<The soft crunch of the sand beneath his feet echoed through out the empty Stadium as a man, covered and hidden by a tattered cowl made his way to the center of its pit. It was a rare day for many reason, the first being that the Stadium was free of any Examinations or Scrimmages. The stands were empty of spectators, and the halls were only filled with the breeze of a passing wind.

For a moment Maze reflected on it's simplistic appeal! There was nothing here, nothing but him, no troubles, no worries. It was in moments like this that it was hard for him to remember the struggles and hardships that happened the very foundation of such a calm place.

He smiled as he looked toward the sky above him...>

"Now..."

<There was no grand display of power but the air around him suddenly became so heavy and still, the ground shook and the sand beneath him began to ripple from out under him as if a drop of rain fell upon a lake. Though it could not be seen or heard and echo of energy fluctuated from his body and reached across time and space to those only Maze wished for it to reach. It would do to them no harm, it would be as if they felt the warm embrace of a love one and suddenly they would know....who was calling them and why.

Maze waited, tossing aside damaged and old cowl reveling the fashionable business attire he wore underneath, the first time in a long time Maze had dolled himself up thou he kept the scruff on his face...He had waited a long time to finally have facial hair! and there was no way he was going to give that up so soon.

As he fiddled with his clothing, straighting his sleeves, fixing his collar...Maze waited for his summoned guests to Arrive.>

She would have been lying if she said she wasn't surprised to feel what felt like a big astral hug wrap around her in a show of fatherly affection. After deciding to strike out on her own for the most part, Mana had been focusing on herself, and prepping for another visit to the Astral library. She didn't want to impose upon anyone for too long, but she would have to leave her body with someone who knew how to care for it, and who wouldn't let it decay in her absence (it was pretty difficult to destroy a Goddess' body, but it was possible), so she was deep in meditation to plan everything out.

Blinking open her eyes, she took a moment to stretch out, wincing from the sudden brightness of the daylight streaming into the room. Had she really be idle for so long? Rising from her folded lotus position, she advanced to the window to peer out at the bustling streets of the small town in which she'd taken up residence. Honestly, she'd tracked her late Aunt's ex-mate and daughter to this place, and half hoped that she could catch a glimpse of the growing babe and be reassured of the little girl's safety even in these troubling times. She knew the pair were somewhere nearby, she just wasn't sure where.

At any rate, it was a hunt that she could resume at any time, as the rent for the small room was already paid for several months yet, thanks to selling off some rare materials that Mana could manifest at will with some concentration, and a subconscious form of mind reading through the unguarded's auras. Merchants and various craftsmen were consistently awed with what the Witch could procure, but she was sure to never sell too close to where she'd tracked the young broken family, wary of drawing attention to herself. She'd even gone so far to actively conceal her magic and the fantastic effects on her physique. She still was a little startled every time she passed a mirror and saw her softly tanned skin all un-glow-y, and her hair a flat, plain black.

Summoning a small portion of her magic back to her, just enough to make a tiny rift to enable her passive warp abilities, Mana had a smile on her face as she stepped through space and time to join her father in the stadium. It seemed familiar, but she couldn't place it. Even though she was used to looking at the construct of a spell, of the imprint of magic in an area rather than its appearance (living in a huge mansion of a home with rooms you could change at will tended to leave you with that habit), there was just so much that had changed.

Supposedly, she should have visited her father's school more than she had, but the stubbornness in her refused to believe that she could be taught much by the establishment. Mana's respect tended to be hard-earned, like her relationship with Jack Rakan. She only learned to call him teacher after he'd beaten the snot out of her on several occasions and proved just how foolish a small girl desperate to prove herself worth something really could be. Still, it was refreshing to be back in an area of Vescrutia that didn't revolt against the nature of her soul, or tried to devour it in some crazy grab for her divine strength. Yikes.

