Effortlessly, the Emerald haired pauper navigated the terrain abroad. As they dodged the nasty supply of traps and death centered creations Zero abruptly came to a halt just before the corridor of set to the right of the once forked path. In truth Bo hadn't placed much intentionality in his choice, when faced with a decision like this in a realm of totally hidden agenda sometimes the wisest thing was just to say fuck it and give it a go. Was that not the essence of being an adventurer? Sometimes the most well calculated scenario could still have variables to sway the tide. As much as he had hypotheses about the world, it wasn't until he took a chance and set out into it, that he began to understand the sporadic nature of life and just how whimsical danger could be.
He slid raised a tuft of wind beneath his feet and slid over to the right corridor with a sly whistle.
As he approached the opening, a red fog began spilling from it's depths. His good took him a few feet into the tunnel before he stopped moving, padded in place by this cloud that quickly grew to cover the entire opening.
Bo wasn't to far behind Zero, possibly a few feet or so. As he neared the entrance his
Magic Sense began to pick up on something, though faint it carried enough malefic magical energy to make the hairs on his arms and neck stand up. The dark spooky tunnel gave him haunted T's and considering his wariness of the supernatural, i.e. the dead, He felt it prudent to give his buddy a heads up before they went further but just as Bo reached out to tap him on the shoulders
"The fu-" is all he could say before the crimson gas belched and flung him viciously across the room into the wall behind him. Zero landed his feet on the wall with an air muffled thud, staring curiously back into the red deterrent. It roiled in the corridor, a storm of mysterious fog bubbling out like seething rage over the sides of a very angry pot of rice. The room illuminated itself with hazy symbols lining its perimeter. There were 12 in all, one placed over the tunnel they entered through and another over their chosen exit.
A furious maelstrom of crimson breath swamped the area. The force of it's coming carried enough power to blow the beryl adventurer and his companion clear across the room. Bo had some pretty sick reaction time and was able to use the force of the blow and his nimble ninja like movements to turn his body so that his feet collided with a neighboring pillar denting it slightly but not hard enough to break it. Naten mended within his feet gave him the ability to cling to it's surface. Bo's eyes rapidly scanned the room for the origin of the fog. With it's cardinal coming the essence gave way to a series of runic markings who appeared and felt magical in nature. Bo, in the brief time it took them to manifest throughout the room was able to mentally note the placing of the symbols. His knowledge of the arcane warranted him to always pay attention to markings, glyphs, symbols etc. Considering what happened next, it was a good thing he did.
"FOOLISH FUCKING MORTALS! YOU DARE VENTURE INTO THE CITY OF THE LEGEND?!?!"
A voice exploded from the walls as the gas swirled about as wraiths climbed from the haze covering the floor. Zero stuck to the side of the wall just to keep a more bird’s eye view of the situation worsening by the second. In the darkness their bodies were barely visible but the weapons they brandished, blades of all sorts and sizes, were illuminated with what Zero could only guess was rage and regret. Each symbol produced a ghastly warrior in front of it, each stoic and terrifying in their own right.
The voice boomed, shaking the foundation of the pillar he was on. It's origin could not been pinpointed but after it's bellow from the symbols manifested a series of ghastly warriors accompanied by an array of blades. Just off theory it was a good chance that these being were born from the magic(?) of the runes that littered the place. To Dazuma, the beings were clear as day. Despite the nasty fog obscuring their bodies , Bo could energetically experience their numbers. They were certainly out numbered.
“Foolish fucking ghost! You dare…? To… You dare?” he spat at whichever form he thought owned the condescending voice from before. Zero dismounted from his wall and floated next to Bo again. “You hear this guy? Like we’re the fools and they’re the guys who are dead? Hah!”
Zero rolled his neck, cracked his knuckles and sparks of electricity began to dance from his feet
"Boy, You suuuure told em."
Bo said with a condescending snicker. For all Zero's experience it seemed his partner wasn't all that skillful in the art of smack talk. He had never encountered ghost and the horrible intent radiating from them was almost suffocating. For As lightning began to dance under Zero's feet Bo would find himself to be a bit shocked. Frankly, where he was from it was rare to see a weaver of wind naten. In fact, he had only seen his brother wield it so freely. However to also be a wielder of Lightning as well? That most certainly caught his eye. Just who was this man...
Dazuma, you cannot fall here, you must see this through!
Zero exclamation prompted an immediate response from Bo. As the crimson blades sought to reach their target he leapt from the pillar to the neighboring one leaving a slight green-blue trail of light as he narrowly avoided the blades. Fluidly, during the leap, he would begin a brief series of hands signs inspiring his body to crackle with green spats of electricity. From then on he released a volley of dark green colored kunai toward the back of which ever one of the warriors had targeted him in their initial assault. A faint green light could be seen trailing behind the kunai. There were three of them all together.
"Hear that Zero? It wants us to join it's collection...by the looks of these guys...I'm thinking it's a strong pass."
He said observing the fog. Obviously it was meant to obscure their sight. That wasn't the main issue for Bo though, trying to surmise whether it was toxic for the living, was.
"Getting any weird tingling feeling from the fog?"
After all he caught the brunt of the scarlet blech that caused it. Bo continued to ponder over the nature of the markings though...trying to make sure if what he thought was a fact was indeed one.
