Last of the Primordials

Post by Kilik »

Character Details

Name: Kilik or Iridia. While Kilik is her given name, others in her tribe also call her Iridia, the name of her ancestor with the same mysterious scales Kilik has.

Age: 10. (20 in the years of her people.)

Hair color Kilik's natural hair color was originally dark brown. However, when she was born, she awakened as a Djynn bearer, and her hair color became pale lilac.

Eye color: Her outer Iris is a light, almost translucent cherry pink, while her inner iris has an iridescent sparkle like a rainbow. They are draconic and fearsome to behold.

Height: Kilik is 5’8, but her attitude is 7ft tall.

Unique Marks: Nissago Seadras are scaled aquatic creatures with scale patterns unique to each individual. Since their Anthem allows them to change their configuration, they adopt the most comfortable appearances. Her scale pattern is draconic-like with a fierce density to match. Like her great-grandmother before her, though, that same mutation causes her scales to appear like that of the starry nebula of the cosmos above, as well as replacing her tail with legs.

Kilik also has a pair of leafy brown horns. They are covered in aquamarine-like algae sustained by the natural body, allowing them to exist healthily on land or undersea. This Algae is a rare plantlife that is only native to the bodies of her people. When extracted properly, it creates a potent elixir capable of extending lives beyond their years. It is for this reason that the Nissago that once upon a time, humans hunted her kind near extinction. Those scars still run deep.

Parents: Kilik was raised by two wonderful parents. Her mother, Niyah, who is just as stern as she was stoic, but when it came to her daughter, a heart of cotton. Her father, Ezeri, who is easygoing and affirming, made sure Killik understood the value of family and trained her to protect herself and the things and people she loved, even at the risk of her own life. None more so than the grove they are sworn to defend, a lesson in which her mother gave his very life to uphold. Though she has always had her parents' backing, the Nissago sincerely practices "It takes a village," as cultivating the young and protecting the elderly are interchangeable. One can have many mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, and siblings. Bloodline does not constrain the Nissago. Bonds, community, love, and respect were the foundations of Nissago units, chosen or otherwise.

Species: Nissago Seadras are the most territorial of the Atlanteans on the Jaida Coast. They reside in the coral groves of Mares Vidas, away from prying eyes. Mostly reclusive and solitary, they cultivate and nurture the forest, spreading its reach by propagating and transplanting the corals. This stewardship makes them fiercely protective of their local environment, drawing sharp borders between them, other Atlanteans, and especially the people on the surface.

Stoic and deliberate, they undertake an ascetic monkhood devoted to the coral groves they cultivate for The Mother. Their monkhood makes them like brothers to the other Atlanteans in Mares Vidas. Nissago has shorter life spans than most elvs as they only live for 50 years max. They do not lament their short lives as they find meaning in knowing that even in death, they still support the grove's growth, which is becoming part of its architecture. Because of her dragon lineage, Kilik will live a life span that dwarfs that of her people. Where their lives are like subtle ripples in the ocean, hers is like a wave nigh perennial that will continue for several millennia. One of the reasons she has resolved never to return home, knowing many of those she grew up around would one day join the grove, was more than she could take.

Personality: Kilik was known to be a compassionate, helpful girl raised by two loving parents. She was community-focused and placed everything into whatever she did, no matter how big or small the task. Even in her early youth, she had a natural talent for combat. In battle, she was like an entirely different person, ruthless and calculating, even able to best people thrice her size. Because of her mutation she was the only of her kind to be born with legs instead of a tail, her kin saw her as more human than Seedra. Though no one ever openly voiced their reservation, it wasn't needed since nissago could feel the emotions of those around them. Despite this, Kilik did not allow it to detour her from her passion for her people, their ways, and traditions. She knew her family feared her, so she went out of her way to train and master her emotions so that others would feel safe around her. And for some time, their fear had been assuaged.

But after her mother was murdered, Kilik's entire demeanor changed. Her happy, gleeful, helpful face was instead twisted into a solemn, festering fury that, no matter how she tried to stuff it down, wouldn't leave. Present-day Kilik's presence is like the stillness of night in the given form. To contain her nature, she wears a veil of casual indifference. She is driven by the purpose of using her power to bring down the people responsible for her mother's demise. Though she can struggle to consider more than her vengeance, deep inside, she still has a compassionate heart, as it is nearly impossible to see someone hurting and not treat them. She also has a fondness for children she sees as pure and untainted, as hatred is often an heirloom.

Pillars

Central: Kilik has sometimes struggled to exist peacefully alongside other Nissago. Her draconic nature was more challenging to control in her youth, manifesting that if she ever got severe in battle, she was regarded and feared for her lack of control. Through her monkhood, she learned to tame and control her inheritance to some degree and became one of the fiercest defenders of the grove to date. At least until her mother was killed in an Atlantean plot to assassinate Zero Venkage. The rage within her awakened within her once more, causing her to rampage where she almost took her fathers life. Her grief was deeply rooted and made it impossible for her to move on from his death. None of her breath was able to help her, so Rather than risk her ire harming those she loved, she left the grove and went into a year of isolation, once again honing her nature with one goal in mind. Come the next Neo Festival, Kilik would slay Zero and finish the mission her father began.