She took a deep breath as her body - unfettered by her previous disguise of mortality - reassembled in a subdued array of magic, her smile still firmly in place. It only brightened when she saw her father, looking hella sharp in his 'I mean business' clothes. It took but a moment for a happy cry to leave her lips as she flitted toward him, her arms outstretched for the hug that she wanted so desperately to wrap him in and be wrapped in in return. Nothing smelled more like home than Daddy's arms, so unique and comforting.

The filing of security forms has all Aura had in her day to day, which things as tame as they've been she rarely had anything to do then to fix the documents she had purposely misplaced the day before as to give herself something to do the next day. She figured that such a waste of time would reflect badly toward her but to be honest her other Teammates hadn't truly been around in a while...so who was she trying to impress?

With her morning routine out of the way Aura return to her desk where she propped her feet up and closed her eyes. Slowly she drifted off only to be pulled back by a sudden warm wind that came through Campus P.D office. It's sudden intense wave of warmth sat her up as his seemed to wrap around her, in a tight but loving embrace.

It wasn't long before Aura put it all together, dear ol'dad with another of his summonings. Wrapping up her work around the office she locked the place down as she headed to the origin of that warm wind...The Crown Stadium.

In her mind she played a game by guessing what Dad could want this time. She doubted it was another catastrophe, there would be way more fanfare than a warm breeze if it was..So just what could it be?

She walked through the threshold of the Pits, was that Mana? Aura barely recognized her, was this another phase; either way it would seem like she had beat her here. As always thou, Mana took no time toward hoping toward their Father as if no time had passed at all since they were children. It made Aura smile and before she knew it her feet were moving to catch up with them and she dove for her Father and Sister....she had missed them both

<The combined force of his daughter tackling him almost made our fair Maze topple! Dooming his clean suite to forever be polluted with the grains of sand that surely would of gotten everywhere....but it would of been worth it.

He laughed as he gave them both a tight squeeze! it had been far too long since he and his Daughters had been together and Maze couldn't hide how overjoyed he was. He looked at them both, they had grown since their last encounter.

Mana, his joy, she had changed so much. Her once pale blue hair had gone black and her innocent demeanor had become Mature but even it was more than any outwardly profiling could determine yet her change was not something she could hide from her Father...still she was becoming the spitting image of her Mother..her nose...her smile.

Aura, his Pride, ever the calm and collected stalwart Maze was taken aback by her openness but he was all the more happy because of it. Within her eyes he saw the same fire burning in her that he saw in his Mother or his Sister.>

"My girls..."

<Maze took a step back and adjusted his suite again. He looked toward his children with determinations and conviction in his eyes. He had made up his mind about this and he wanted to get things moving as he feared that being in their presence for to long would rob him of his motivation.>

"Can either of you guess why I've called you here today?"

While she recognized that maybe she was too old to be kissing Daddy's cheeks anymore (what a strange revelation to be having...), she wasn't above squeezing him tightly in a loving hug. The fact that Aura had appeared too only made her so much happier, the glow that laid thick over her skin bursting into an array of prismatic light even as her dark locks swam through the reflection of hundreds of little galaxies and other celestial bodies. Sure, the light pouring out of her passively was certainly bright, but she couldn't help it! She hadn't felt this happy in a long while. Effortlessly, she incorporated her twin in her hug, grinning like crazy.

Of course, it was over far too soon, Mana's father drawing away to leave the Witch to awkwardly collect herself and rein in her excitement to a more pleasant spectrum of light. She paused, furrowing her eyebrows, but it took her but a moment to come up with an answer.

"Uhm? Does it have something to do with that Heart of Chaos thing that you told me about all that time ago? I never got to repay you for helping me become a Witch and stuff!"

Of course, she couldn't forget that even with the power spike, she hadn't the wisdom necessary to anticipate the betrayal of her weapon. She hadn't counted on how the Insanity that plagued the land, and the very curse of her blood would manifest in the sword that was an extension of her very being. Otherwise, the effects of Vescrutia's madness were so slight that she hadn't even noticed them... But maybe that's why she felt so relieved and liberated every time she made a trip to her own creations.

