Um, Help? I think?

Post by Ves »

Mera had never known a ‘day-off’. Even putting the two words together in her head didn’t make much sense. It made her laugh really. Every day was a day to be better, do more, learn more, even on days like this the moonlight equilibrium, when the Moons danced a dance so close they threatened to collide, and the suns rays yielded them a dance floor off stars, there was still always something to be done. The Lila’Maya understood why she was this way, but Mera always considered the Neovians an easy going sort. They ‘had all the time in the world’ until it was taken from them by some unknown force or disease. This attitude, the lengthly strides she took, and the vector of a line she walked, eternally focused on her destination had to come from her father Ray. A man of simple means, one of many fisherman along the freshwater sea who rose when the suns peaked over the horizon, fished, fed his family, and rested; in that order. She had known no other life than playing along the sea bank and would grow to be a trader of her own someday. The world wasn’t much bigger than her seaside hut. But oh was it so much bigger. So much more vast. It was only when Mera fled for her life from raiders along the coast of the sea and became the Arch-Seer of the Lila’Maya did she realize that her father’s determination was her greatest strength. After he was killed for refusing to ‘donate’ his labor, she fled into the Rainbow Forest until she was taken in and taught the Illusion of Play.

She would reflect on those days often if she had time, and unfortunately for her. Today was one of those days. A ‘Day Off’ a festival in Neovia. The hospital was far too quiet. Far too empty. She sat upon the windowsill one of Neovia General’s many halls, a greenhouse by all accounts completely overrun by flora and fauna alike. It was like nature had taken its rightful place over the archieture of mankind and consumed it. From the ground, who’s tiles had moss, and bladed soft grass spewing from in-between the cracks, to the vines which outlined the windows and had to be trimmed to prevent them from covering the glass- nature ran its course in here, wild and unchecked. Mera climbed the window sill and ran her finger along the strange plants hanging from the ceiling. They were purple flowers shaped like envelopes for sending letters with fist-sized bumps enclosed in their embrace. They seemed to coo, in response in response to her touch . She smiled and tickled the flower some more, and what was inside the folds poked his head out. A birth with 4 eyes and long stinger rose to greet her.

“Hello little one. Just wanted some company is all. I know it’s late.”

‘HoneySuckles’ birds with long stingers who pollenated plants. Their saliva glands transferred healing properties in the amino acid exchange that yielded morning dew upon their leaves that were a common ingredient for a popular antiseptic. The bird scoffed and retreated inside its envelope leaving Mera alone to her thoughts again.

"You too huh."

She sighed and cautiously reached into her lab coat for a vial. The flowers were moist with dew it was time to harvest them anyhow. Skillfuly she ran the glass vial along the outside of the flower, careful to not wake more of the Honey Suckles and collected that valuable nectar for a far too often used chemical compound, and lowered herself back down barefoot upon the soft mossy tile to the floor.

"COER goes through this stuff by the gallon."

She examined the purple liquid, bubbly and viscous like mucus and deposited it into her lab coat.

Mera’s mind was racing a mile a minute in the silence with thoughts of her past, missing her father. She was powerless to heal his wounds, a dumb fisher girl who knew nothing but the right time, and right bait from which to feast. She shook her head trying to jettison those thoughts from her mind and set herself to a new task. A dismal task nonetheless, staring outside of the window. From here she could see Neovia Citadel, a cathedral of a building who’s streets were overrun with a color palate of different colored lights. The festival was in full swing and undoubtedly the others were having an excellent time at the High Counselors Gala. She let everyone go enjoy the festivities just so she could be alone for once, and keep the entire hospital to herself. But the silence was becoming a bit too much.

-Sounds of shattered space and curling winds howled down the hollow corridors of the Neovian Clinic, dropping Savaj, Cross, and Imani unto it’s prisitine tiles like dead bodies just behind Mera’s free skating gaze. The three of them were preceded by a legion of women, bashed and battered, who they rescued from an interdimensional prison cell. There had to be at least a hundred wounded who appeared out of thin air, dropping into waiting rooms, unattended stretchers, operating rooms, and the such.-

“Hey!!”

