Faction Template: The Conservatory

Post by The Conservatory »

The Conservatory is the Organization that operates the Neo Jaida Cultural Institute, commissioned by the Jaidan Tribes and sponsored by the Lucis Acolytes. The Jaidan Tribes chartered the organization from The Conservatory to help the tribes communicate and collaborate better with one another after the Atlantean tragedy, Skyfall, and to make use of a location developed by Zero Venkage. Skyfall saw the loss of a number of Atlantean warriors in siege on the site that would later become the Institute after Zero crafted the structure from a brick he saved from the Fall of Arcturus. Since he couldn't easily remove the structure or bring back the lives taken, he worked with the local band Far-land and the Acolytes to prevent a future tragedy like Skyfall from ever happening again by creating the Neo Jaida Cultural Institute.

The Neo Jaida Cultural Institute hosts a marketplace, educational seminars on local history, sports entertainment, and more conducted by members looking to bridge the gap between them and their neighbors to have the support and resources to flourish in a new era for the region. Though Zero 'leads' the organization, having provided the real estate for the Institute himself, he relies on close partnership with the local tribes to facilitate the development of open, accessible lines of communication between the tribes of Jaida. He spent time immersed in the cultures of the Elvs and Humans to build the connections and trust to make the Institute into what it is today, a place for the Jaidans to connect with one another.

Two years has passed since the foundation of the Neo Jaida Cultural Institute, and this year's Neo Festurus festival's attendance dwarfed the flagship celebration's, showing how big of a positive impact the institute has made in the area. The Garganega, Gafren, Atlanteans and other tribes have been able to come together and understand more about each other than just their differences, recanting stories and artifacts from millennia ago from the time before the Fosfe Incident, the last time Jaida had an opportunity to unite in a similar fashion. This year's festivities carried much of the spirit of the Knights of Jaida, legendary heroes from various tribes of Jaida and champions of the Fosfe Incident banded together to defeat the Mazoku. Unfortunately during the celebration of a new era of peace and abundance, they were visited by the ghost of a nightmare of the past. The B'halian Empire arrived and shared their vision with the Jaida Coast through an offer to Zero he might have been foolish to refuse: Become the Sovereign of Madeira, foment control over the entire continent, and pledge fealty to the B'halian Empire and their crusade for global domination.

A short consort with the people present called him to deny their lavish offer, sending the Empire home but not without a promise to return and acquire the continent with more conventional means, starting with the Jaida Coast. The following days brought together many more tribes and factions of Jaida to discuss the growing need for military force, the Knights of Gafren now were only a legend and left behind mythos and mystery. The Lucis Acolytes offer a special peek into their ascetic discipline and offer their neighbors an open invitation to understand the power of a Vestige they've devoted their lives to mastering and the Vermeil Realm said to hold untold depths of raw power within it.

This new paradigm calls members of The Conservatory to understand the nature of the Vermeil Realm to rout the coming invasion and use the untold strength of The Bestiary to beat back B'halia. Using the previously unexplored strength of the Acolytes' charge and inspired by the valiant spirit of the Knights of Jaida, The Conservatory creates a space for foment strength in collaboration and explore the unknown depths of The Bestiary.

Pillars
Central: Founders of the Neo Jaida Foundation
Contrast: They don't have the complete trust of the locals
Active: Building combat reserves to combat the B'halian Empire

Traits:
Vermeil Realm - The realm the acolytes say all Cordos are connected to. The realm is said to be like a world spanning river flowing just beneath the plane of our own, the realm where willpower itself can take shape and form. The Vermeil Realm is home to a host of constructs of Will, a whole world its own with its channels and secrets. This realm has been studied by the Acolytes for ages and they have been using their findings to complete their magnum opus, The Bestiary. The first thing they teach new Acolytes is how to tap into this realm themselves and unlock their Cordo.

Giltarmory - The ability to give shape and form to a Cordo. Giltarmory is able to use the nature of an Cordo charged with Naten to give it shape and a way to channel Vermeil. Giltarmory when used on a Cordo typically unlocks a new Arbiter for them, but the nature or strength of the Arbiter will vary depending on the character and context.

Bismythril - The ability to connect two Arbiters to one another and unlock a new channel for Vermeil to flow. The more harmony that can be attained between the two Cordos, the easier it is for the energy to flow, something the Acolytes prioritize through their continued study into The Bestiary. Mastery of Bismythril gives the user access to Advanced Arbiter techniques

The Arbiters that you employ will change and evolve as your character grows, but the fundamentals that follow will get you your Cordo, and explore more of the Vermeil Realm, and growing The Bestiary.