Passively, she attempted to spot the silver bracelet she'd gifted her father at the conclusion of said aforementioned Witch-becoming, but she knew it would be there just where she'd left it. She could tell that her father really appreciated the gift, a lot more than he'd ever actually admit.

A small bead of sweat feel from Aura's brow as her twin began to light up like a Christmas tree, Aura feeling a tad embarrassed for her sister. Mana had always been the rock in the family and Aura knew that when it came to mushy Family stuff she was always the most excited and it seemed that even through all she had been through that hadn't changed about her, and that made Aura smile.

As embarrassing as it was it sure to was an impressive display, for those few moments her sister looked that the night sky, her long black her hosted stars and other phenomenons, out of the two of them Mana had always been more in tune with their Mother's roots, the blood of a Goddess but it was never more apparent to her than it was now that Mana had taken it to a whole other level......Just what had she been up to all this time?

As her Sister began to calm herself down so too would Aura, as their Father, of course made them drag the answer out of him. She had no idea of the suggestion Mana would make, a "Heart of Chaos" was something Aura had no knowledge of thou she did find the name to be a bit hardcore to of belonged to their Father, but it would also seem that Dad and Mana had been spending some time together and that was a good thing to hear..While her relationship with her Father had always been rocky, Mana had always loved their Father and so in hearing that it gave Aura a bit of happiness that she would of denied years ago.

"Could it be that you've decided to give us more gifts? Seems to be you and Grandma's favorite past time these days..."

Her tone matched her body language, sarcastic and lax as Aura placed her hands behind her tilted head. She smiled as she teased her Father thou...the joke wasn't too far from the truth and simply waited for Daddy Dearest to stop being so cryptic!

<Maze grinned as he saw his daughter's excitement, her powers had clearly become more controlled since their last meeting and it was good to see.>

"No Mana, it isn't about that. And Aura...you aren't too far off."

<The energy in the arena began to swirl, as small portions of dust began to rise from the wind of a summoned breeze. A feeling, heavy and strong feeling upon them and felt hostile yet kind, threatening yet comforting! Maze did his best to match the style of his Old Master, long ago when he was but a boy.

The girls would no doubt remember this type of force, the feeling they felt when they too tried with their Old Master...Jack.>

"Today I've asked you both here to test your abilities and your growth."

<The arena calmed, and returned to a sense of normalcy. Maze grinned at them unable to hide his own excitement from them. He had never challenged them, such honors were giving to their Aunt Zita, or Uncle Khrona! but never himself and he felt left out...but more so it was because times now were changing...Vescrutia was changing.

And Father wants to make sure his children are prepared for that change, ready for those obstacles. He needed to test them before he purposed something...before his girls took the next step.>

"I want you both to come at me with everything you've got, because I'll becoming at you with all I have...and I won't be holding back."

<Maze's words were stern, almost cold as was his expression. He needed to make sure they understood him, there could be no misunderstandings. Just like those days with Jack on the beach Nothing would be held back in this scrimmage and he hoped they knew what that meant!.>

"So what do you two say? Wanna wrestle with your old man?"

Something akin to the far-off echoes of Mana's internal laughter played in the back of Aura's mind at her statement; it was really true. Scary Grandma number 1 (AKA Evangeline) had unlocked their mother's bloodright in Mana, just before she'd been able to go see their father and become a Witch after kicking celestial baddie butt. The thought quickly faded, as Mana's eyes went wide.

Sparring with the old man? She'd never got to do that even sans magic, for fear of cracking dearest daddy in half. The last time she could remember play-fighting with her father was in the first couple weeks after her birth, when there was nothing special to her and her sister; they were just awkward, gangly newborns in teen bodies, falling over themselves just as often as tackling Maze himself. The golden haze of happier days, of innocent ignorance to the mean old world, hung over the memory, bringing back a bit of that momentary glow.