-Savvy called from the middle of the floor, weakly hoisting herself up against the wall to address the figure she sensed maybe ten feet away. She was wearing a robe that had been violently torn from her chest down to her abdomen after SILK’s invasive examination. She had no apparent injuries but Her comrades were just hanging on by a thread and Savvy’s brain was still braving a neural storm that should have mangled her subconscious into a brittle shell of itselr. But her glossy green eyes refused to pass out just yet.

“..breaks ova’..”

-She said, rummaging through her pocket and pulling out a orange colored capsule; her Pezz dispenser so to speak. Inside it had been a cocktail of pills, opioids, smokes, and other potent chemical edibles she loved to pop after an extraneous mission. Helped get the edge off. But when her bruised eyes finally focused, her lips curled in dismay to find the hand sized plastic container melted into a crusted shadow of itself. Her groans tumbled down the halls, carrying with it the palpitated multitude of her frustration and anger. -

Mera hardly had time for a question let a lone for a reply, but she did have time to thank the powers that be that the COER agents she would be expecting had finally arrived. Now she could do what she did best- Give her all to the benefit of those that need her skills as a Seer. She swooped in upon the three, and ended up kneeling on the ground next to them.

“I was told you all would be coming. Kham should be on his way. The others you brought here are all stabilized, minor breaks, some just in shock.”

She extended her hands toward the bald one with charred brown skin.

“Multiple lacerations in non vital areas, crushed vocal chords, she drowned? Incisions, surgical to the neck, and palms. Did you all JUST leave a hospital? Rhetorical. Save the debrief for The Destroyer.”

Contrary to her very statuesque position, her hands were twitching, fingngers flexing in and out like some sort of barometer that was getting a read upon Imani’s divine paradox of a condition. What Imani’ could see, that the others cannot was how The Mother disbursed Naten to all creation. Like a stream of sorts, the planet Vescrutia flowed an abundance of energy endlessly toward her ungrateful children who all ingested it in different ways. Most Elvs, and human kind had similar ravines of Naten Networks. They looked akin to the nervous system, with various nodes and points throughout the body where energy could be harness, expressed and even blocked. But Mera saw something else entirely In Imani, something every different than the others. She saw something she hadn’t seen in a very long time. No conventional naten network, a dying one that would feed energy to every part of the body at max output. An Anima? They were supposed to be extinct. She didn’t gasp. Not that she wasn’t startled, but her body was very much immobile when she was using her abilities.

“Keep an eye on this one.”

With punctuated sigh, she removed herself from that plane of existence reached into her lab coat and quickly reached for a pair of goggles in her lab coat that She handed to savaj. They looked like a pair of plain ordinary standard issue eye protectants, but Cross and her coven of lab technicians who were by no means trained doctors, moreso engineers constantly observed Mera and the Lila’Maya doing their medicine work, attempting to to replicate their miracles since the day the hospital was created. These goggles were would not only allow Savaj to see what she saw, but see vital signs and other redundancies with her being a psychic.

“Now for the next-“

She extended her hands to the other body dropped facedown on the floor, missing one leg, torn off at the thigh and a heart beat? No mental activity. Meras fingers simply hung limp at their joints. This one was dead.

“I’m sorry but, this one is dead. You brought her back to be buried. Im sure she thanks you for risking her life. Who is it?”

It took a surprising amount of force to roll the body over. Cross’ corpse fell upon the ground with a thump. She was staring Mera back in the face, eye’s open and moving, to the extremities of their sockets. She had a Head of half shaved brown hair in a clean edgy cut with sophisticated sockets on the shaved portion of her head with an essay of cut and bruises covering her body that lie exposed beneath a torn robe. Cross’ eyes focused upon Mera, she recoiled in a fright.

