Venkage Clos

Name: Could be a First and Surname, or an assumed name.

Age: Any age - Venkage age fairly quickly, by the end of their first year they’re able to walk and talk. Elder members of the clan can push 1000, but age is unimportant to them after they reach maturity

Unique Marks: All Venkage possess some form of crystallization on their bodies.

Parents: At least one Venkage parent.

Species: Human

Passive Traits
  • Storm Currents - Venkage can read wind, water, and electrical currents. How each does so is up to them. They use this ability to harness the power of each of those elements.
  • Game Time - Are honor bound to abide by the rules of any agreement they enter. This does not mandate they agree to any arrangement, but if an agreement is broken or bent, they become physically ill, impairing various facets of their health.
Venkage are a strong, close knit community of storytellers, collectors, and caregivers. They are native to an archipelago nearby a near constant thunderstorm. IT normally is found the same distance away, but on certain nights like The Grand Crossing, the storm grows and engulfs the island. These nights they treat like a festival, where members of the Alsace and other prospective volunteers come together and fend off the storm. They call this the Tempest Swelling. Many young Venkage go through most of their lives craving to be a part of the festivals, performing feats with their Tempesta Zephyr they practice and hone throughout the years undertaking their Lessons handed down from their parents, guardians, and the Oro and Alsace. The Distilled take pride in learning from and teaching others like them. Most Oro are Distilled Venkage, with a select few Infused who have exemplary ability to use the Tempesta Zephyr.

Venkage give birth through Cleaves, crystalline shard caused by impressions made on them by the people they meet. Once a Cleave is made, they take the Sprite, and press it into their tongues. The gestation period yields a young Venkage with physical traits combining both parents. Distilled Venkage have dual Venkage parentage while Instilled are born with a Cleave from anyone else. Instilled Venkage and their families are exiled permanently from Cornas to protect the bloodline and its knowledge from the forces that would abuse them.

Distilled Venkage care for their own and other Distilled Venkage. Typically from similar families, they use familiar and traditional Lessons to keep their children strong and smart. They also are treated at a premier class in the Archipelago. They have a ‘pure’ expression of their Anthem and their Culture and The Oro maintain that the Primes of Bellamere must be protected from those who would abuse or enslave them. They use that as a basis to separate the Distilled and Infused Venkage and those with any relation to them. Distilled are allowed to remain on Cornas, while Infused are dispersed to other islands. One of them is Elgin, where Zero is from, but there are others on the Archipelago and there are even more Infused Venkage Clos abroad.


All over the Marlboro Archipelago, lightning strikes create a crystal called Storm Glass, a natural resource that can interact with Naten like a prism, magnifying, refracting, and storing the energy naturally. It can be crafted into weapons or charms of all sorts and is highly coveted by Cults, Mercenaries, and Merchants. The Tempesta Zephyr created by their Anthem is treated as an even more highly regarded material since its biological component makes it easier to make weapons and talismans tools for individuals with. They can create the forms naturally without the need to forge Storm Glass, and unsavories compensate very well for an able bodied Venkage. The Oro employ the force of the Alsace volunteers to guard the islands and their residents from these ever present threats.
