A Breach In Our Defenses

Post by Michio Tribe »

From the long translucent table in Kham's secluded command center grew a grid of pointed spires as long as his index finger. In all his knowledge he had come to acquire the story of the Great 13, their fight against the Horsemen past and their attempts to ward their influence away by creating this grid of obelisks across The Mother. The architects of old were a mysterious bunch who never disclosed the methods behind their madness but there were many of these creations placed in calculated locations across the planet. Kham had spent years scouring the archives of the Primodial Scholars to ascertain the knowledge to deduce why the spires were placed where they were, and under what conditions and he just about cracked the code. Unfortunately? So did his enemies. What was suposed to be indestructible structures that would self regenerate if destroyed were now vanishing rapidly across the planet. Permanent destruction of this sort was only possible by agents of the Horsemen or their underlings and by the urgency in which Kham's eyes danced along the table, you could tell he was hoping the Heralds return wasn't already upon them. He was counting the spires, until one of them broke and fizzled out into dust.

"Damnit..."

He swore under his breath and swiped his finger along the translucent table scanning the scope of the planet with more spires across it, with more spires crumbling and disappearing. These occultist as he had come to call them were growing more and more bold by the moon cycle. And it was time to send in a pair of agents that would hit them so hard, they would think twice about emerging from their den. The grid of spires receded into the table giving rise to the figurines of the agents in and out of deployment. One was a muscular figure with a head full of hair, a man of whom Kham had taken great liking to- Sheng, and another was a child who was rather lean with only one leg who had something to prove, Kevin Mitre of the Diamond Dust village. Kham tapped both of their figurines, sat back in his chair and waited.

"Crap crap crap crap."

Is all that could be heard under Sheng breath as he would quickly speed walk through the C.O.E.R base making his way to the chamber Kham was currently in. While being known to arrive quickly when summoned it was noticeable the Sheng was late compared to his usual track recored when summoned by Kham. This was also strange as Sheng was suppose to be on standby at the C.O.E.R facility this it should had been rather simple for him to arrive rather quickly. This lateness was the result of Sheng leaving the C.O.E.R facility to go train in The Frozen Wastes have become bored simply sitting around in the C.O.E.R facility doing nothing. However, this little excursion had now come back to bite him in the butt hard as he had been summoned by Kham unexpectedly. Soon enough however Sheng would arrive at the doors leading to the room Kham was waiting and after making quickly clean himself up, knocking the snow and ice off him and healing any noticeable bruises which walk through the doors. Upon entering the room Sheng would take note of the table in front of Kham but could not really make out or honestly understand all the information being displayed on it. Sheng would quickly bow showing his upmost respect to his leader before raising his head to speak.

"I apologize for my tardiness Sheng reporting for duty!"

"Out of all the people I expect to be punctual it would be you old friend."

Kham gestured to one of the chairs along the translucent table.

"Take a seat while we wait some more for your plus one."

There was tardiness and lateness all around. COER was stretched so damn thin he couldn't blame Sheng for wanting to get some personal time in while he wasn't deployed. He had a very unique skill-set that Kham required now. One he hoped would make a big impact on whoever was destroying these obelisks.

"How was the training?"

"How was the training?"
Those words would cause Sheng to stutter step as he would walk over toward the nearest chair to take a seat along the translucent table.

"Its was nothing special this time around but still progress is progress."

It was only wishful thinking the Kham would not be aware of Sheng's outing to The Frozen Wastes and since Kham knew there was no reason to lie or anything of the sort. Kham was a good friend and commander so he deserved such respect, also on the pulse side despite his outing it seemed Kham seemed to be understanding about it. Sheng would take a moment to look over the translucent table noting the few spires along the grid but honestly could not make heads or tails of what it was suppose to be displaying.

"So who will be must pulse one today if memory serves most of the usuals have already been deployed on missions so who besides me is left?"

He couldn't help but nod, Sheng was always trying to improve. Progress was certainly progress, and while the progress COER was making was incredibly small, it was something.

"I guess it's common knowledge then, everyone knows our resources are stretched very thin. Which is why I've reached out to the diamond dust village to assist."

"The Diamond Dust Village huh."

Sheng would say this as he began to relax more casually learning back in his seat while glancing at Kham for a moment as he spoke and then back over to the grid on the table. Sheng knew little to nothing about any other villages around the area besides the neighboring Astral Chaos and even that information was limited. There where more then likely files/documents that Sheng could have read about them, but honestly that was simply not Sheng style. While overall not being called a muscle head by others it was still mostly true, Sheng was an enforced not a tactician, not a big brain but simply a powerful force directed to where ever Kham needed him.

"Well then I will do my best to be a good representative of C.O.E.R while on this mission with them."