Smirking, Mana took a number of slow, measured steps backward before she began unbinding her magic to allow herself full access to it without having to concentrate so much on keeping it in check. The sheer volume of it, the ability to create planets and satellites without tiring, sat just there at her glowing fingertips, casting projections of far off-galaxies this way at that. It was a passive effect with no drain on her massive amounts of magic, but it was still perfectly dazzling.

She coated herself in magical armor to start, dulling her glow and negating those projections with layer upon layer of compressed magic. Mana thought to offer the same to her sister, but she prepared a mobile shield of the same composition on her arm instead, one that could be made projectile at a moment's notice to block anything Aura couldn't handle, but Mana knew her sister had some technological marvels up her sleeve that the added protection of her magic would only hinder rather than help.

"No holding back..."

At that exact moment, thousands of star bombs lit the arena, and Aura and Mana would feel a faintly unpleasant feeling as Mana adjusted their centers of gravity to be unaffected by the pull of the explosive star clusters, and even act as harmless repellents, like marbles bouncing off each other at contact. At a glacial pace, they pulled themselves toward Maze, though with their number, he would have to be extraordinarily careful not to bump one; it would create a chain reaction with how far the novas would spread, afterall.

Beneath Mana herself, clouds of stardust gathered, her remaining magic (being replenished at an astonishing rate even from that brief expenditure) crackling with an eager excitement. Passively, she set up about a dozen magical tethers to bits of spacerock that lept into the air at her command, crowding the already packed stadium. What they would be used for, offense or defense, wasn't clear.

This occurred in seconds, just long enough for the uber competitive Mana to loose an excited whoop.

"You got it, Dad!"

Her lax demeanor faded as she stared at her Father. For along time Aura wanted nothing more than chance, she used to have dreams of kicking her Father's tail and waited for the day she could make him pay for the trails he put their family through.

But now...it was childish revenge that steeled her for this, it was her pure curiosity that ignited within her. Story of the battles her Father had fought were stuff of Legend in both this world and the Magic World. So many people admired him, and feared him...but Aura only had to hear of such things through hear say...for the first time she'd get to see if it was all more than talk, if the tales, Takai, Khrona, Zita, and the Mother all told were true...

The two Sisters, with minds practically linked took similar measures and as Mana called for her celestial magics for aid, Aura called for her Regalia, it's divine protection coating her in a armor that covered most of her body.

"You sure you can handle that Old Man?"

She could feel Mana's magics influencing her, as Mana of course did the absolute most right at the start. Feeling her Sister's worry for her well being (as misplaced as it was) Aura calmly stood and watched as the energy of stars began to collapse around her Father and waited for her chance.

She called for a brilliant blade that simmered with the magical glow of the several runes and marks that decorated it's hilt and blade. Aura positioned herself and per-pairing all of the Queen's Regalia's speed to move the moment her Father acted and would seek to cut him down in his moment of reaction...

<How most unexpected, he thought as thousand's of these "star bombs" came down upon him in what felt like slow motion. His girls, there first move was so grand in scale; overwhelming numbers mixed with a contingency on two fronts. Their efficiency shocked him and their battle experience was showing proudly. Maze found himself proud at their tactical insight but then confused and quizzical as he wondered if they ever practice a "Take Down Dad" attack.

A smile showed from his own foolishness as the bombs did indeed find their mark, starting a chain reaction that could only be described as mass destruction. The roaring sound of such a large explosion echoed around the lands, and shock the very university to it's core.>

"Not bad..."

<A voice, almost like that of a whisper came from the smoke and fire of the explosion. Within it, just barely visible was a twinkling of light that glared out from the fiery aftermath and soon over took that of the area.

Maze stood, unmoved, protected in a prism of energy that shined with an incandescent glow that could remind them of a warmth and protection granted by the embrace of a Mother, or Father....Protectma!

The barrier began to fade, turning into a glittering dusts that full down upon maze like a winter's first snow. His eyes fixed children...or should he say child.

