued. So she waited, patiently, for her friend to reboot her biocircuits. Her imagination ran rampant sense she couldn’t ask her any questions about the questionable technique, and refused to sweep through her mind for answers. She shrugged and settled to find out with infield experience.-

Yes she could. After the heralds attacked the abyss, Cross latent technopatic abilities were awoken. Using her uncanny ability to memorize things she saw, and foresee impossible connections in algorithms she had a gift for engineering. Cross Arbiter, Pandora was awoken too! She and Cross began doing loads of experiments with herself and technopathy using her body as biocomponents inspired by the architects of old . The first thing she did was attempt to remove her need to eat. That didn’t work too well he’s eating replenished Naten and fuel. So she removed her need to sleep. That didn’t work entirely either, as her organic brain needed rest. So like any technician she created a workaround. Her Cordis Nova, the embodiment of her Will of Analysis- Pandora, was basically her second brain. And between the two of them, they gave cross multiple hard drives to constantly take in, and process data. Or in this case? Protect her body when she went under. Cross rarely went into the field but when she did she loaded up preprogrammed algorithms for combat. She mostly only used these to keep working while she slept, or pass these along to her assistants. But there were a few combat created ones that she was dying to try out.

This one was simply called “Stealth Takedown 004”. And suddenly? Cross’ limp, lifeless body vanished. Her stealth mode was activated. A frightening emptiness lingered among the desolate canyon with nothing but gravel, and

Her body could manipulate photons around her making her invisible, whilst masking her sound, and scent. And since she was pretty much a vegetable? Her brain waves too. Savaj knew Mak’Gora. Which sucks. It was too versatile, close, mid and long ranged. Even the smallest foe could throw a truck if the knew the right moves. Shame, Cross liked how bones sounded when they snapped, but if Savaj couldn’t see the blows coming could she counter them?

Suddenly a rain of stones, sounding like machine gun fire peppered Savaj from all sides lighting the place up with environmental artillery that could lodge holes in tanks. Cross was warming up.

-Savvy moved her hand over her mouth analyzing Cross’ body morbidly pick itself up and vanish into a void of murderous intent. As foretold, she sensed Cross’ neural activity immediately decay to an all time low and then all corporal traces of her fell off the map soon after.-

..whoa..

-She thought, scratching the intrigue from her chin. It was eerie; even for a technological super warrior, how could she battle or strategize without exerting neural activity? Could she really back up her own consciousness unto something as delicate as a flash drive? It was as if she became a ghost.-

“Cute.. Creepy as fuck too.”

-But Savvy never flinched. In fact, Cross’ deadly compound of genius and inexplicable talent almost stretched Savvy’s condecending smirk into a full blown smile.. almost. It was becoming painfully obvious why Cross was so tightly knit into The Nightmare’s Military, despite her being a self exiled cyber savant. The Blue Blur was not to be underestimated in the slightest, but neither was a Psion. They didn’t need to see with their eyes, nose, or any conventional method to lay waste to their opposition. Be it day or night, be them deaf or blind, their psionic spatial awareness severly outclassed mortal perception by celestial bounds. Their minds could taste music, listen to different frequencies on the Electromagnetic Spectrum man has never conceived, or even feel emotions across vaste distances. Savaj’s in particular could perceive events or even cast her influence at a subatomic level or even on the astral plane if need be. Naturally, knowledge of these bounds and lack thereof had to be meticulously alien to any previous Psychic Cross may have encountered or studied. Savvy couldn’t help but scoff as she begrudgingly saw the method behind Kham’s madness.. This is why he pitted them against each other.-

Tch..

Savaj tilted her nose at the sudden terrestrial storm but stood strong among its rigid ballistics. It wasn’t even reflex for her to build a dense telekinetic dermis that pulveriszed the barrage of stones on contact, swallowing her in a dense cloud of dust particles. She even managed to morph several of the shattered pebbles into elongated stilagmites that orbited the auburn haze of sediment like sentinels, eager to pin or pierce its target to canyon’s crust. If Cross could see her, she’d see Savvy’s eyes lost in contemplation amidst the chaos. She looked less like a combatant and more like an avid researcher engrossed in her field.-

Cross appeared in front of the jagged barrier of stone and rock thereafter, her eyes were closed shut, and her face expressionless, but her body was still tight and rigid in a fighters stance. Like sleepwalking, she was on auto-pilot and had to see the program to its completion. Her observant brain registered that the foe barricaded themselves in a dense layer of defenses. So Cross cocked her left fist back, which gathered swirling vibrating energy around it's fingers, the simulation around them began to static and crack at it's seams. Dimensional energy was being manipulated. Upon stepping into the punch, Cross' left fist disappeared and hopefully collided with Savaj's jaw by the sound of a mighty thunderclap, as she used her dimensional-deviant abilities to warp her first into Savaj's bunker. It appeared back to her side instantly thereafter. Perhaps, with her peppering of pebbles, Savaj just wanted her still enough for a technique that required preparation such as this.

-Cross’ interdimensional fist landed exactly where it intended and the resounding impact split the ground beneath Savvy’s twisting face. The pulverizing shockwave washed across the canyon and extinguished the haunting smoke screen like it was a nuisance. A dribble of blood sailed from her nose unto Cross’ steaming knuckles.. but Savaj’s feet didn’t budge.

“Ughn..”

-And neither did Cross.-

Gotcha’..

-Despite being unable to anticipate her portal attack, Savvy was more than capable of tanking and responding to it. Something she learned from from surviving the Destroyer, patience, endurence.

