"Fuel in a very loose sense. Lumin does not power the city directly. It does cast a protective barrier over Neovias territories but nothing more. That's I'm looking into how the architects of old used naten to build and power sustainable structures. What Lumin really is, in a network of energy between those who have unlocked the Aribter. Which is a whole tangent of discussion. Anyway-"

She banked a corner into another causeway and lowered her voice, this hall way was lit by spectral naten fires that had series of doors on either side. You could see students sitting outside in the hallways whispering idle chatter about various lectures.

"Neovia is ran by a council, an alliance elected band of representatives of various expertise. The High Counselors are Atra and ZK of course, but the other seats are the Counselors of Trade, Technology, Personage, Defense, Spirit, and History. Hugh Maximillian an Owl Elv is leading the lecture we're going to right now. He usually spends most of his time peer editing and publishing novel reports, but sometimes he lectures and when he does i heard its very riveting."

An entire energy grid? They possed something so powerful here below the mountain top? How ignorant of a ruler he would have been to even think of touching the throne despite knowing nothing of the civilization and economy beneath him. How many false or empty bombast trivia from his family had he swallowed for the sake of not being branded a usurper? Sixteen years worth. He looked in complete awe as his furry acquaintance continued on about the features of the village. High counsels sounded like the big cheeses of the realm. He was soaking it all in like a sponge. It was like he was receiving his own personal lecture. As they entered another hall Dazuma would ow keep his gaze forward. There was something growing in his belly, it was light, made him feel uneasy. Was he beginning to become anxious?

The truth was really starting to set in for Dazuma. He could trust no one from his Kingdom or anyone at all for that matter. Not fully. Not until he learned the nature of the shadow lingering over his brother. He drifted from the conversation with his bear pal. He began to spiral into his psyche. What was the reason Sheng killed their father? Was it truly all for the sake of having the power of the Emerald King? Banishing Nazuma, commanding his mother to perform yearly memory suppression rituals, even trapping Dazuma in the at home so he could drain Dazuma of his own birthright and claim to the throne. Was his brother truly to blame? Sheng had always been rough around the edges but what of the haunting presence he felt during their confrontation, an insidious force that even now as he trekked these halls seemed to be encroaching upon him. As they drew closer to thier destination Dazuma would try to shake his bad vibes. His curiosity was burning greater than his worries presently anyway so attempt to mentally shrug off the vibes and stayed on the task at hand. For now, he was safe. For now, he needed to focus on accruing the needed knowledge. What better way to understand the present than a good lesson in the past?!

"So you're here to study Cosmic phenomena in correlation to Lumin and the Astral year then."

So that was the connection. The reason for coming. But considering that Lumin was a source of energy. He wondered whether her own interest was purely academic. The crown-less lord continued. He was beginning to connect the dots. From how she explains it this Lumin seemed to be more of spontaneous and relatively recent discovery. Which also means a lot is not known about it. At least in that regard, he wasn't entirely virgin. The High Counselors probably knew more though than his novice companion. Perhaps he'd come across one of them soon. Until then he'd start his voyage with the lecture. They shouldn't tally any further. His people had been around for much of the passing era. Having found this land thousands of years after the passing of a worldwide calamity. Did they also have knowledge of their origins? He would simply press on if he overloaded himself with questions he wouldn't be receptive to the answers. But just what the hell was an Owl Elv. He wouldn't badger her with more inquisition either. He figured at this point he would learn more by baring his own witness. After all, after swinging through another set of halls they had reached their mark.

"Let's not starve ourselves any further then."

Upon reaching the door they would find it a bit treacherous to get in. The door was crowded with a bunch of students also trying to attend. This wouldn't do. Dazuma couldn't stomach listening from the outskirts of the classroom. He needed to be present. He needed to witness.

"This won't do will it?"