Before Maze was even given the time to boast, Aura sprung into action, her blade drawn and aimed at him. Her speed was extraordinary as she appeared before him as if it was he who moved toward and as if she had alway been there. Her cut was strong, he could tell as it slashed toward him with enough force that level mountains judging by her speed....however.>

"Well done girls...but it's going to take more than pretty attacks and toys to put a dent in your dear Dad.."

<The echoing sound of shaking steeled echoed as Aura would no doubt struggled to free her blade. With speeds that would surely boggle his fearless girl Maze had ensnared her blade between his glowing middle and index finger, the intensity of grew as the magic from Aura's blade began to fade and crumble.

His retaliation would be swift, sending a powerful blow to Aura's stomach, with enough speed and force that matched her initial assault sending flying right toward her Sister.

The world around them began to change, the Arena changing its self to compensate for the level of warrior to which it had become a stage, turning their surroundings into that of open field with nothing but open space that stretched for miles.

Maze began his approach, walking toward his two children, his power swirling around forming an aurora that fluctuated with every imaginable color.>

"Let's go Girls..."

Perfect. The detonation of her star bombs had given Mana the opportunity to cloak dear old dad with her magic, letting her get a taste for the exact makeup of his energies/aura/battle whatsits that she hadn't ever had to come up with any other time. Maze's center of gravity was hers for the taking, and she did so with a happy little dance. Her spell wasn't in any way harmful for Daddy, so it slipped through the cracks of the faded Protectma. Oho, don't think Mana didn't read Daddy's books after she'd learned how.

She didn't have time to react however before Aura had lept into combat, and with the speeds these titans would fight, Mana only had time to mentally colour her thoughts with annoyance before Aura went flying. With a quick Principle Shift, she re-positioned her sister's flight to send her for another go at Daddy, knowing that she would be able to recover fast enough (the projectile velocity of Aura's flight was far less than Aura's original dizzing engage), but she held on to the tail end of the spell in case her twin showed signs of being too dazed to follow through, in which case Mana could either delay Aura's reappearance the split seconds she would need for recovery, or send her flying into the distance and take the lead for herself.

No doubt dazzled by the sudden reality-warping prowess of itty bitty Mana (or at the very least struck by a note of pride,) the Goddess felt a little bad as she yanked on her old man's center of gravity, hurling it in rapid zig-zags to the outer reaches of his extremities in a split-second dance that would likely have him teeter-tottering for the split second Aura would need, if not flat on his ass. As a plus, it was kind of hard to cast spells when you weren't in control of your body and dizzy to the extreme. Oh well; as much as she loved Daddy, Mana was incredibly competitive.

Not to be the one to give him a stationary target, Mana kicked off from the ground to one of her boulders, clinging to it with a retracted tether as her keen mind passively laid out paths she could traverse the battlefield with ease. She held the possibilities in her mind as she began to travel them in a random fashion, avoiding patterns in her rapid movement, but always optimizing to keep as much visibility on the combatants as possible. Additionally, she began building up the first hints of more stars just beyond the reach of her fingertips, ready to burst forth at Mana's command.

Knowing better than to summon a full-on black hole, Mana instead positioned one of her space-rocks to the middle of the battlefield and increased its influence over surrounding gravity to a point where even Mana herself would start to get pulled in if she didn't actively fight against the pull. With Daddy physically off-balance, he would have to think pretty fast to avoid Aura's attacks with all these disadvantages. Of course, Mana's earlier magic made it possible for Mana to disallow the effect to occur within both Aura and herself, to allow for free and controlled range of movement.

Oh, Mana was ready to go in for the final blow if Maze was pulled toward that gravity center, so excited that her magic gave off an almost audible hum. Man, she would be super bad at stealth if she ever tried.

Aura looked on with a quizzical stare are her blade began to crumb at her Father's mere touch...he could feel its magic being taking away or maybe it was something else but Aura couldn't think of that now...her Father gave her no time as she was knocked away, flying off toward her sister.