Contrast: Remember the Conflict of Chianti Classico. As if she ever could. The horrific upheaval of the coast by the Chianti is battered into the skulls of every Atlantean but none more than the Nissago, who of all the races are the most prejudiced against surface creatures, in particular humans. It was then that one of their eldest legends was born. The purpose of the siege was the precious resources of the Toscano Bay and the Nissago for their rare horns, for which many lives were taken. Iridia Kilik's ancestor, known to be a powerful but compassionate seer, cried out in prayer so filled with fury and despair the Wave Bearer could not ignore her. Oryvn appeared from the primordial plane, awakened from her slumber, taking the seer as her chosen and imbuing her with the essence of an Elder Dragon, transforming her forever into a living primordial, the last of her kind. With an incomparable display of power that was deity-like in stature, the Chianti were driven back, and the coast prevailed. However, her vessel anger was so great that the draconic spirit was part of the drawback from her birthright; she inherited not only her grandmother's power but also the rage that sired the original pact. Since then, Orvyn's madness prevents her and Kilik from speaking, as it takes everything in Kilik to maintain sovereignty over herself.

Crossing: Orvyn remembers what many in the world have forgotten. The Beryl Sovereign, losing her physical body to save the world, Fulgora's betrayal of the other Primordials, and The Blight of the Denkou-shi that followed. Though much of the world has forgotten the horrific terrors sedra's faced in that age, Kilik has not and harbors a deep disdain for surface dwellers, one that, if she were ever to become a villain, would see the surface world dragged beneath the waves.

Active: After leaving her home for the surface, she faced harrowing dangers and fearsome creatures. A world new to her, yet flickers of memories from a time beyond her have made her journey oddly nostalgic. After nearly losing her life to a treachours beast, she was taken in by an elvn mystic who, in a twist of fate that might've been ordained, was not only a retired warrior of great renown but also the last of a people who understood spoke "Elder Speech" the tongue of the Primordials; The Ataeru. A woman known as Eralia, The Blade Dancer. A prodigal savant of fencing and master of the sword. They shared very little in common, as Eralia had lived many centuries longer; however, Kilik's grief, rage, and desire for the power to see the world as it should be, not how it is. Those things Eralia understood as her people were victims, her children slain, making her the last of her people. Eralia, nearing the end of her life, saw her meeting with Kilik as an unignorable providence, as her only regret was taking Noa Banyu to her grave. She saw this as a chance to "return" to the Elder Wyrms the knowledge they once bestowed upon her people.

Kilik initially refused her hatred for surface dwellers, which was still fresh, ignoring her for weeks until Eralia presented her with a bargain. Should she defeat Kilik in battle, she must agree to become her disciple. Confident in her ability, Kilik was utterly outmatched by Eraila, who was almost effortlessly able to subdue her despite her draconian heritage. Now humbled, she developed a reverence for Eralia, becoming her protege. During her first six months under Eralia's tutelage, Kilik underwent daily training so fearsome it nearly claimed her life multiple times, expanding her limits and honing her body, mind, and soul. During the final six months, Eralia taught her the power and origin of Elder speech and the ava of her people that helped them wield the power effectively. She also handed down her secret sword style, which, after acclimating the stances and forms to her own skill set, Kilik dubbed it "Yuzurenai Nami" Dance of Unyeilding Waves' an ode to the swift fluidity of her master's movements and the surmounting yet focused power behind her strikes with her twist being the use of her scales illusionary abilities to disorient her opponent.

In all their time together, her master never tried to convince her not to exact her revenge with her dying breath. She told Kilik, "To become who you wish to be, you must sacrifice who you are. Be wary that what you take is not more than what you can give." Those words clung to Kilik, and she still ponders her master's meaning. But she could not allow it to sway her, not now, for the time has neared, the lunar eclipse is approaching again, and with it, another festival where she will surely come across Zero Venkage. The time to see the abyssal fury of not just her but all those before her satiated, the crumbling of Madeira, the fall of the legend, a sea of red would blanket it for a second time. Her father was avenged, a long hatred quelled, and Orvyn's peace restored.

Anthem

Name: Ryujin Fantasia
Stage: Bea
Description: It is known that the Nissago Seadras can use their scales' reflective, reactive quality to channel energy through and around them. It is most commonly used to manipulate light for illusionary effects and can change their appearance. Kilik's anthem, however, has evolved monumentally because of her inheritance. Within her is an entity whose origins date back to the first Astral Year, an advent that thrust consciousness into the world. A primordial, ancient fae born of the founding elements(Fire/Water/Earth/Air) from which all life is sired and manifest in Dragons. Her legacy, Orvyn, is the Primordial Djynn Of Water, a guardian once worshiped as an incarnation of the ocean, a protector of the seas, and the life that claimed them as their home. Her exceptional mastery allows Kilik to manipulate her scales even more than her kin, for they regenerate at incredible speeds. She can configure these scales to form a litany of offensive and defensive techniques or even configure them to create illusions. Her draconic inheritance makes her scale much more challenging than steel, and when embued with magic, she can increase their sharpness to slice through weaker material like paper. Her pact with Orvyn grants her access to water magic that is esoteric in scale; she can freely manipulate the element of water and use it to perform all kinds of feats. There is also a mythic form of invocation called Noa Banyu, also known as Wyrmspeech, an almost incredulous arbiter that is still difficult for her to control. The deeper wells of Orvyn's power still elude her, and she has not heard the voice of the Wave Bringer clearly since the day their pact was formed.