“My goodness. Is she dead? Her limbs are mechanical, a cyborg? I, I can’t treat this-“

“Allied facial recognition detected. Meracle of the Lila’Maya, Counselor of Medicine and Humanitary Involvement, 5th Seer of The Lila’Maya”

Cross’ eerily calm voice, contrary to her broken condition, soothed its way into Mera and Savaj’s ears. Mera took a step back and Cross slowly worked her way to a standing position. Her eyes were glued open with surprise.

“Cross is perfectly fine, but must return to the laboratory quickly before her back up batteries run out. Which way is the exit?”

Mera pointed down the left hallway. Awestruck and silent. Cross looked down the hallway for a few seconds.

“Inefficient.”

She said robotically, and she looked to Savaj thereafter.

“Thank you Savaj.”

And then back to Mera.

“Kham knows where to find me.”

Without warning vaulted over Mera and flung herself out of the window.

“Yeh, shit still creeps me out too.”

-Savvy snickered witnessing that familiar film of shock wash over Mera’s face as Cross’ artificial consciousness escourted her body through the window. After leaping through its wood paneled ridges her blue visage vanished into winds, undoubtedly phasing through the seams of reality as she typically did, to shorten her trek home. Which was good, but meant the blue haired whore was leaving the debriefing to her. Tch.. -

“She gonna’ be fine, your focus is needed here..”

-She groaned while fastening Mera’s bioptic goggles around her slowly waining migraine but upon doing so, Savvy’s gilded sight cut deep into Imani’s mutated physiology. Her psionic mind yielded a myriad of gifts not limited to microscopic or even x-ray vision, but what the Lila’Mayan Seer marshaled was beyond the physical realm of comprehension. It made her advanced psychic scope on the realm seem somehow antiquated, shotty in comparison, but nothing beyond her understanding.

Savvy’s fingers glided above Imani’s warm, still frame and felt the heat of her Naten wafting out of her pores. It was colorless, but thick. As Mera predicted, SILK’s flawless experimentations morphed Imani’s biological chemistry into a masterful machination from a forgotten time. The Source Code rewrote her DNA, culled corporeal weakness and accentuated her rare, recessive traits. After years of research, SILK’s wide eyed ambitions found the perfect specimen in Imani and sculpted an Anima from her coil. Despite her humbling appearance, Anima were supposed godlike beasts blessed with boundless reservoirs of Naten. With these goggles, Savaj got an indepth peek at the intricate intrinsics of an Anima and their networks was foriegn to any medical diagram They were prehistoric creatures, anointed obelisks far from mortal but their immeasurable volumes of Naten were typically bound to a vessel. And Imani’s was dying.

“She’s coding.”

-She whispered to Mera, whose head and neck snapped into surgical focus and immediately rushed over.

Despite the astronomical units of Naten fueling Imani’s circulatory system, her heart was failing, along with her lungs, brain, liver, and several other organelles pivotal to her survival but Savaj’s unnerving calm insisted there was more to it. They weren’t exactly dying, they were being overclocked. It was like trying to charge a computer with a car battery. Her auburn skin was literally cracking like porcelain, spilling the caustic fumes of energy from her epithelial tremors.

Miguel’s decades of academic investments and accomplishments as a student, scientist, archeologists, engineer, physician, etc had forged a genius out of Savvy’s amorphous mind. Overnight she’d become a genius in more disciplines she’d ever bother to discover, some of which allowed her to follow Imani’s intrinsic metamorphous step by step. A small part of her found the transformation beautiful; there was even a glint of pride in her narrowed gaze until Mera rushed over. Savvy’s stoicism was becoming engorged, borderline crazed intrigue.-

“..no, don’t touch her! Not yet..”