He whispered before he slipped his hands under his cloak. He would channel a small barely noticeable trace electrical into his fingertips on his left and right hand before shooting the twin marbles of force on both sides of the line. When they made contact with the ground they would produce a series of crackling and loud popping noises that would startle the group and cause them to scatter. He shot a mischievous look towards his companion as he'd make way for the entryway. And what awaited him inside he felt would lead a change. Of what remained to be seen.

Misha snarled at the masses of students crowding around a narrow corridor, they shoved one another, murmured and whispered about the subject matter she wanted to learn so desperately about. To anyone else it would sound like a jumbled mess of idle conversation, but she was a bear after all, she could hear everything she could hear Hugh tap the podium and draw breath from inside the lecture hall, she could hear students preparing for examinations, trying to cut one another inline. She could smell too. The smell of stress, sweat, anxiety and anticipation smelled a lot like sulfur and old leather. Misha was at an impasse, and let out a soft sigh. They were too late. Best sit outside and get what she could over all the ruckus. That was until Dazuma whispered up her ear

Misha eyes shot open, and her heart skipped a beat. She could smell the heat, from Dazuma’s fingers, the static like clear, scent of electricity and her the cracks and pops the shocks sent along the line to scare the students away. Violent audible pops echoed among the halls echoing much louder in the stonework open archways of the antechamber.

“Emergency Drill!”

Misha shouted to add to the ruckus, and the student scattered like flies. Neovia had a very ‘liberal’ code of conduct. But use of abilities was not allowed in the university among such delicate information! Still every now and then people would get carried away and set something on fire or in this case, cause some explosive noice. She couldn’t help but laugh as the students flew away from the scene, their robes trailing behind them like a sea of black ghosts. Despite his brashness, and judging by the shrieks of the students who scattered away from the door way, Dazuma was very affective.

“Can you ingrates keep it down! He’s about to begi- Oh”

Shouted a student among a group of three though a whisper, unlike the rest who fell for the ruse, these were the students crowding the doorway. Misha could smell them, the arrogance, and haughtiness that bled through their robes. They were everything she wanted to be. He turned around and faced Misha and Dazuma, along with another who was next to him. The last one was steadily taking very quick notes and was not interrupted from her academic trance to be bothered.

“Well what do we have here.”

His tone was so condescending and dismissive. He wore very extravagant clothes, a pair of glasses and two white intricate tattoos that covered his forearms.

“Looks like a Warg, Mammal type. I didn’t know animals read books.”

The other was very analytical, Misha could feel her dissect her with her eyes. She had loc’d hair and mix match rags compared to the one in the glasses. But her gaze was so intrusive, there was a subtle glow to her eye that had to be her Anthem.

“You all should move on, this lecture is at capacity.”

He smirked out the corner of his mouth. Misha growled almost instinctually…

“Emergency Drill!”
If he hadn't known any better hed think that Misha was his best friend from another lifetime. Either that or she really wanted to get into this lecture by any means necessary even if that mean encouraging Dazuma wild little antics. He might have been enjoying the stunt a little too much. It brought him back to before his departure from his homeland. He and his brother often were scolded for their deviant and mischievous behavior. Normally, Dazuma was just the accomplice. Following his twin around everywhere as just his tag along. However this time he guessed he was the bad influence. The swarm was fading and he was about to finally make his way to the educational splendor. At least so he thought.
“Can you ingrates keep it down! He’s about to be- Oh”
Three of them standing where others had fled. Cocky, he could tell. The expressions they wore was proof of certainty regarding their stature. His look quickly went from a jovial mood to a composed and somber one. He did not like the company of the pompous.
“Looks like a Warg, Mammal type. I didn’t know animals read books.”
But whats more than anything else... Dazuma really hated bullies especially the ones that targeted his friend. It was the fastest way to have the dethroned prince clambake these pests. But as far as he was concerned they were just another hurdle. He couldn't let himself been seen getting riled up. He remained calm. He extended his arm slightly in front of his bear pal. He caught wind of her growl, her irritation with these creeps was validated, but they had a goal in mind and he would make sure it was one they reached. He stepped forward, his posture a solemn one. His gaze fixated on the one who had a lot to say about his compatriots reading ability.

