"Let's move!" Zero screamed happily. Dodging every trap laid out before them got boring about halfway through. The bulk of them rendered themselves moot against the pressurized barriers surrounding the pair. The gadgets were oddly simple in comparison to deterrents Zero met in his former line of work. He shrugged off most of his concerns and trusted Bo had a good sense for this kind of thing. In a 50/50 split Zero couldn't have had any better logic than
He slid raised a tuft of wind beneath his feet and slid over to the right corridor with a sly whistle.
As he approached the opening, a red fog began spilling from it's depths. His good took him a few feet into the tunnel before he stopped moving, padded in place by this cloud that quickly grew to cover the entire opening.
"The fu-" is all he could say before the crimson gas belched and flung him viciously across the room into the wall behind him. Zero landed his feet on the wall with an air muffled thud, staring curiously back into the red deterrent. It roiled in the corridor, a storm of mysterious fog bubbling out like seething rage over the sides of a very angry pot of rice. The room illuminated itself with hazy symbols lining its perimeter. There were 12 in all, one placed over the tunnel they entered through and another over their chosen exit.
"FOOLISH FUCKING MORTALS! YOU DARE VENTURE INTO THE CITY OF THE LEGEND?!?!"
A voice exploded from the walls as the gas swirled about as wraiths climbed from the haze covering the floor. Zero stuck to the side of the wall just to keep a more bird’s eye view of the situation worsening by the second. In the darkness their bodies were barely visible but the weapons they brandished, blades of all sorts and sizes, were illuminated with what Zero could only guess was rage and regret. Each symbol produced a ghastly warrior in front of it, each stoic and terrifying in their own right.
“Foolish fucking ghost! You dare…? To… You dare?” he spat at whichever form he thought owned the condescending voice from before. Zero dismounted from his wall and floated next to Bo again. “You hear this guy? Like we’re the fools and they’re the guys who are dead? Hah!”
Zero rolled his neck, cracked his knuckles and sparks of electricity began to dance from his feet.
”I WILL ADD YOU TO MY ACCURSED COLLECTION!”
The attack began with a pair approaching in a gust of smoke billowing behind them, two crimson, curved blades bearing down on the duo with murderous intent. Zero caught the sound of air moving and tapped Bo, “Move!”
Right is right, right?