-She insisted. Her intese lavender gaze was suddenly gowned with ivory lenses as she delved into a psionic trance, prodding through Imani’s subconscious which at this point sounded like an enormous vacuum. Just a vast, echoing absence.-

Savaj's sudden rebuke snapped Mera out of her singular focus. As if waking from a trance she looked innocently confused and batted her eyes in attempt to collect her thoughts. She understood sentiment, and had seen it carve precious seconds out of someones biological clock. She witnessed it first hand when her fathers life was taken, as she sat helpless when he was cut down in front of her eyes. She could taste the warm blood across her face, and still hear his cries for help as he bled out from under her. But this wasn’t mere sentiment. Mera was taken back to her days of study among the Amazons by the tonality of Savaj. It almost sounded like she was being instructed by the elders. This was her hospital, last time she checked.

Still, she couldn’t help but yield to Savaj’s expertise on the issue. Both of them peered over Imani assessing the most reasonable cause of action for her condition. Mera looked at Savaj's maple brown eyes which were statuesque unflinching, detached? She seemed to be in two places at once.

“Why what is happening? Coding? Talk to me.”

She looked down at Imani again and extended her hands once more, her eyes rolled to the back of her head and became awash with crystal calrity. A Seer, could not only see how The Stream flowed in and out of all creation but how it interacted with individuals. And Imani was drawing in far too much, which was killing her? No, changing her by killing her. To Mera it looked like Imani was dying, tufts of her skin were evaporating into nothing. Her organs, if you could tall them those were virtually nonexistent! Her body was decaying true, but her organic tissue was becoming something considered dead. It was almost imaginary, representational.

“What do we have to do?”

“Painkillers..”

-Was all she said while fashioning her locs into a top knot and curling her fists into knuckle popping mounds.-

“All of her organic tissue is being transumted into Raw Naten but her Arbiter and Cordis Nova are trying to adjust. Prep your lead trauma and plastics teams; tell’m they might be here for a minute tonight and.. and I can’t stress this enough.. painkillers.”

-And with that, Savvy’s detatched ivory glare returned and she gently laid her fingers around Imani’s crumbling cheeks. In moments, she peeled back layers of her subconscious mind as means to locate Imani’s existential idenity. Her sense of self which had been lost betwixt an otherworldly astral storm due to SILK’s experiments. The psionic dive landed Savaj within a void of daunting dimensions and abysmal contorting figures. Dark, dark, dark clouds were the only concrete compositions of this realm, but the immense blackness had been filled with the cracking of thunder and malicious rolling tides. Savvy didn’t have a boat or oar to swim with, but her own stalwart presence of mind kept her grounded amidst the psionic maelstrom.-

..where..

-Still, it took immense concentration and a mild nosebleed before Savvy could decipher Imani’s neural frequencies. But once she did, the sky cracking roars of her astral storm began to almost speak to her. As if every “KHRA!” and “BOOM!” carried a cryptic message behind it.-

You.. Must.. Center.. You’r—.. IMANI!!

-Her incorporeal screams and warnings were drowned out by the abstract, neural crisis of Imani’s own design. In the physcial world, Savvy’s body was slightly trembling, leaking fluid out of her nose with vascular threads crawling around her head. If Mera was too close at this point, she could potential catch a jolt of dehibiliating psionic embers. Hopefully she had already made moves to follow Savvy’s instruction, or they were gonna have to clean up two corpses from these prisitine tiles.-

Terms like Pain Killers and Plastic's teams was something foreign to Mera's floral, fungal and biological medicinal training. But if her time as chief of this hospital taught her anything, it was the similarities between these different worlds. Tirelessly did she and others compose medical journals, logging all the combined knowledge of these cultures. From pills, to plants, to spores and surgical instruments pointing out redundancies and similarities between the two. It was a trying process. But there was a reason why Neovia's library was held as a hallmark of ingenuity and forward thinking. All this, and she still couldn't figure out why it was considered 'modern' to ingest plastic capsules rather than the plant itself.

With her own sight, she knew Imani had to be stabilized like she needed a vessel for her energy body to house. Considering the sheer volume of incidents Neovia experienced, and the amount of mishaps that could happen in the field, regenerative surgeries were quite common. If Mera had time, she would begin beating her head against the wall for letting everyone go tonight. Now she had to do the work of a whole surgical team. It didn’t stop her from speaking like she had one though.