"You'd think with those wall mirrors attached to your face you'd know never to judge a book by its cover or do you even use those things to read?"

He bore a smirk on his own.

" I mean then again I was ignorant to the fact that polyester passed for upper echelon here in Neovia"

A cheap shot and an ugly chuckle, he could tell that it was a really good grade of fabric they were wearing. Much more valuable then what he had donned. But he knew the jab would sting one of the three. If he wasn't such a douche bag Dazuma might've acknowledged how handsome he was. His gaze shifted, this time to the girl. Her eyes twinkled with a certain glow. She was interesting, it was often the silent ones who were the most terrible. He still would stay curious. But typically you are the company you keep. Peering into the small gaps of space between them Dazuma could see into the lecture hall a bit, there were still just a few seats. He guessed the hardboiled trio were tryna get to them first and were keeping everyone else from getting access. Maybe he was being assertive, maybe he was being a brat. All he knew is that he and his buddy were attending this lecture.

"It would behoove the three of you to step aside instead. I doubt you wanna see what happens when you stand between a bear and her honey"

He said as his eyes narrowed just a bit more. He meant it. He knew he wouldn't be able to stay her hand, he doubted he even would try. Against these louts, he would end up giving her an overly willing hand. Normally he wouldn't want an aggressive route. But his curiosity was becoming a burden. And he would let nothing delay them further. These people needed to move. Voluntarily or otherwise...

“Heh.”

And the one with the glasses scoffed it off, it garnered a chuckle from the one meticulously taking notes to which the one with the glasses gave her a look of betrayal. Misha smirked too at Dazuma’s all too quick wit, she watched her prey closely, not wanting to make a scene but showing her teeth literally and metaphorically even as a woman she still retained the mannerisms of her Anthem that allowed her to transform into a bear, and now she was marking her territory. The ‘dumb’ animal bit was something she was going to get he whole life and she never got used to it. Still it was curious how there was dissent among the three, and it was obvious the one with the glasses presumed himself as a leader. But Dazuma’s tongue was rivaling the sharpness of her fangs. She could hear his heart quicken at the chance to unleash his intellect, the palpitations racing against the anticipation in the archway that was no clear of not only students but also teachers.

He couldn’t let this one roll off, obviously confident in his fashion choice he curled his lips under one another and took a step forward, Misha did too. Sensing combat. But the only in locks stopped him. And her adrenaline went back down to manageable levels. She wondered if Dazuma was pushing them too far. But she’d be lying if she said she didn’t enjoy this.

“He means fish. A bear and her fish.”

She bolstered his poetic threat with something much more reasonable. But by the comedic smirk of the one with the glasses, the dismissive gaze of the one with the glowing eye. The altering of the phrase took out the dramatic emphasis.

“Look, I’ll have you know what I’m wearing is now En Neovian Vogue. Scarves are the new thing. Secondly, what makes you two think you have a right to learn about the Astral Year.”

Proclaimed the one in the glasses.

“We’ve never seen you around before.”

The one with the loc’s followed up with another jab.

“Everyone deserves a right to any information they seek in the Conservatory”

“Everyone deserves a right to any information BLAH BLAH BLAH. Why don’t you join the rest of your kind and crack some skulls. Leave the heavy emotional lifting to the rest of us.”

The way the one with the locs mocked Misha made her grip Dazuma’s arm and lower it. She was getting tired of this exchange of words. But the glowy eyed woman looked at her friend’s scribbling for a second, and then back to Misha. She appeared emboldenned by what she had read on the pad. It didn’t matter. Misha was ready to claw their heads off their shoulders. She gave Dazuma a look of readiness.