Aura wasn't too sure how he had done it but she knew that a new approach would be needed in her second assault. In a spit instant she felt her trajectory change, Mana's influence once again coming over her, sending her flying back at daddy dearest for a good round 2. She blazed back toward her Father in a emerald streak as she cocked her fist back and aimed to plant a big hit on his face!

Maze continued his march toward his children, his radiant rainbow aura in a flurry as his picked up his pace, but as he just about to take off in his attack he found himself once again under Aura's assault. Her quick recovery was unexpected and her retaliation was clearly meant to be a brutal one.(I mean really, punching her own father in the face)

Maze, "unable" to dodge, as it would seem his crafty little Mana didn't seem to want dear ol' dad to avoid this one, keeping him off balance with her influence as she had her sister fly in for the blow...only Maze was prepared. Did his young Daughter, after all these years still believe that she could hide things from her Father? Mana would be able to tell that the influence she looked have over her Dad was no there and if she looked ever closer Mana would be able to see a smile on his face as he looked up to her, his aura flaring and a shining prism forming just in front of his face.

The mighty blow from Aura echoed across the barren field as her Father was sent flying into the seemingly never ending horizon. The ground around the rippled from sheer strength of the blow and Maze would quickly fade from viewing distance.

An impressive combination by the two, using their Skill and Power together to give it to their old man, but Maze had been doing this far longer than either of them had been and it was time to show them what an Old Man could do.

Aura's hand would feel as if every diligent bone had been shattered and broken, her mighty punch that she dealt to her father would feel as if she connected with a wall made from the hardest thing she could imagine...though that still wouldn't of given it enough credit.

The clear skies turned black as clouds of swirling magics began to form in the once clear sky. Roaring thunder echoed as bolts of lightning began crashing down. From above Mana came crashing down a crimson bolt of lightning, it's burning red color more than just for style, while a cyan bolt of lightning came crashing toward his dearest Aura! For where it so be that these bolt of lightning hit would erupt a great deal of magical energy, and with bolts of lightning hurling down from the sky one after another each bolt a different hue of the rainbow, each bolt representing a different element, their almost random generation would be simplified by one small fact...the bolts where homing in on Aura and Mana...and the girls would have to think fast.

Yeowchies, Aura. That's gotta hurt.

While Mana was pleased that Aura was able to follow through with the plan, hearing that horrible popping/cracking noise was the absolute worse. It almost turned Mana's wee stomach, except for the fact that she had seen worse. Much worse. Thankfully, Aura wasn't as physically strong as Mana, else she could have shattered her whole arm and done tons of damage to her shoulder, too! Or blown her arm clean off. Eww.

But seeing to it that her twin was alright would have to wait. Mana still had a hold on Maze, and she wasn't about to give it up. Her brilliant mind still had a hold on Daddy's position, and passively, she was able to track his speed and the precise position she wanted. She'd begun to warp even before the lightning strikes had blasted into existence, and attempted to yelp a warning before she left, but with just that split second, it was all she could do to hurl her shield energies overtop of Aura as an umbrella of protection while she recovered from the pain of crushed hand syndrome before she was off.

So far away from the rest of her magical tethers, it was super easy for Mana to snap in the last bit of opposite force while she flipped into a kick that could potentially break Daddy's back while he was flying at her, but something within her clicked, and she hesitated. Mana really wished she had some healing abilities...

And that was just it. She didn't. Only Daddy had spells that could fix everyone up, so she couldn't hurt him too badly, or damage his chakra centers beyond what he could repair solo. A little-heard curse slipped from her lips as she placed a cushion of magic around the small of Daddy's back, right before her kick was to connect. Hopefully, with her lightning tracking her, this would propel him into the product of the storm in her place without breaking bones. This was a form of holding back, she knew, and she would likely be punished for it, but it just wasn't in her character, and it was a fear that she wasn't likely to overcome after her ordeal. Mana's star-lit gaze flickered with her inner conflict, but other than her soft curse, she didn't say anything more.