“Sterilizing.”

Her movements were fluid with her mind racing a mile a minute thinking of the next few steps to take to make sure this woman got out alive. Like any surgeon she protected herself first. She pressed a button on the top collar of her lab coat that caused it to grow long white sleeves, pants, and a hood that covered her face in an abysmal blackness that then glowed with a soft blue hue. COER had outfitted all of the Lila'Maya with lab coats that could turn to protective suits by the push of a button, literally a button, on the collar. The gloves were made of the same polymer that the goggles were made out of, a genius material that was conductive to Naten and could emit it without harming the fabric of the coat. The helmet interacted the same sight of the Goggles and was reading heightened neurolgical activity by the way of a grid across Mera's face.

‘’I’m getting heightened brain activity fr-“

She looked at the source of the readings, Savaj who was looking like a corpse. Mera took another mouthful of air and returned to her work. She began pressing a series of buttons on her wrist whilst shaking her head in a manic motion- an attempt to drown out Savaj's guttural moans and groans.

“Okay, transferring to Wing A-F”

The wrist console was a series of coded inputs to the whole hospital, the living entity it came to be. Any surgeon could communicate with it eliminating the use of the middle man to relay information.

Two silver flatbeds, floated down the hallway. Mera looked in their direction, she sucked her teeth and shook her head. These things never came fast enough when you needed them. With more inupts to her console, Mera's suit let out light neon green pulses from its feet. The grass growing in between the tiles lengthened from frail, short fingers, to sturdy lengthly vines that rose both Imani and Savaj from their position and onto the floating flatbeds. Communicating with the organisms of the hospital was made possible with a series of Naten coded pulses inputed by the suit. Mera's had an 'all access pass' to mobilize the entire unit if necessary. She sprinted down the hallway with the flatbeds floating closebehind.

“Wakey wake little ones.”

She kept typing away at her wrist console that exerted more pulses in an off beat rhythm. Atop of the flat beds, sleeping were the HoneySuckles that awoke from their cocooned slumber and paraded after Mera, flying down the hall way keeping up with her speed, beaks full of liquid nectar that could be used at any time for back up painkillers if necessary. She ran and typed, ran and typed some more while sprinting down the overgrown floral hallways wirelessly preparing the reconstructive surgery room for their arrival hoping that she would be enough.

-After weathering the dark blister for what felt like hours, Savaj had deciphered Imani’s forlorn cries through the spectral cacophony. In the small time she been here, Savvy could have marshaled a language from the various frequencies of lashing energy but there was no need, and she certainly didn’t have the time. Imani’s signal was registered and her request for rescue was primed.-

..hol’ on baby, just hol’ on..

-Savvy floated amidst the crawling, cawing darkness with her legs comfortably folded and restless eyelids close shut. The sentient mass seemed to actively avoid her astral form, as if she’d been heavily gilded in protective wards or charms. But it was her own psionic pressure maintaining the sovereignty of her sense of self, like an anchor, so she wouldn’t be swallowed whole by Imani’s primal thoughts.

In her trance, Savvy’s mind waded through chaos in search of a familar face, smell, or presence but traversing the reconstructing subconscious of an Anima was more strenuous than she imagined. Each of Imani’s memories, past experiences, griefs and traumas were girdled by the eroding surge of Naten. Her sense of self was splintered and her “form” was scrambled because ot it. All of Imani’s mental activity was volatile, and honestly Savaj knew the young Anima’s neural defenses would end up devouring the both of them if she didn’t shift from this meek ass method of operation. But slight of hand was necessary when dealing with something as the mind. Overwhelming it was easy, repair was abysmally difficult. Especially in Savvy’s condition, if Imani could piece herself together, damage between the each of them would be mininal.-

Imani, if you’re hearin’ this, I’ma NEED you to work wit’ me here! Your mind, body, and spirit have been compromised, you ARE changing but you have the power to take the reigns, okay? My voice can tether you, but YOU have to fight through!! No way we goin’ out like this!!