The telekinetic dermis coating Savvy’s skin softened Cross’ strike into a shadow of its former self, although it did manage to leave a rather brutal impression in Savvy’s cheek. However, just as her cybernetic limb made contact (Arm, Wrist, Finger )all ten of Savaj’s fingers clenched around it and dug into her flesh as if she triggered a bear trap. Keeping her from snatching away in the nick of time. In the same seamless, probably familiar maneuver, Savvy exerted a herculean vice grip in efforts to snap the mechanical appendage at its skeletal base in several spots by focusing her telekintic muscle into a paralyzing physical hold. Her new found knowledge of Mak’Gora gifted her a fresh arsenal of grappling techniques..

“C’mere!”

-If successful, Sav would adjust her stance and weight distrbution to either pull Cross through the tiny spatial aperature and into a crippling arm lock or she’d tear her arm right off.-

Contact. A satisfying feeling wasted on a sleeping person. Shame. Now another.

But then? Compromised!? Her arm wouldn't return. Stuck in between dimensional space no she was down to her shoulder. She pressed her free hand on empty space trying to pry her arm away, but the grip of Mak'Gora was unforgiving, bolstered with psychokenetic force Savaj wasn't giving up. Fine she could have it, and Cross let her. Not before it detonated in explosive fervor. It would take a while for it to grow back, muscle tissue was one thing. Whole limbs took a while. Right now Cross' brains were sending mixed signals, there was damage to the chasis, that could possibly override the algorithm and snap Cross out of it. Or the algorithm could override itself and began another: Lethal Takedown - 89. For a moment she considered, the next moment her thermal knife appeared in her hand. The following moment, she vanished again.

-Savvy’s cocky smile sure made her look an asshole once Cross’ severed arm went nuclear in her face. No way in hell would she have guessed Cross would sooner lose her arm than get wrestled into submission. If not for her withering barrier, Savvy would have taken the full brunt of the explosion on the chin. Instead the fiery eclipse sent her twirling across the canyon’s horizon like a misfit toy until she could catch her balance between ground bounces.

She slid to a stop using her hands and knees, ripping up plates of bedrock to drag her momentum to a halt. Plumes of smoke stoked from her body while her seared, tattered fabrics peeled away in the arid virtual breeze.-

“..didn’t know you could do that either..”

-She voiced her frustrations more so to herself sense Cross couldn’t hear or respond in her current condition. Savvy used the lapse in battle to catch her breath and shake the rubble from her shoulder length locs. All of her earrings, hair ties, and accessories had been torched to ash in the inferno. Even her vomit stained pants and jacket were mildly ravaged in the heat. Her tank top was resilient though, having been sewn with enchanted ivory silk made it more resistant physical and mystical abrasions. Still, she was tired

“A’ight, I’m definitely fucking sober now. The next move taking ya’ head off, think it’ll screw back on?”

-She boasted with bottled fury while her sage tinted occulars slowly surveyed the field like a starving predator. Cross vanished again. But knowing that she could warp space and time added several layers of possibilities Savvy didn’t feel like measuring. She encountered her kind before, hell she was getting ready to hunt down a syndicate of the bastards for the second time. So she had her contingencies up her sleevd but for now she was still. Still as the mountain as her ash baked fingers twitched with black blurbs of voltage cracking at her nails that lifted rubble and sediment from the soil around her. She knew Cross had to make a move, and fast on account of her injuries. Savvy was banking on her making a mistake under those stringent conditions. She’d capitalize and crucify should the opportunity arise.

With a deep breath Savvy focused her telekinetic muscle inwards and amplifyed her natural physical attributes to inhuman dimensions. She was ready.-

Pandora shut her off... please

Came a voice from the canyon, Kham hadn't been watching. He'd been away handling business. But he had been warned this fight went far beyond three touches. Pandora, Cross' AI, her Cordis Nova didn't take orders from Kham, but she was far more rational minded than her host seemed. And could be manually shut down in situations like these.

You two deploy in one hour.

Kham's voice vanished. The Ferrymen had been located. Miguel's laboratory would make an appearance as soon as they got close. Cross and Savaj had to stalk them to the lab's location and infiltrate, not without giving one of them time to repair their arm and take a power nap for once.

Cross' knife stopped just shy of Savaj's throat. Her arm, reduced to stubble was alive like little ants were crawling all over it. Her eyes were working their way open, as her eye balls swam beneath her eyelids like children beneath blankets. She fell limp again, her thermal knife vanished and she abruptly righted herself thereafter only for her to awake and find herself in front of Savaj, in kissing range. With her arm torn off.

"HOLY SHIT! That escalated quickly. Aw man look at your clothes!"

She turned around and looked at the surroundings, most of which she recalled the destruction of. The hexagonal plates that constructed the illusion began to rotate on an axis turning the room into the blank white slate that it always had been. Cross paused for a second, she was getting intel from Pandora, reviewing the footage in her harddrives. She placed her finger to her skull and popped out the flash drive.

"Oh... aw man. Oh shit. That was brutal. Mother fucker interrupting my experiments. You okay?"

She asked Savaj, concerned about how quickly things must have escalated. The algorithms were adaptive, didn't think they would escalate that quickly though. She wondered how far things would go.

-Kham’s omniscient baritone threw Savaj completely off and nearly got her neck slit into a smile. She took a shallow breath, feeling the warm wind from Cross’ thermal blade kiss her throat and didn’t exhale until her friend woke back up.-

“Tch, girl move..”

-She scoffed, stoically glaring at Cross through her draping bronzed coils before making her way toward the exit. Savvy definitely lost this bout and her competitive spirit had spoiled her attitude into a suppressed scowl. Shit, and she had a headache.-

“Wake me up in ten minutes, I feel like my head finna’ explode.”

-She said bending the corner before Cross could respond. She tried to soothe it calm with some massaging methods but figured she might just need a nap.