“He means fish. A bear and her fish.”
Dazuma sighed a light one, this girl was something else.
“Look, I’ll have you know what I’m wearing is now En Neovian Vogue. Scarves are the new thing. Secondly, what makes you two think you have a right to learn about the Astral Year.”
So testy this guy with the glasses. He was clearly a self-proclaimed leader. Dazuma was truly pulling back the brunt of his verbal punches for fear they might turn into literal ones. Pounding these cretins in the dirt wouldn't bother him but possibly missing out on the lecture because of it did.

"Indeed they are, though your little trinket pales in comparison to mine"

In both length and composition. He removed his cape, that gave visibility to his own scarf. A wonderous emerald concoction teeming with rare and priceless jewels woven intimately into its marrow. He might've turned this little altercation into a tea party of fashion decorum. That was until the boy questioned their right to learn. That pissed him off. Thoroughly, now he didn't care how far he was taking it or pressing them at all. If anything he was ready to take it further. They were trying to be the brains and the brawn of the student body. He was one step away from showing them what both of those things truly looked like. It might've been his former stature as a royal, but he really didn't like being denied access to something he wanted. Even further, as per Misha expression of this place, things were here to be shared not consolidated. They were acting outside their bracket.
“We’ve never seen you around before.”
"Well now you've seen us"

Dazuma Kitana was also visible. The gold hilt gleamed as his posture shifted to a slightly more irritable one. The pair really didn't have time for this and he was truly losing patience. When the girl with locks mocked his friend he would be seen with his fist balled while bitting down on his lip. He was getting fed up. His rising naten was proof of this. Misha was at her wit's end, he could tell by the way she moved his arm out the way. She was a hop skip and a jump away from introducing these folks to the floorboards.

"You would make fun of her because she is different? You would challenge her Neovian given right to learn and better herself because of your own ignorant views and misplaced importance?! No...that won't do at all. Listen and please hear me well..."

Dazuma, his voice was shaking but his gaze was filled with an intense sense of vehemence. He was not a happy camper.

" Unless you're some type of counselor get out of our way...because if you don't."

His naten was aggravated, his soul was beginning to tremble. Dazuma was never good at controlling himself when faced with hurdles that demeaned that which he cared for. If they were dead set on making him an enemy. It was going to be a choice they

"Misha here won't be the only one breaking skulls"

He started cracking his knuckles, magical energy fluctuating subtly between them. A small spark of electricity could be seen flickering about the black gloves he wore. He stared exclusively at the guy with the glasses though his intent was so thick it could be felt by the five of them. He was done with all the foreplay. He looked Misha, her glare spoke volumes. If she looked closer, she would see he did as well.

"Try me..."

He stood there. Present and ready. His sapphire serpent stare was locked. That was their final warning.

The anticipation hung in the air for a moment. The silence catalyzing into electric anticipation with Dazuma and Misha bearing fangs and the entitled threesome far too collected yet equally offended someone would contest their right for knowledge. The only thing that could be heard mixing with Dazumas subtle crackles and sparks was the incessant scribbling of the silent third member of the trinity. The one with the glowing eyes glanced down at the pad once more, then back to Misha, something was amiss, she drew breath. Misha took a step forward sensing some sort of attack until the glowy eyed maiden shouted

"HES RIGHT THERE! HIM, HIM AND THE WARG!"

Misha was thrown from her fury, all of her heightened senses were focused on an attack from the three she had numbed herself to outside information. There were a series of footsteps coming from across the emerald green, grassy quad. She could hear 9 footsteps, 4 people? She jerked her head to the right and tried to compose herself but it was entirely too late. The Destati were upon them.

"We came as soon as we could, folks were saying someone let off explosions in here!"

They were dressed in rather simple black and brown robes with pins of the neovian symbol binding them around their waist and neck, two were hooded the others were not. One was human, the other was some sort of insectoid with 5 legs the other two were floating off the ground? Misha didn't know if she should be embarrassed at her terrible estimate or the fact that she was still snarling at a group of children. She tried to compose herself but it was already too late.