-She had to roar through the cascading psionic waves and her words tossed Imani’s subconscious into a frenzy that threatened to overwhelm the quaint, confident demeanor she was trying to Marshal to her friend. Her concentration and meditative posture was whipped about by Imani’s haunting mass of ebony nightmares which was dealing noticeable damage to her physical self. The darkness threatened to pierce Savvy’s psionic defenses and devour her astral projection, meshing her magnificent energies into Imani’s prodigal evolution.

The pain was indescribable, vicious enough to trap her physical body in string of throaty screams that filled the Neovian Clinic with her paint stripping vocals. Despite her exhaustion, this was painful reminder that Savvy needed more practice in dealing with tentative, meticulous psionic process. As well as an introduction on just how monstrous the mind of a newborn Anima.

IMAN- Gah, fuck!!

It was time she took the offensive. If she was going to save either of them, she needed to do more than just coach and advise.

BITCH, REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE!! DON’T YOU MAKE ME DO IT FOR YOU!!!

-Fuck.. her emotions were spilling through her connection, which meant Savvy’s trance was slipping. It was time take a more dynamic approach.

Savaj’s astral projection was fading and crumbling from its corrosive surroundings but when its eyes flared open, the shimmering visage erupted into a pillar of golden heat. Savvy’s rage fueled the psionic geyser that spread about the maxim of Imani’s blackout with root like tendrils. The young psychic didn’t want to hurt her friend but she definitely wasn’t going out like this. Besides, Imani had proven hundreds of times prior that she was harder to kill than the elven undead. Circumstances considered, she just needed a little push. In this case, it was Savaj forcibly drawing fourth her scattered memories and rekindling the dynamo’s own undying will.-

The lush green halls of the hospital turned green house were reduced to a smear of greens, reds, and other colors the faster Mera escorted Savaj and Imani to their chamber. In it’s 10 years of life, Neovia had grown much, but Cross’ rapidly produced innovations were all theories and this suit, which Protected Mera from the backlash of Savaj’s psionic struggle was still terribly heavy. She had heard through the pipeline of mechanics that the weight of the material was the only way It could protect anyone in the hospital from the myriad of casualties unforeseen.

Considering the state of her chafed skin, she’d rather risk the psychic bombardment. She perspired waterfalls of sweat from her brow, and other inconvenient locations chafing her raw in her thighs and ankles. But Mera pushed through the pain flanked by an army of birds ready to administer their salvation serum at a moments notice.

Mera, and her sled of basket cases banked a corner, then another, then another. Finally, she could see the neon green light emanating from an open door way on the far right hand corner. The room was fully calibrated, the green pulses of electric energy stopped underfoot, Mera took a breath mid sprint turned her head to look at Savaj who’s veins had turned to tar black, ink trails along her face and neck she was murmuring unintelligible words. Imani was doing no better, literal pieces of her was dissolving into nothingness as if her body was disintegrating by an invisible flame. With a grunt she focused reared her head down the hall and burst through the door. What lie ahead of them were two baths set deep into the floor filled with a strange green liquid. Floral growth, like veins grew along the floor and converged into the rectangular baths with nodes along the vines every inch or so looking much like connectors on a cable. Along the ceiling were floral baskets, the size of shopping carts overgrown with leaves and greenery containing the essential herbs that Mera had sent to this room by the runners of the hospital who’s head poked out from. You could see their notched ears first, then their clawed hands that peaked over the side only to hoist up their heads that had giant eyes.

“My babies. Thank you.”

They didn’t acknowledge Mera. The pulses of Naten given to them focused their neurons on their primary objective. They had orders to fulfill as much as she, but she always thanked the natural forces hard at work to make this peculiar place run efficiently. But reserved a dash of spite for the Neovians natural instinct to make that happen by temporarily dominating their minds with naten pulses from the suits. Through the pipeline it was said that ‘casual conversations’ would take too long in an emergency. Mera moved the two flat beds over the respective pools by the typing of her console. They floated slowly across the room and lie suspended over the pools waiting to fit into them like missing puzzle pieces, the bath slightly larger than the bed.

