Chapter Two:Welcome to Ars Arena

Post by Zeik »

After introductions the entourage made their way into Ars Haven stone embroidered doors. Still rolling with energy from new found connection, the company briefly toured the complex before heading to the Arena.

Zeik gathered those who wanted a sparring match, while Kurai headed to Sanctus Imperious to assist in the Awakening with Azazel.

‘Welcome to Ars Arena

He said, cutting through the chatter that started along the way, his voice filling the huge stadium.

‘We’ll have our sport in here. As I said before, this building is under constant Astral and psionic surveillance. Preventing any unwanted attention, so relax.

Rules are First to three unblocked strikes, this includes martial arts and spells wins. No lethal play, you’ll notice your sharpened weapons deal no lethal damage in this arena, but count as a point if unblocked. Anthems are allowed!
Don’t worry about messing things up, the buildings are made of a rare stone. It boast considerable regenerative properties and never loses memory of the form it had last. Similar to the technique used by the Architect of Old, but not nearly as precise.

‘Above us you’ll see a large monitor with your sparring partner,
take to the stage when you’re ready, students.’

Ars Arena Thing

Serah leaded upon a metal along a staircase leading up to a vast network of houses and apartment buildings. She rested her weight on the sturdy rail and heaved a heavy sigh. If she wasn’t so damn tired she would marvel at the size of it all. Her first few days outside of the bog had been wonderful. Astra City had been very good to her with loads of food, sights, sounds and smells. But her bare feet were sore from walking along the paved roads and she was going to miss participating in the sparring tournament. She needed to find Ars Arena, It couldn’t be that hard to find can it? It’s just a big empty circle in the middle of a big ass city. Cant be that hard to find. Serah looked around the nook she had chosen as a rest stop. It was a back street with narrow brown stoned cobbled roads that cast the street in the shadow of taller stone buildings. The buildings seemed to live in peace with the nature who formed in, out and around what appeared to homes that had clotheslines connecting them that birds, animals and even people zipped across. The way up seemed to go on forever, and perhaps that would be the best vantage point to get an aerial view of the city. Serah knew the bog by land marks, and had figured that roads, street signs and town criers were supposed to help people get through Astral City but they just made shit more complicated. The place had so many cliffs, dips, twists and turns Serah felt like she had been walking in circles. Time to get a birds eye view and see where Ars Arena truly was. Only, it was the middle of the day and Serah was real hesitant to show ‘that stuff’, her people had been executed for it. It was why she wore a plain black cloak over her red hair, what lie underneath couldn’t be seen by normal people.

With a couple looks to her left and right she noticed an even smaller back alley behind the residential building who’s railing she was leaning against. After a few more astral-citizens passed by, Serah was gone. The way up seemed to be hundreds of times taller than she but it wouldn’t be impossible for what she had up her sleeve. She looked to her left down the alley, it was midday and people were certainly out and about, the sunlight overhead cased this back alley in perfect shadow that she blended herself into. She looked to the right and no one was around but a few vermin. Casually, carefully, quickly, she rolled up her sleeves revealing a mosscoeverd arm. It glowed with a light blue huge of Naten that caused the cultures to shift and swell. She bit her bottom lip in frustration, it felt like she was aging rapidly. She felt like her arm was burning, she felt very much alive and numb at the same time. But she thrust her arm toward the sky and an elongated vine shot forth from it, latching on to rails and footholds that she used to propel herself toward the sky. She was gone in an instant, ascending toward the peaks of the Astral City. Wind filled her cloak, her heart raced wit excitement she withhold a yell. This was the preferred means of transportation in the swamp, its a wonder who people around here walked so much in this massive city!

Her feet touched the rooftop first, wet with the past rain, the only people atop here were avians of all kinds living free Among the rooftop gardens that she heard absorbed the suns rays and fed the homes somehow? It was all too cool. The canopies of the Chaos seemed a lot more at peace than its intricacies. But in the distance Serah could see it, a giant entry way with two massive statues of warriors with their blades crossed and a dragon head in the center. That had to be the arena! And with the stuff she had up her sleeve it wouldn’t be too long before she got there. So she sprinted and leaped, sprinted and leaped again, vaulting over rooftops freely reminding her of the life she left back in the swamps until she touched down in the front of the Ars Arena. She could hear the voice booming over the outside ruckus in the city center.

“WAIT WAIT SIGN ME UP TOO!”

Serah shouted as she ran through the entrance following the voice to find it’s source, Hoping she didn’t miss out on the action yet.

-He stood close to the Area, just near the edges of the rails for the audience. He hadn’t noticed the onlooker, perhaps to focused on the ongoing fight between Flux and Teralok.

Teralok has grown quite adept at using his Animus, even with no proper training. Not to mention holding his own against mysterious Mage.-
“WAIT WAIT SIGN ME UP TOO!”

Serah shouted as she ran through the entrance following the voice to find it’s source, Hoping she didn’t miss out on the action yet.
-Her voice rang out, bringing the lofty wizard back to his body. He titled his head over his shoulders, his tightly coiled, course hair, draping over his shoulders.-

“A new face.”

-He whispered to himself. Surprised by the number of new comers his poorly written advertisement had attracted.-

“I..would B-but I haven’t anyone for you to spar with. Have we met?’’

He asked, shouting over the ferocity of naten combat happening around him. The stadium repaired itself much faster than flux’s onslaught could destroy it, but the water in our bodies wasn’t so lucky.

He was thirsty and beginning to sweat from the rapidly rising temperatures in the Arena.