"These are the ones?"

The insectoid spoke through hisses and clicks. The one in the glasses looked so innocent, like he stubbed his toe, he nodded.

"W-W Wait! We didn't do anyth-"

She tried to profess their innocence but-

"Any use of combat oriented Anthems is strictly prohibited. Please remove yourself from the premises, or be removed!"

Misha looked to Dazuma. It all happened so fast, the situation escalated so quickly all on her first day of arrival. Her blood was boiling but she withheld her instinct to growl the smug looks of the trinity just made things worse and the one who was writing upon the pad stopped writing, and looked up for the first time. She had grey skin, pointed ears and red eyes she had the nerve to show what she was writing on the pad to Misha, and it looked just like the scene that played before their very eyes. Them two, surrounded by Destati, being escorted off campus.

The tension as so thick he wasn't sure his blade could cut through it. He couldn't deny that he was activated. It was taking a lot in him not to just have at these guys in front of him. But this wasn't why he was here, and he knew if he took it any further he wouldn't be able to find the answers he sought. Just as his fist was loosening the one who had been silent this whole time yelled out. Dazuma eyes darted over to her, Miha had stepped forward, something fishy was going on and she had picked up on it. Dazuma was so blinded by his irritation with the four-eyed bafoon he didn't even notice the other girls odd behavior.
"HES RIGHT THERE! HIM, HIM AND THE WARG!"
Why the hell was she screaming like that? Who was she calling? That curiosity was short-lived as the slight rumbling of drum-like pitter patter caused Misha to turn around as did he. And boy he couldn't hide his surprise if he wanted to. The insectoid almost got fried ff pure reflex. Dazuma did not do bugs, on any level whatsoever. But there was something to be said about how he was handling himself. Back home he was trained and raised to a master of communicative arts. He probably could have easily swayed the Brady bunch to move. He supposed he was counter transferring is own trauma around elitism onto these brats. His actions lead to this, and his pride would not let her, Misha, take the fall. After she simply was his guide.

" Please please, lets all just settle down."

He said with a slightly jovial tone. Not to make lite of the situation but he was being held accountable by the most oddly formed security group he had ever seen. Neovia, it was truly a place of wonder. And respecting this, he would see to it that Miha could attend the lecture she wanted. He looked to her, his gaze sobered up for a split second. He wouldn't wink because he didn't want to seem suspicious or raise any eyebrow that would dilute the authenticity of his honesty. But after the split second gander, he returned to the friendlier expression before slowly raising my hand.

"You'll have to forgive me, I am new to this fine establishment and come from a land with customs much more different than yours. In a superbulous effort to help me attain my footing on this foreign soil, my ursarian companion here offered to act as a guide to the lecture of High counselor Hughes."

He said using his left hand to slightly gesture towards Misha who readily tried to profess their innocence. In actuality, she was innocent and Dazuma would see to it that be known. His face became a bit more welcoming as his gaze shifted to the human one. He could've gotten them outta this but not without revealing his lineage and giving the false king a trail to sniff out. He had to do this off his own merits.

"As arduous as the journey of comprehension on here way for me proved to be she gave me quite the helpful hand. Upon arriving here however we were met with a large group of peers preventing us from getting in. With the three of them blocking the doorway stating they would allow nothing no one to pass."

He turned wouldn't even look there way, the trio of trolls that is. God was he pissed, but if he was gonna get her in that lecture he had to maintain accountability. His head lowered into that of a deep apologetic bow. His snowy hair avalanching softly over his face hiding blocking off eye contact. His bit his lip in frustration. It was gonna eat him alive to say these nex words.

"Though the blame is mine. It was my use of Anthem that caused the disturbance. I really just wanted to make sure my friend was able t have an equal opportunity to learn and share in Neovias knowledge as I was taught was the right of all who stepped within these walls. A right those three sought to usurp. I reacted, angered to see them treat her with such distasteful manners. Flinging what i assumed to be prejudice slurs while barring her access. It infuriated me. Though, I do understand laws are laws. I will gladly leave. "

Dammit...he really was siked about that lecture.