The giant eyed BushBabies leapt overhead from basket to basket stuffing it with various items from the pouches in their bellies. The Honeysuckles flew in after the flat beds and landed upon the nodes along the floor that converged in the pools and deposited their nectar. Orange glowing spheres, visible beneath the husks of the vines pulsed down the cords that turned the eerie green liquid into a bubbling purple.

“Immersing.”

She said to herself, shaky and very much out of breath. Her eyes looked down toward the lower right corner of her helmet that showed her own vitals. It estimated her Naten levels as well as her mental acuity before going into surgery. She scoffed at the metrics. They didn’t account for the resilience of the human soul.

A translucent glass shell covered both Imani and Savaj. The vines the honey suckles were on, leapt up from the floor and latched themselves to the glass pumping the bubbling purple liquid into the flatbed now turned bed-chamber. Purple mist showered Imani and Savaj both stabilizing their bodies from the pain, regenerating their energy levels at a steady rate.

Even with the two stable now was not the time for pause. Imani could not return this world without a body. Mera would have to build one for her, with her. She made her way over to Imanis bed and raised her hands. The bush babes dropped into them two redish purple spheres lined with fur, which Mera slammedmed together creating some liquid rubbery polymer. This fruit was incredibly rare it was known as ‘The Mother’s Flesh’ to most. Because it tasted much like vescrutian flesh. If consume in it’s raw form cancerous overgrowth consumed the body. That was because it juice over stimulated white blood cell growth. If surgically guided, it could repair flesh from a source. Like putty Mera rubbed the juice around in her hands waiting patiently for Imani to stabilize before she began rebuilding her. She glanced at Savaj who was looking slightly better as well. This was the worst part… the waiting.

Her mind began to race. Memories of her father. Dying helpless. She hoped she could save these two.

-Savvy’s gold/ivory tower of blistering psychic power relinquished the carnivorus shadows strangling Imani’s subconscious. The shimmering obilisk shed petals of fire and explosive pressure that wafted through Imani’s mind like a volatile plague. Not one reclusive dark corner was spared. But from the exisitential ashes, Imani’s memories, empirical experiences, childish milestones, and other abstract fragments that sculpted her identity returned.. granted, by force.

Savvy’s decision to gather and probe the fleeting layers of Imani’s subconscious was risky, but there was no other way to contain all the Naten shunting from her crumbling body. She was evolving, SILK’s notes affirmed that fact. It also emphasized that any outside inteference could either unbalance the mutation or terminate it prematurely. Imani had to do this on her own.-

————

-Mera’s eyes quivered as it seemed like, despite her valiant efforts, Imani’s conditions took a radical and swift turn for the worst. Within her incubating chamber, Imani’s corroding flesh suddenly dispersed into a solution of bioluminescent embers that bled through the chambers glass dimensions like neon. The shimmering cocktail swirled and turned about the translucent coffin until it settled on a shape of its own; a familiar silhouette, yet faceless and featureless. It wasn’t until Imani remember her name did the invisible frame began to resemble her distingusing traits.

Her athletic build was the first thing molded from amorphous figurine, the years she spent in the Abyss fighting, stealing, and clawing to survive had nurtured her body into a bleeding scab of pride. She fought and earned everything she had, the scars and callouses proved that. Her skin returned with the memories of her family, her mother and sisters who lost their souls to monsters not of this world. Ravegers peeled the cinamon pigment from their bones, leaving the beauty of their full lips and crest white smiles as bitter sweet memory. She embodied that pain, literally. The lingering, yet perfect models Imani held of her late family helped sculpt her new form .

From head to toe, power exuded her naked vessel like a miniture sun. Her fluttering eyes struggled to stay open within whatever benevolent concoction Mera submerged them in.