Magical Arbiters
Name: Kira
Stage: Ava
Description: A style of invocation centered around compression. The medium in which the Ataeru could wield the softened power of Wyrmspeech by comporessing it to levels easier for their to control. These hand signs allowed them to maximize the energy released from the ancient invocation in controlled increments. In Kilik's hand, they are used casually to need her naten for her abilities and have become ritualistic for her in compressing Orvyn's madness enough for her to stay in control.

Name: Noa Banyu
Stage: Dea
Description: Translated in the common Vescrtuia language, it means "Movement Of Water." It is part of a tongue so ancient it is considered a dead language. The Primordials, whose existences were so heavy, their voices impressed themselves upon the world, causing movements and change within the elements of their domain. Its mystical patois manifests as glyphs that act as mediums for whatever spell is being cast; because of the nature in which Wyrmspeech functions, a fully invocated spell spoken can have its power increase triple fold the grander the incantation if used too frequently; she could suffer physical drawbacks from receive magical depletion. This can leave her bedridden for days if she is not careful.

Name: Spell Crafting:
Stage:Ava
Description: A trait of Noa Banyu that allows Kilik to develop a new spell on the fly. So long as she is evident in her articulation, intent and possesses the needed naten she can potentially craft a spell for any situation.

Name: Noa Caar(Shape)
Stage: Bea
Description: This spell allows Kilik to manipulate existing water in ways limited by her imagination. Freezing, heating, or its viscosity are within her realm to play with as she pleases. The amount of water correlates with the amount of naten she needs to do so.

Name: Noa Sozu(Creation)
Stage Dea
Description: If there is no water for her to manipulate, Kilik can conjure water from thin air, though at the cost of a more drain on her naten reserves.

Name: Noa Hyokostu( Enhancement)
Stage: Dea
Description: Kilik has learned to use water magic to improve her physical prowess. She can increase her speed, durability, and reflexes by suffusing her body with magic.
Martial Arbiters
Fighting Styles

Zorasu: A type of hand-to-hand combat that is practiced traditionally amongst the Nissago. It is centered around using an opponent's power against them, priming them for fearsome and brutal retalions and counters. Kilik has intertwined this principle with the moments of her sword style, creating a fluent and original form of martial arts.

Sword Styles

Name: Yuzurenai Nami( Dance of Unyielding Waves)
Description: Kilik created a fencing sword style by merging her master's" Blade Dancer" with elements of Zorasu reactive principles. It focuses on revealing, taking advantage of the targets weakness and punishing them severely through a combination of disorienting illusory tactics, swift, fluid movements that overwhelm with concentrated power behind its strikes, boasting fearsome piercing potential. It is designed to shatter susceptible defenses and create openings in more challenging ones.

Weapons
Vorpalian: A keepsake of her master. Vorpalian is a truly unique blade fashioned from an enchanted acquis alloy, giving it the illusion of subtly moving water, allowing it to be used as a magical focus. It is an dangerously sharp weapon but it's true grandeur ofis the coating of magical crystal it is layered with. This material is known as Clearwood, a mystical stone that grows into the shape of small trees. It can store and even compress light, giving her blade a property similar to her scales. She can use this to fire beams of naten or cast a minor illusion on her weapon and make it appear to be something it's not. Like a snake attempting to bite or a hand reaching for the neck. Coupled with her swordplay, Kilik is an unexpectedly dastardly beast in battle.
Traits
Draconic Condition: Kilik's speed and durability are superhuman. However, though he is naturally more physically powerful than common lifeforms, her true strength is in her otherworldly reflexes.

Accelerated Maturity: Kilik is a prime species of her kind and much more. Her growth accelerated, and she will reach her peak condition in another year. From there, Kilik's aging will slow, seemingly stopping as the ages come. Though she is considered young in human eyes, she is a young adult by Nissago standards.

Notion of Okeanos: Seadras can feel the emotions of the living things around them. Kilik's empathic abilities make it very difficult to deceive her. While she is a master at pinpointing and, if need be, manipulating the emotions of others. She struggles to, at times, control her own.

Sidra de Seadra: Their bodies produce a film that invigorates cells, encouraging growth and development. This substance is the driving component in their coral grove stewardship. It allows the Seadras to recover quickly from most injuries and rejuvenate living cells by coming into contact with them.
"I hear the screams of the Ocean, the cries of the waves. The sea floor yearns for healing and begs for retribution. My wish is to grant it"