"But please do not deny Misha. She did not play a part in all this, simply a humble leader. I mean...Everyone deserves a right to any information they seek in the Conservatory right?"

He stayed bowed. People had crowded once more after the arrival of the destai. They were gasping and caking about amongst themselves. They watched with anticipation, there were those who thought the both of them should be tossed out for such recklessness. They were others who among them attested to Dazuma statement about the troll blocking access to the lecture. The student body was getting a bit rowdy. It wasn't until the one of the Destai raised there hand to silence their protest did he even take a breath.

Misha was completely floored at the verbal silk spilling out of Dazuma’s lips. The way he spoke was similar to how he addressed her earlier, sure but the craft of his language seemed almost too diplomatic, as if he was used to counseling lords and ladies of some sort. Very different from Misha who was used to telling stories around a fire curled in in her bear form with her tribe. Even the Destati who were normally all about the business of maintaining order didn’t interrupt him. It was so fluid that the trinity of troublemakers didn’t even get a word in.

As soon as the insect drew breath to speak a stampede of students rushed out of the lecture hall shoving the troublemakers out of the way knocking the glasses off of one which elicited a soft chuckleTheir voices and footsteps roared through the antechamber as they swam around them without pausing to address the spectacle.

“The use of combat anthems is strictly prohibited.”

He continued to stay whilst being jostled slightly by busybody students of all shapes and sizes with distinguished features.

“We will let you off with a warning this time.”

Misha felt an instinctual sigh fire from her lips. All the tension left her body and she even relaxed her fangs. A warning, that was all. Thank the mother.

“This is a place of learning. Take the violence elsewhere.”

Replied the cloaked floating figure, he was addressing all of them. Even the three, the one with the glasses finally found his spectacles and placed them on his face. What did they have to gain by missing the lecture themselves just to keep others from entering Misha wondered.

“As you all were.”

And the Destati melded with the sea of students to make their rounds of the campus. The one who was sketching tore off the piece of paper and balled it up before setting it alight with a pale green flame that manifested from her palms. Out of all the three she intrigued Misha the most.

“Fancy speech. But don’t let us see any of you anywhere near here again.”

Replied the one with the locs.

“Or we’ll finish what we started. This is a place for academics. Not for tumbleweeds like yourselves, leeches of the knowledge.”

“I hope see you all sometime OFF campus.”

Misha resigned to say, the fire inside of her wasn’t completely snuffed out. She wanted to take a crack at these assholes.

“I’ll count on it.”

The three gathered their things and walked away with the ocean of students evaporating around them. Misha took another deep breath an exhaled a bit of a grunt.

“Come on, we made it this far.”

She still wanted to see the lecture hall at least. So she made her way inside, Dazuma could follow her or not. Her determination over shadowed her politeness for now.

It seems his years of tutelage in language arts and communication would grant him another moment of reprieve in this place however brief it would be. Dazuma would have a heavy mental sigh, boy had he been fortunate. He thought of home, the rigorous lessons and long hours of training. Studying the psychological processes and how it pertained to being a leader. A king...the mental beatings he suffered should he ever fall short. All these things played in his mind for but a moment before the students flooded the space. Shit....seems like they missed the lecture dealing with these hobknockers.

"Noted"

He responded to the leaving Destati after they departed completely the trash brigade got to taunting them again, not much to say when the Destati were here. To do so would've brought more light towards their guilt, they were coward. They weren't worth direct responses from him anymore. They weren't in the way no longer, he had no business with them further. He turned to Misha, he was pressed and rightly so. He didn't get testy about her down, he understood her frustration. With him, she would've been free to arrive early and enjoy the lecture. He wouldn't internalize her irritation. She was right they had come this far already.

"Indeed...we've wasted enough time fumbling through the rabble here."
